She smild again. "That's not relaly what I meant. If you were faced with such an offer, what would you take?" She already knew the answer, but she liked getting the girl to think.

Bode pouted. "Why is it always the woman that can't be trusted?" She'd not had much luck with other females."

But she got excited. "Really? I've never really played with others before! Keely is always busy. She has chores. I don't have chores. I do alot of experimenting in the kitchen." she put a finger to her mouth. "But no one eats them."
PostPosted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 7:58 pm

"Well right now, I'd eat anything you cooked up. I'm famished. haven't had a good hunt in some time with being unwell. and it's her fault just cuase she's the one that stuck something in me. if I'd stuck myself with something, then it woudl be my fault, wouldn't it."

A slight grin, mussing her hair.

Keely tilted her head in the fashion that a child not often asked her opinion did. She was learning new things with Meilikki everyday now wasn't she? Crossing her arms in that overly cute thinking manner, she indeed took to thinking on the subject. "I...don't know. I'd want to stay here, because this is home...but heloing others is nice to. To do that I'd have to go there."

It was a tough decision, that was for sure. Even if it was hypothetical for her. "Could I pick somewhere inbetween?" That way she could kind of be in two places at once now couldn't she?
PostPosted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 8:24 pm

"To choose a place inbetween...if that were possible. Who would build your home, and how would you pay for it? You don't know much about foundations or materials. So lets say that in between is not an option. Here, or there." She wasn't putting her on the spot, just conversing.

Bode knitted her eyebrows, this talk of fault had her a bit confused. "Um, right. So...it's you fault? Why don't you find this girl and make it not your fault anymore?" She wasn't sure that made sense at all.

Was that really her only choices? Here or there? That was indeed a tough decision...but Meilikki was talking to a ten year old here who had a rather limited view at times on matters such as this when provided with narrow choices. Lightly Keely rubbed at her arm in that unsure fashion. "I'd go...but I would come back and visit as often as I could. I'd want to see new things, but not forget the old ones, ever."

"Well, I been trying to find her. but my little wisps don't sem to be able to. she's hiding from me someplace. and she's..well...not the kind of woman you bring around children."

A slight grin.

"Why don't you go get Moon to let you play with the kitchen. he lives upstairs you know, I'm sure he has one and you cna cook me up something nice and tasty."

Yes, that certainly seemed like the kind of answer a child would give her. Refreshing really. They liked to keep doors open, didnt like closing opportunities.

"Sounds reasonable to me. So, how do we start this letter? Informal, you sujest before. Gerard then. No title."

"Gerard:

I have given great thought to your proposal and I will believe that you are sincere. Please except one more subjuct into your growing city, I will try my best to hold up to old alliences.

Forever loyal to the people:

Meilikki Stonewood."

She frowned. "Okay."

But then she smiled. "I haven't been upstairs yet!" Thus she clomped to the floor and ran to the stairway, taking steps two at a time. Well, she imagined she was taking two at a time, she wasn't really tall enough yet to do that comfortably. She pounced Moonstone, who had been making himself a cup of coffe.

Moonstone came downstairs a few minutes later and handed his borther a mug. "You sure you want Bode to cook for you?" He took a sip from his own cup.

Meilikki nodded, figureing she had given the right answer, seeing as Meilikki didn't seem upset with her. And that was a good thing in her book. But she turned back to the desk and took to writing what she was told, a little slowly to make sure all the hard words were spelled right and what not before letting ink dry and then starting into sealing motions. "When you leave...are you going to come back and visit?"

S little chilly, she threw a black shall over her sholder. She still had another two months before she would stop wearing all black. "Of course I will cme back and visit." She kneeled down looking at Keely in the eye. "You think you're going to miss me that much?"

Keely looked at Meilikki as if she had just asked the dumbest question in the world. But in childish shy fashion she fidgeted a little as she smiled to the woman. "Of course I will silly, you're my friend." Which said a lot...seeing as she really didn't have too many friends here who saw her as one in return...or she at least hoped so with Meilikki. Hey that had spent a lot of time together. "That's good, because if you didn't I'd be sad.

"I'd be sad too." She gave Keely a quick hug. "Friends are few and far between, so we'd best hold on to the ones we've got, isn't that right?" Feeling better? You could say so, Although she wasn't looking forward to the task ahead of her, she was glad she'd be able to put her long time friend to restful peace. Where he wanted to be.

"Why don't you help me pack what little belongings I have?"

Catawa handed Din a glass of water. He'd been complaining of terrible headaches for days, the silly thing. She knew it was a small headache, he just wanted attention. "feeling better yet?"

"I'm on the mend."

"You always say that." She'd been trying to get him out of bed. She had things to do and she wanted him to help her. A simple matter....if he'd JUST get out of that bed!

"Do you remeber..." he'd been remenising alot latley..."When Eca saved me, the first time we met?"

"I was there. You were trying to kill yourself."

"A boy's life was a hard life. My mother had just been killed."

"You liked no older than six, back then."

"I was over twenty though. It's no wonder the rest of the city treated me like a monster."

"Can't blame them. We were all seen as monsters back then."

"Aye. Ton and his...amazing powers. Never seen anything before like that man's done. And I've been around. Eca and her strange new gift. The time stream had never been tapped before. Dragons...no one had ever seen a dragon before, not even coqs. Drem and his medicins....Riana and her speach thing...you with that feirce gaurdian skeleton. And me. The boy who didn't grow."

"It was a fairy tale."

"The way we saved the world." He smiled and waved a hand. "It was wasn't it? Just the kind of story for a book."

"A children's book. Writen, read, then forgotten."

"Really?"

"There are few who remeber our story."

He frowned, picking at the sheets. "Time makes dust and shadows of us all."

Of course that hug got returned...Keely was one who liked to attach to people and she didn't dismissively forget anyone once they had wormed thier way into her good graces. But a little nod as she slipped off the chair and started to help Meilikki around the room packing and what not. This must mean that she was leaving soon.

"And I'll come visit you too, when Mistress Piper does." Yes she knew about that, Piper planning on keeping touch with Meilikki and Keely was going to make good on that little thing. But soon enough, things were packed and Keely slipped off a simple little metal engraved bracelet she wore on her wrist and held it up to Meilikki. "Here, I want you to have this."

"Piper had better come visist," she sadi with a smile. "We have buisness and frienship to discuss over dinner." Meilikki folded her hands over the small braclet like a covet, precious gem. She wasn't one to qeuestion these acts of giving, it was an insult on some higher level to decline a gift that obviously had sentimental meaning. "Keely, it's lovely." She felt perhaps this would be a good time for an exchange of items, but unfortunatly, Meilikki had lost most, if not all of her possesions when she had been taken away. She'd keep it in mind to find something special for the child.

Another one of those beaming smiles to Meilikki, teeth and all, before she gave a little laugh. "I'll make sure to tell her that if she doesn't then you'll be upset." Then a point up at the bracelet that Meilikki was now holding. "So you have something so you don't forget. Mistress Piper used to say that humans weren't good things, that they forgot everything and make the same mistakes over and over again. That was before she got nice though and took off our collars."

Which she really didn't understand, only knew that she was a human and Piper, Malik as well, were elves. Apparently they had better memories and didn't repeat mistakes or something like that. Another smile. "Don't worry about breaking it, it's can stand quite a lot. Looks pretty but stands up good in playing and chores."

She slipped the braclet onto her wrist. "I won't forget about Piper, but it certainly helps to have something from you. I'd hate to forget such a charming child." She ruffed the girls head, stood up and looked around. She had what little clothes Malik had been able to give her, a few other things she'd requested...and that was pretty much it.

"I suppose I am ready now. Although I would like to say good-bye to Piper first. Thank her."
