The young surface elf nodded a little at Sevilin's first comment, of course Sevilin wouldn't have known he was from somewhere else a different plane than the Underdark but it never hurt to ask just incase the drow ever knew of the name. But the drow's next comment got him a little pissed, why does he always have to put down anything that was related at all to the surface elves? Honestly every time they came across the topic he always refereed to them as trash, whatever there was no time to get into an argument about that right now.
Arthur paused as he looked at the book in his hand before placing it back on the shelf and then turned his full attention to Sevilin. "Well after what happened in here I went to my room and practice my violin for awhile, afterwards I decided to hit the bed and when I was in reverie my mind brought up a memory of what seemed like my Elf parents before I was raised by humans, they called me Galesen Coldiron and since I was found by my human parents here in the Underdark I thought I could find some other information on my real parents somewhere in this library."
There that was the reason why he was here, interrupting Sevilin's precious time alone, he may have just found out his real name and now wanted to find out about the truth of his parents even if it is just a little bit.

Sevilin look unconcerend. "Bravo, you've found out your real name." A little scoff. "No reason to uproot all around you to find information. Here's another thing about elves....not often are our personal histories recorded in books, let alone obscure places like here." he wasn't purposefully trying to rain on his parade, it was just turning out that way it seemed.

"You'd be better off roaming the underdark and finding other surface things like yourself. Of course from what I've seen...not too many are willing to talk...being former slaves and all from that." He waved a hand dismissively. "You're an elf...it will come back to you."

No surprise that Sevilin would not care about Arthur finding his real name and Arthur was happy that he did found out his real name but he felt that Arthur Murdock was his real and doesn't feel like changing it anytime soon. But he was kind of upset that elves never record their histories in any book at all so there was no hope of him finding anything on his real family. With a small sigh he pulled out a chair and sat down in it with a light grunt and Sevilin was also right about the other surface elves that lived down here, most of them have been in slavery for too long and rather not talk to anyone anymore. "yeah I guess your right, I got caught up in the moment a little too much I guess." Arthur sighed in frustration and pinched the brow of his nose, after all these years he finally was able to 'see' his real parents and now he cannot find out anything else on them which sucked. But then a light bulb went off in his head and he smiled. "I could always ask Kieran."

Another look to Arthur. He was certinally exaclty like a human when it came to this thing? How many times would Sevilin have to tell him that being a spiritual and mental creature, he was likely to reverie things he wanted to know...he definately had the impatience of the humans that was raised by. "Are you ever calm about anything..." Rhetorical statement apparently on his part.

Though he held back a scoff. "Ask Silvercrest about Coldirons? If that be your task...then you'll find answers from him very similar to mine. Though I don't like to admit it, he and I share a plane of birth and rearing." A little shrug and then a scowl as he thought of it. "Then again give him a week and he can find anything he wants with his little deceitful ways..."

Arthur shot a tiny glare at the drow. "Of course I am." he muttered lightly and rolled his eye lightly before he shifted in his seat a little bit. "But still it does not hurt to ask him does it? Besides if he does find any information regarding my real family, even if it's little, then I don't mind." Honestly Arthur was a happy elf now that he knew his real name and wanted to know more, to know what his family had done while they were on the surface; but that would have to wait because he had no way of getting that information at all.
Glancing at the book that Sevilin had in his hands he leaned a bit forward. "So what are you reading there Sevilin?" there was nothing wrong in asking the drow about what he was reading, besides Arthur may start to take up some reading as well, if he found a book he understood first.

And he was stuck on that family thing. That was perhaps one thing that Sevilin would never understand truly. Family. His own 'family' wasn't quite the word to describe the little gathering of drow who all braided thier hair in some fashion and ranged in talents all over the board as was mother's choosing. The only true 'family' aspect he had supposed existed was between him and his brothers, and that had been because they had to take care of each other. Family was not something a drow easily related. You lived by House...not family.

But he pulled himself from his little thinking session to look at Arthur again and then a look to his book. "On death, the undead, and necromancy. Malik mentioned some things and I'm looking into them...part of my job for him I suppose if he's intending such things..." He still needed Malik, the rune mage knew that. Knowledgeable he may be in the runes, but unable to preform them as he may have wanted. "Nothing that would interest you I'm sure. Magics I doubt you engage in."

Arthur frowned just a little at the drow's choice of reading, but then again Malik had mentioned it to him so the young elf wasn't suprised but why on necromancy? That was something Arthur didn't like and hoped he never have to get into as long as he lived. Arthur slowly leaned back in his chair and smiled a little. "I don't mind magic, necromancy is a different issue all together but basic elemental magic I like, I even know just a little bit watch." Arthur raised his hand and opened it fully to release a small flame on his palm, after a few minutes he closed it and smiled just a little bit. "I know basic fire skills but I was never trained that much in other fire techniques or other elements so I only know just a little bit." That was another thing he had to check up on, ever since his little bout in the arena and he found he could do eletric spells he wanted to pratice to see how weel he could manipulate other elements too.

"Necromancy is a magic and field of choice and for those who can stomach it as well as be devoted to it. A higher level of magic over the basics." A little shrug and he looked wholly unimpressed by Arthur...either that or he was just bored...his expression rather neutral. But a little fire trick was hardly anything for him to pay attention to. Not only a rune mage, but also a regular mage as well, versed in such arts and skills. He had his father to thank for those lovely genes.

"And why don't you know more than that...you have at least..." A look of him up and down, " one hundred and ten years on you at the very least. Strange...even for being raised by humans. Your elven blood would want you to explore what it fetl coursing through your being from the planes flow...energy lines if you would. Even if raised by humans, they have mages as well. You never went under the training of one?"

Meilikki picked up the rock, felt it around, rolled it in her palm. It took her a long time before she nodded and smiled at Keely. "Yes, I tihnk this will do." She tucked the stone into a belt pouch and left it there. She was feeling a bit better.

"Thank you Keely, for your help." She stepped off of the grave, looking around. She had another llittle step to this, but that would have to wait. "I need to compose another letter. Care to join me for that as well?"

A small, pixie like creature watched Kimmuriel and his exchange with King Jiscal. It fluttered around on wings much like a butterfly, staying close to the ceiling. Could the others see it? Perhaps, it wasn't concerned. Even if they saw, they would not understand. Most did not.

It giggled and spun around before vanishing in a small spray of sparkling dust.

Bode poked at Onyx were he lay, still staying at the clinic though his brother seemed to think he was on the mend. She had grown a bit now, the small dress like shirt Piper had given her was shorter in the leg and she was a bit ganglier.

"Gardian Onyx? Why are you always here now?" Poke again. "Gardian Onyx?"

Keely beamed with the apparent accomplishment she had made. It was nice to know she could do something so simple and please so much. Not that she didn't like tending the horses or what not but it was nice to lay off of all the work sometimes. Thus she ran off a moment, putting the tool away and then coming back to Meilikki's side.

Her small hand slipped into Meilikki's and she took to walking back with her. "Of course I am. I have to work on my writing now don't I?" That's how it went, she wrote for Meilikki and called it practice. Though she did wonder why Meilikki never wrote or read anything given to her. Maybe she couldn't do it?

Onyx looked at the poking, and smirked lightly, swatting her with his tail in playful fashion.

"I wasn't well. and I still might not be well. so I'm recovering. How are you doing? things going alright with your father?"

For a moment, Meilikki thought of the children that had been so recently taken from her and wondered if this is what it would have been like had she been able to raise them. Would she have been so patient, she didn't know. She did know that her time was running short. She rubbed a hand breifly over the scars that criss-crossed her abdomen.

"Practice is important, isn't it?" She smiled as the girl led them back to her room. She found the writing materials needed, handed them to the girl. "What kind of a response do you tihnk I should give the King of Honoursfield?"

Bode giggled at the attention, grabbing the tail and holding it tight. "Father and I are fine. But I'm bored. There are no other kids like me to play with." Big doe eyes blinked up at him. "Why is Gardian Onyx unwell?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 7:38 pm

"Yup, mama always said that patience is the most important thing sometimes." And being human, she wasn't aware how hard patience could be sometimes now was she? But that was the beauty of being an innocent child, you didn't have to think of such things.

But back in Meilikki's room and she settled at the desk with writing materials in front of her. "Well...that depends on your answer. If it's yes then I think it should be a little more casual than if it was a no. Formal is good for no answers."

"Well. I did something I probably shouldn't have with a woman that wasn't to be trusted and she..injected me with somethign that made me unwell."

Picking up Bode and plopping her on his lap.

"But hopefully I'll be all better soon, and then maybe we can go someplace and find you some kids to play with. maybe Hounorsfield..or perhaps the fortress. Keely and you woudl probably get along nicely."
