Wrapping little fingers around Meilikki's own she slipped off the bed and started to lead since there was no stated objection from the woman. And when there wasn't a verabl objection or protest, well to children that was an absolute agreement and they were right.

But a nod as she started leading Meilikki from the room, slowly of course, knowing now that the woman had once been blind and wasn't used to a lot of things. And she barely left her room so she wouldn't be used to a lot of the fortress either.

"Nope, it's not. But that's how it's supposed to be because those are just stories." Well at least he child knew the boundry between reality and fantasy. "Don't worry Meilikki, I have plenty for you to borrow some."

Her footsteps faultered along the way, used to placing complete trust in her guide. The newly aquired eyesight was conjealing the flow of her trust. If she concentrated, she faultered. If she llet it be, she grew frightened. Her feet couldn't quite calculate the depth to the floor with only the information from her eyes. It wasn't enjoyable.

The stairs were the hardest, and took some time with meil clutching the rail.

She paused before going out the door. "I'm releived to have what bravery you can lend me, Keely. Maybe one day I can pay it back."

It was slow going, but unlike other excited children, Keely didn't complain once about it, nor tug faster or try to push Meilikki along, let her take her pace as she wanted and she was merely the hand to hold the Meilikki needed to help her get through the place.

A look at the door before she pushed it open with one hand then a smile up to Meilikki with a little laugh. "Ah don't worry about it. It's on the house this time. Friends don't make other friends pay for certain things. This is one of those things. Just squeeze my hand when you get scared, that will make it better."

Thus she eased Meilikki out the fortress. She was careful with the woman, trying to pick the smoothest paths that lead to where the rocks grew different and kind of glittery. She didn't know who Meilikki was looking for, but she knew that this was where she always looked, so it had to be around here somewhere.

Whatching the ground made her disey. Looking at the grave made her eyes water. She closed her eyes for a time and let Keely guid her. This was much easier. The mound of rock and metal grew closer quickly.

"Friends are dear things to have then, aren't they?" She did not stop sqeezing the girls hand.

She felt her toe hit the grave site, and sank slowly to her knees before attempting to open her eyes.

"Everyone needs friends, even the people who are bad have them. Can't survive without someone else..." Perhaps she didn't understand how profound a statement that indeed was, but that was what she had said regardless as she led Meilikki on, only squeezing back on the hand she held in a form of support.

Watching Meilikki sink down to her knees, Keely rocked on her heels slightly and then looked back to Meilikki. "I know you don't like to have your eyes open when you move about, but you have to get used to it. Just take baby steps."

"If humans lived longer lives, everything would be done slow. But then, we'd get no-where."

She opened her eyes, the glittering stung them and made it difficult to keep them open. She traced her fingers along the rock, finding deposites that she'd rather not have seen. A ruby...that would have been from his eye. An emerald...one of his scales. Smears ofg old, silver...other things that she didn't know the names of, maybe adimantium, copper....

She took in a shuddering breath. "He wanted to die besides his...first master's grave. He told me about it, several times. When he felt that he could no longer serve my kind, he'd ask for death. Travel to her grave, slowly close his his eyes in the peaceful embrace of the afterlife. But I suppose no one really dies the way they want to."

She stood, stepped on to the rock, looking around for something.

"Going slow all the time isn't fun...sometimes fast is really fun and even better." Though there were times for slow...like when one was eating icecream. Yes, that was a good time to go slow in eating the treat. A child's mind, how wonderful.

But she merely stood there next to Meilikki, letting the woman have her time, her own eyes roaming over the metals and gems...she didn't see much of these things so close. Last piece of fine metal she had been close to was her collar that was long gone by now.

"Some decisions aren't left to us who are mortal." The line sounded memorized and she recited it as such as well...obviously she had heard it a number of times from someone else. But she was attentive to watching Meilkki again as she stepped up...didn't want her falling. "What are you looking for?"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 26, 2006 11:03 am

She smiled a bit. "What little control we mortals have. How presumptuions for the rest of the world to make decisions for us."

She was looking for something very particular. But it was difficult, she wasn't used to seeing or picking out colours and items, though she knew what they were. Her eyes got confused easily, blending colours, mistaking one thing for another....damn these eyes.

"A stone of sorts. It will probably be about the size of a peach pit, round. Dark red, maybe even black."

A look over the expanse of multicolored and gemmed rock. A peach pit? But that was such a small thing to look for in something so big. Was that needle in the hay stack thing going on. But getting up on the rocks as well she took to looking for it as well. After all, she could tell the colors and what not. Though she looked none the less. "There's a bunch of red ones over here Meilikki."

Meilikki breifly examined those stones that Keely had found, but they didn't quite feel like the right ones. "I don't tihnk the one I am looking for will be with others of it's kind. This one is unique." Although she looked a moment longer, just to make sure.

She was moving around what she hoped had been Tanundra's chest. "It may very well be buried
."

A little look of annoyance. Why did the little rock have to be difficult. But she took to following Meilikki not, pointing things out for yes or no answers and then going about correcting Meilikki if she thought a wrong color or asked her something. Then a little thinking look. "I'll be right back." Running off to the stables a moment and then coming right back, a little pick axe in hand. "We can dig with this."

"Then I guess I shouldn't of." the young elf mutter lightly. Sighing a bit Arthur raised his head and grabbed his things, placing his katana back onto his belt while he grabbed his violin suitcase in his left hand as he stood up. "Thanks for your time Sevilin, I should get going I'll see you around maybe..." With a light nod Arthur took off and left the dining hall quicker than he came in the first place.

As he walked down the hallway his eyes traveled from one female slave to the other, each one always throwing winks or giving him a some sexy hello; and each time he looked at one his body was telling him to go for it to just take one of them back to his room and have his way with them, after all they are just slaves.

Arthur groaned weakly as he tugged on the collar of his shirt, the more he looks at one salve the less his mind keeps him in check of doing anything stupid. Then he saw her again, the same slave who was bugging him two weeks ago in the kitchen. Cursing lightly he tried to get pass her fast enough but he felt her hand grab his arm and stop him in his tracks. Turning his head slowly to her he was greeted by the same smile and same voice that started all of this two weeks ago. His heart started to pound faster as the half-elf said hello and started to speak to him, reminding him that she would do anything if he just asked.

The next thing Arthur knew he was pulling the raven hair half-elf along has he walked up to his room. "You said you do anything? then fine I'll give you something to do." When they reached his room Arthur opened the door and pushed the slave inside as he followed her right behind, closing the door and locking it so they couldn't be disturbed. A few minutes later playful noises and other sounds could be heard coming from his room, some loud enough to have the other slaves pause to look at the door in wonder.

It wasn't till a few moments later that a slave came to Sevilin, bending down sligthy to whisper something in his ear. To which he chuckled. "No restraint at all..." Why was he happy about this turn of events? That meant that now they would focus on Arthur because he would indeed give in...and that Sevilin got a nice chunk of that pot. Of course he had got in on it...it made him happy to make Arthur squirm.

And sine Sevilin was lord and master of the house right now...all those girls were looking to get in good with him by making his guesstimated date the right one, or with two days on either side as were pot agreements. Oh he was a happy drow.

Hours upon hours later the half-elf could be seen leaving Arthur's room with a happy look on her face and lightly closed the door behind her to leave Arthur alone in peace. Inside Arthur was on the bed, covered in bed sheets with a large grin on his face. Wow... Arthur sighed in enjoyment and slowly got up out of bed, pausing a minute to let the blood rush back through his body before he grabbed his clothing. A few minutes later the young elf left his room and began wandering around the halls with a smile plastered on his face, not caring who he bumped into or who wanted to talked to him.

Salmander's Whip swayed with the gental rocking of the subterranian lake, more or less invisible to the known world. Currently it was under crewed by about ten drow sailors, and two drow wizards, but she made do with what she had.

Earlier in the year, the Integrity was tracking Salmander's Whip using practically the only method concivable, which was not always accurate. In order to persuide the elves and halfling to cease their hunt of the drow ship, a decoy was built out of the remains of the Deep Water Armada. The decoy was a stunning copy of the original ship, but lacked most of the magical charms and enchantments that made the Salmander's Whip the frightful sailing vessel it is. The twin ship sank, taking along with her ten drow sailors and two drow wizards, and one magical scimitar. The battle had weakened the elvish ship slightly, which caused them to doubt the success of their battle. They were later lured into a trap, using the available armies of Dimitri the former demi-lich usurper.

The surviving elves, around one fifth of those who went to the battle, returned to the Integrity where they have been more or less stranded because they lack the man power to sail the ship away from Deep Water. Currently, the crew of the Integrity has been supported by slaves from the Salmander's Whip in an odd twist of fate. In order to battle Dimitri's forces, the captain of the Salmander's Whip joined forces (more accurately twisted the arms of the captain of the Integrity) to create a formidable deffence for the rather weak and powerless nation of Deep Water, and subsequently Honoursfield. The Integrity floats about the Gulf of Deep Water watching for Orcish Dreadnaughts which threaten to sail upon the Triumverate Fortress as of late, but due to the destruction of the ground force, merely lay moored sever hundred miles to the south west of the gulf.

Deep Water remains relitively calm these days, with only a subtle shortage of drinkable water, eatable food, and ever other necessity for living due to the dearth. The currently have decent trading relationships with a clan of dwarves that recently set up an Iron mine, and steel factory, somewhere in the area. The only other major source of trade is a distant city-state called Dragnon, which requires several months to travel too due to the terran of the underdark. The new royal family seemed to be keeping things in working condition, as well as holding a fairly liberal governemnt, banning slavery within their nation (every territory marked on the map) and creating a welfare system which enable a smoother flow of food from the ships to the market with as little peddling as possible (a result of the majority of the peddlers being killed during the uprising). Steel goods are becoming more prominant in the nation, more people own at lest one iron fork, and one iron or steel knife. The currancy had changed from the common steel coin to the Dragnonian gold coin. The fishing fleet has had a tremendous amount of success over the last few weeks, as what ever was eating all the fish had stopped eating them all.

All was going pretty much according to Captain Tarathiel's, also known as Prince Kimmuriel, plan. Though, the word 'game' would be a more accurate assessment of his meddling.
