thanks for the tips, setzer and rayinte. we walked around a bit in the nice weather and got some taco bell, and did the boring stuff we usually do on a sunday, like getting groceries. the routine-y-ness helped, i think.

and we also wrote our cheques to the place to which they asked for the donations in lieu of flowers. so we did something for him, which was nice.

Oy. Oy vey. x.x
I know that he and I joked before we went in there that it'd probably be like seeing a bunch of people that had been mass-brainwashed, but I wasn't expecting it to seriously be like that. Even their replies were like they were all drones.
Not to mention that one statue freaked all three of us out. Sooo glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that. Wish I'd taken a picture, though.

And seriously, what's up with the little girls being "brides" of God, and yet the boys aren't something similar? D: Although it's amusing that Alice was the one to point that out to me.

Iunno. I guess it's just a good thing that I was raised without much religion. /rant

Thats because we all know God leaves the little boys for the priests.

Simple. Catholicism is one of the most sexist religions in the world. Women are property and their sexuality must be controlled SOMEWAY. God knows we're all evil harlots and whores, bringing good men down. Look at Eve, look at Delilah, look at Jezebel! They even portrayed Mary Magdalene as a prostitute for millenia before it came out that *gasp!* she was actually the first apostle and Jesus' wife.

...and my lack of religion is making itself apparent again, 'cause I have no idea who Delilah and Jezebel are.
But I did pick up on the whole sexist thing today from watching it. Made me kind of sad.

Delilah was a temptress. She learned Samson's source of power, which was his long hair through a pact with God, and told his secret to the Philistines for money. They cut his hair, gauge out his eyes, and make him a slave. But they forget to keep cutting his hair. So once it grows back, he tears down the pillars of a building, killing himself and everyone inside.

All in all, Samson was a womanizer and if a slut got the better of him, more power to her.

I don't really remember Jezebel very well.
