He took a seat, in the booth next to him a girl was sitting alone with what looked like a rather large order of unhealthy food. He didn't meant to stare, but he had never seen food like that before. He picked up a menu and began to scan it for anything that looked good.

Billy watched as Chris grabbed a drink and took a seat. He looked absolutely pitiful. Billy's heart went out to Chris, and whatever he was experiencing. He knew if something came between him and Teddy....

He looked down at Teddy who nodded the go-ahead to read the text. Billy turned back to the small device and started to read....

And as he did, Teddy and Chris could see his expression darken. His eyes narrowed and red patches had begun to blotch his face...

Uh, dude? Are you having a stroke or something?

*Billy could be such a derp sometimes but he was still a friend. A friend that stared at Chris's a** but a friend nonetheless.*

We can get you the nurse.

Cassie looked at the huge amount of food... but barely touched it.

" I guess... I'm just not that hungry."

Cassie sighs and pays for the food and leaves a tip then begins to walk out..

Billy looked up and shook his head at Chris, then looked back down. He closed the cell shut with a snap and looked wide-eyed at Teddy.

"What. A. b***h!"
PostPosted: Sun May 01, 2011 8:44 pm

*Chris sighed and tonelessly replied.*

She's not a b***h.

*It may have been a bad idea to show Billy that text. He didn't want magic pranks happening to Cassie even if had dumped him in heartless way. With no explanation. Right after two people tried to kill him.*

Teddy stood up and reached for the phone.

"Babe, calm down."

"Calm down?" Billy blurted, clearly angry for Chris. "Calm down!? Teddy, did you read this? She didn't even have the stones to talk to Chris's face! She sent a text like a common coward! Chris here is a class act! He deserves better than something so ... cowardly!"

"Babe..."

"What!?"

Teddy pointed to where Chris was seated and Billy's face fell.

"Oh...Chris. I'm sorry!"

*Chris took the phone back from Teddy. He looked rather pathetic.*

I don't understand why she did this. She won't even tell me. She's blocked me from her phone. I spent almost all my money on her for Christmas and...I can't even give her what I bought.

...

And I still love her.

*God...he hated himself right now. So pathetic...not even pathetic. Pathetisad.*

"She's still a b***h in my humble opinion."

While Teddy put his shirt back on, Billy plopped onto the floor in front of Chris and took his hands in his own, not in a loving way, but in a show of support between two friends.

"Things will work out Chris. They may not work out the way we hope, but they always work out the way they're meant to. The Fates are three cruel sisters but..." He gave Chris's hands a squeeze. "You have friends a plenty. People who care about you and who are there for you. Now c'mon..."

He smiled and tried to get Chris to look at him eye to eye.

"Who's up for an Aliens marathon?"

"Aliens?" Teddy questioned. "I'd have thought you'd go for Sound of Music again."

Billy shook his head.

"No way! Nothing is more therapeutic than Aliens!"

Yeah...a movie...

*Chris watched the movie but hardly paid attention to what was going on. Without Cassie...he had nowhere to go for Christmas. He hadn't been invited to her home but he had thought she might ask him like she did for Thanksgiving. He couldn't go home. He couldn't be with Cassie. Chris never felt more alone in his life.*

Billy leaned back against Teddy, a Vanilla Coke in his own hand, but he hardly paid any attention as Sigourney Weaver laid waste to a nest of Aliens. His eyes kept straying to Chris who had his eyes on the screen but Billy knew well enough that he wasn't seeing anything. His thoughts were clearly elsewhere.

As were Billy's.

Ohhhhh that b***h.

Billy spoke up during a lull in the movie.

"Chris, wanna crash here with us tonight?"

Uh...no. I should go. You guys probably want to be alone. Someone should be happy with the one they love.

*Chris plodded back to his room and dropped on to his bed.*

Hartley Rathaway

A free day from school didn't mean a free day from all responsibilities, and so the late afternoon found Hartley sitting in Doctor Quinzel's office for his weekly session.

He could hardly keep the smile off his face.

"Well, chee, Hartley, what're you so chipper for today?" Doctor Quinzel asked, poking the air between the two of them with her pencil. "Didja have a good week?"

"It had its ups and downs," Hartley replied, leaning back confidently in his chair. As soon as he did that, the Doctor scribbled something on her notepad. Cripes. Nothing made him more nervous than the thought that the tiniest move he made somehow gave her more access into his personality. He straightened up. More scribbling. It was a vicious cycle! "Finals had me incredibly nervous, but the class I was stressing the most about, I scored an A." Hartley decided to omit the part where the teachers all rose up and tried to kill the students. That would have led to far more scribbling than he wanted to see.

"Uh huh, I see." The good Doctor replied, twirling a pigtail with one finger. "And how are things going out of school? You started a new relationship recently."

"It's going GREAT!" Hartley replied, leaning back again. More scribbling. Ugh. "He understands where I'm coming from. Or if he doesn't understand, he lets it go, at least. I feel like I could get away with anything with him. No boundaries. No judgment. The perfect boyfriend."

Doctor Quinzel frowned. Really? Frowning? After he'd told her how perfect Wallace was?

"You can get away with anything with him? Can you expand on that, Hartley?" Now it was Hartley's turn to frown. Why was she stuck on that? He decided to try to explain.

"I mean that, like, for example, hypothetically, if I got into trouble, he would be willing to help me out, without judging me or getting angry. He'd keep me from getting in too deep. He doesn't try to stop me from doing what I do. From being me. It's freedom, no consequences with him. WHY do you keep scribbling?" Doctor Quinzel looked up from her notebook.

"Don't mind me, sweetie, I'm just taking notes."

"Yeah, well, when you take notes, that usually means something bad." The Doctor set down her pencil and tilted her head at Hartley.

"It's not that its bad, Hartley. Its just that I've already diagnosed you, as you know, as borderline schizophrenic with a narcissistic complex. And here you sit and define your 'great' relationship to me in terms that revolve completely around yourself, your actions and your freedom. Relationships involve give and take-" Doctor Quinzel paused here and took a framed photo of herself and some other clown and shoved it facedown on the desk. "-and that means both parties. What you're describing to me is a relationship of enabling."

Hartley got hot and balled up his fists.

"I've only been talking to you about it for five minutes! How dare you start tossing around buzzwords and telling me what I'm doing wrong! We're both HAPPY." The Doctor put up her hands and slowly shook her head.

"Relax, sweetie. Relaaaaaaaaaax. I'm not saying you're having a bad relationship. I'm letting you know that you have to work on it to keep it from going the way of the dodo. Your guy, that's another human being right there. And he's going to have needs too, right? You are aware of this?"

Hartley sucked the inside of his lip for a moment.

"Well...yes."

"And what are those needs? Tell me more about your relationship."

Hartley sat in his chair and sulked. What were Wallace's needs? What did that even mean? Martinis. He probably needed martinis. And argyle sweaters? And...

"Okay, so I'm not really sure if he's ever told me what his needs are. I'll work on that."

"Great!" The Doctor beamed and scribbled a few more notes in her notebook. "Y'know, if the two of you would like to have a joint session, all ya haveta do is let me know. It could work wonders!"

"Yeah, right." Hartley got up and grabbed his coat. "Are we done?"

"Yup! Since I'm sure you won't listen to my medication recommendation again."

"Nope, I won't."

"Then, I'll see you next week, sweetie!"

"Right." Hartley zipped up his coat and headed back to the dorms.

"Oh. My. GAWD! Are you KIDDING me!?"

Mary Marvel looked like she was just about ready to drop a delightful load when Billy sat across from her in the cafeteria during breakfast, telling her the latest round of Hero High gossip.

Billy had watched as a miserable Chris had retreated to his dorm room to spend an uncomfortable night alone, all by himself, when he and Teddy would have been more than happy to keep him company, to try and keep his mind off of things.

Still, he didn't want to reveal too much. For one, he didn't want to cause Chris any harm or embarrassment, and two, it was nobody's goddam business. This was all a matter of going to bat for Chris, and giving Cassie a bit of what for. She deserved it and so much more.

Mary asked in wide-eyed wonder, "And she didn't even tell him face to face!?"

Billy shook his head. "Nope! I didn't see the text myself." (He lied, yes, but he knew Mary's penchant for interrogation for courtly gossip.) "But she just treated him like dirt! She didn't even have the common decency of telling him to his face! A message! Can you believe that?"

Mary shook her head as she stabbed her fork into her waffle. "Unbelievable. And all this time we thought Powell was the fly in that soup!"

Billy shrugged. "And all this time it was Cassie. Those two had so many Teen Drama Island moments, and everyone was always blaming Chris..."

"And all this time it was Cassie." Mary finished the thought. "She is really becoming the biggest b***h on campus."

"Yeah." Billy sipped at his vanilla iced coffee. "I think she's giving Lisa a major run for her money in that regard."

Many a minute later, and Billy walked out of the cafeteria, hands in his pockets and whistling, confident Mary would do the work for him, and for Chris.
