"And you don't have to make it up to me, I told you... we don't get to choose who we care for. A-and... I t-trust you." she added, smiling a little weakly. "But if you really want to see Tynan, put some shoes on, Nee-san."

"I don't own any" she said. Then smiling, delighted her lil sis trusted her. She scooped up Lilly and girnning headed out into the snow
"Just hold onto me lil sis. You'll be warmer that way" she said happly. It felt good to know, she woudln't betray that trust, not for anything in the world.

Arlen's rocklike sleeping abilities never did work when he was sick. Gently he grabbed the hem of Lily's shirt as she got up. "Don't go," he pleaded softly.

"Wait!" Lily called to Ukaia, having caught Arlen's request. "Arlen..." she whispered to the woman, squirming. "I'm sorry... I wanted to go, but... he needs me. Please... you stay too. We'll go see Tynan together tomorrow."

Ukaia stopped short and put her down
"Yuoc an stay.. i still. .i want to see him" she said msiling at her
"We'll visit together. Mabye Tynan has a spell he's heard of to stop this silly behavior of mine ok?" she said then hugged her tightly
"I'll be back tomorrow, or you can come to town. He's in the bulding right outside of the market" she said smiling happly

"Okay." Lily answered reluctantly, nodding. "Just... be careful. And I do wish you'd come back tonight. Be well, sis." she told the other woman, then went back inside and to Arlen, sitting and putting his head in her lap again. "I'm sorry, sweetie." she whispered. "I won't go."

"See you later Sis" she said shutting the door behind her. The snow was blowing hard and the wind wipping. It was freezing out. She msiled slightly as she took a few steps away. She'd stay out for a bit, and then go back inside. She wanted to visit Tynan with Lily, and he'd saidit was late anyway
"I wish.. you could freeze these feelings" she murmmued to the storn raging around outside..
"Make them goa way so i never hurt my lil sis again..' she whispered

Still, Lily winced; with the recent conversation, that hurt. "She... she wanted to go see a friend in town." she murmured, trying to sound cheerful. "She'll be back tomorrow, she said."

Ukaia stood still outside. She felt the wind wipping her hair up and around hitting her face somtimes. The snow mixed in with it,making it wet, and white and tangeld.
She chuckled soflty. and pictured hersef in a flowing white dress, she'd look like a snow maiden. She'd seen one once. All white hair.. a white flowing dres, pale skin, eternally sad look.
Uakai'd bene in her cage.. outside in a snow storm, shedseen her.. though the blowing wind, she'd given ukaia shelter, whispered to her. And had vanished by morning.
"I wonder.. whatever happened to her" she murmmued. cource.. as far as ukaia knew, it might have just been a halousination.. but it had felt so real. She held out her arms, her feet compltetly numb, as well as her ears and tail.

"You're welcome, Arlen." Lily murmured, leaning down to kiss him softly. "I'm sorry for waking you... go back to sleep, sweetheart."
Almost as if answering Ukaia's thoughts, a form moved towards her in the snow, covered in the white fluffy stuff. As it got closer, it raised a hand to shade it's eyes from the wind, squinting. "Ukaia? Princess?" came a voice; it was Cerridwyn.

Ukaia blinked startled. Had she called the snow maiden back? Had it really worked.. then she blinked a few more times.. the voice..
"Cerri!!!" Ukaia said and ran at her.. tackling her in a hug

Grossly unprepared for that reaction, Cerri fell to the ground, laughing and wrapping her arms around Ukaia as she did. "Yeah, it's me, Princess. What are you doing out here? It's freezing!"

"'Kay," Arlen said, clutching the blanket around him and wishing there was a way for him to sleep with his head in Lily's lap and with his arms around her at the same time.
