Hurdy was tracking foot prints he found on the ground as he manuvered threw the thick forest, he saw no where infront of him, and had to travel on the lowest branches to see, even walking on the ground once in a while. The prints were getting deeper, so some one must have been running recently,and would be ahead of him, he would catch him soon. But why would they be running away from Leaf? That was the most accepting place Hurdy could think of, they must have done something bad, or they are criminals. All the better, Hurdy himself was the same way.

"Okay, the next technique I have in store for you to learn, Velar is called Genjutsu release, which shouldn't be too difficult to for the most part. This is a Ninjutsu technique where the idea is to focus all of your chakra and scream "release." This is something that a ninja can perform on themselves or on others, and it will effectively ward off most Genjutsu, unless extremely powerful or when used in conjunction with an advanced bloodline. But under most circumstances, it works. I'm not a Genjutsu user, but I can show you the proper way to focus your chakra and what to do afterwards." Sakura nodded slightly. Velar stood in place, his eyes on Sakura, as he awaited further instructions.

"Now what you what to do, is convert your stamina into chakra at this point, and just focus it through your entire body. Make sure to get a feel of how chakra feels when it is flowing through your body, that way if you ever have to use this technique, you will know when chakra is flowing throughout your entire body." Sakura said. Velar eyes closed, as he began to concentrate on summoning chakra all throughout of his body. The process was going rather well from what he could tell, and as he continued to send the chakra all throughout his body to make sure that there was a steady amount flowing, he opened his mouth to speak to Sakura" Okay, I'm ready for the next part of the technique." Velar said, in a low, but yet, slightly deep, type of voice.

"There really is nothing else to learn for the most part, Velar, all that you have to do is interlock both of your hands together at this point, and say, "Release." And depending on how strong the Genjutsu is, it may or may not release you from it. However, there is an alternative, if you can't use this technique. Like.. Lets say that you are all out of chakra. At that point, something as simple as causing pain in your body should work, but again, sometimes that may not even work, if the Genjutsu is strong enough." Sakura said. Velar’s eyes then opened up at that point. "Sounds very interesting for the most part." Velar said.

"So that's all there is to that whole technique? Nothing else to learn?" Velar questioned. "Nope. That's the whole technique." Sakura said. "That's another move I know then." Velar said, with a smile wrapped around his face.
"It would seem like it. However, the next technique should kick things up a little bit." Sakura said, with a slight smile.

Hurdy stopped at a tree when he heard talking from the other side of it, two ninja arguing over something. "Im telling you, we need to get out of here, my god tells me so..." Hurdy didn't look yet, he would listen somemore. "Forget your god damned god, the hokage has a large bounty on her head, lets kill her and take it, plus we can nab any other demons while we're at it!" Hurdy looked more concerned now, they were talking about assasination of a kage. He would interupt this meeting nicely. Hurdy stepped out from around the corner and looked at the two men.

Hurdy watched as the regular looking man stood and came to him, and drew a wierd circle on the ground, stepping into it, he tried to bind HUrdy. "Well, since it doesn't work, I guess I could teach you this technique. You get the blood of the enemy, and eat it. Step into the circle and then they are yours. You can stab your self, and they will do the same, like the same jutsu as the Nara clan. You will truely be a master of power now, since you are wooden and a puppet, you won't get hurt like a human opponent would. This is acually the perfect jutsu for you if you think about it..."

Velar, having learned Genjutsu release from Sakura, had a second technique he would like to learn in mind. To learn this technique he would have to find TenTen. Velar stopped by the Ramen shop hoping to hear some information about where he could find his next teacher. Two men were already at the counter eating large bowls of Ramen. Velar slid some money across the counter and the cook brought him back a medium sized bowl of ramen. Velar tasted the beef flavored broth just as he heard one of the men, dressed in a green unitard speak up, "Well TenTen has recently taken to training in the old clearing on the other side of the mountain" said the man boisterously to his lunch partner. Velar took several big gulps of the broth until he could feel its warmth in his stomach. Stepping back outside of the stand he knew which mountain the man in green had mentioned. To the north was a small mountain with the faces of previous leaders of Hidden Leaf. Velar had never been on the other side because all he knew existed over there was more forest.

1/9 Rising Dragon

Velar began walking down the street. He noticed as the sun set fewer and fewer people were running around outside. Velar quickly found himself approaching the westernmost side of the carving. As he neared the mountain, at the foot of which was located the Hokage's house, he noticed several leaf ninja following him from rooftop to rooftop. Apparently even in this time of peace Konoha was taking particular care not to repeat the assassinations of the past. Velar walked calmly in an arc around the mountain bypassing the Hokage's dwelling. Once he reached the northernmost exit his followers were no longer concerned with him and returned to their posts.

2/9 rising Dragon

Velar walked through the autumnal foliage. Many of the trees were tinted with orange and yellow. Leaves had begun to gather all across the forest as small wisps of wind pushed them into meaningless pilgrimages across the forest floor. Velar continued walking until he reached a small clearing of the trees. The light of sunset emphasized the gold and red of the dying leaves. In the middle of the field he saw the girl. She knelt down in the grass that had grown. Velar could only make out her outline by the fact the sun was behind her. She looked very petite and was obviously rolling something up. Velar stepped from the bushes to get a closer look and to make him self known. He purposely carried his arms farther out to the side than natural to show he meant no harm on the woman. She looked up and quickly finished rolling up what Velar recognized as an extremely long scroll and tucked it away.

Velar was first to initiate contact, "Are you Ten-Ten?" he asked "If you know me then I guess it is only right that I know you." She replied with a small smile. "Excuse me" Velar responded "Don't feel threatened. I have done guard time for the Hokage and I recognize you from the file we have on you. You are a Mizu from Hidden Mist. Your country has approved a training card for you. You are free to ask any trainer who will take you." She responded purposely giving him more information than even he knew "Will you" Velar shot back as he took in the information that even the elders of his village had not given him.

4/9 rising Dragon

"I have one technique that you will find useful. My Rising Twin Dragons will make use of the small weaponry you are accustomed to." TenTen pulled out two extra scrolls. She placed them on the ground and knelt down into the grass with Velar. "First" she began "you must seal all the weapons you want to use into these scrolls. Velar emptied his pockets of everything he had. He had a small pile of shuriken, and even smaller stash of kunai, and three large piles of needles of various lengths and circumferences. TenTen unfurled the scroll and looked expectantly at Velar. Velar began placing his weapons in a neat roll along the first scroll. Once he had lined up all his weapons He knelt at the end opposite TenTen. Over all he was about thirty feet from her. She called to him to explain the next part of the sealing process, "This paper already has a sealing spell on it. Focus your chakra into the paper so it may absorb the weaponry."

5/9 Rising Dragon

Velar pulled his palms together to make the sign of the dragon. He felt his chakra. He imagined a great dam. The Dragon sign pulled the chakra to his arms where it throbbed in the veins. Once Velar began feeling the light tingling in his legs from lack of the special energy he dropped his palms hard onto either side of the scroll. Two red lines shot down the paper. One by one the weapons puffed into smoke leaving only kanji representations of what was sealed in each particular spot. The paper conducted his chakra perfectly. As the red line extended down either side the weapons were absorbed. Quickly though he felt he had over exerted himself. He could see two kunai at the farthest end of the scroll. With an added push he bit into his lip focusing his gaze on them. The first one disappeared but still the final one remained. Velar didn't need to push any more chakra into the paper and he realized this. He simply needed to focus. He stared longingly at the final kunai; his hands were beginning to cramp up as they lay on the paper with his chakra slowly flowing out. After a moment of extreme focus the final kunai popped into the paper and Velar felt some of his chakra rush back out of the paper and into his arms. He sat back and took a breath.

6/9 Rising Dragon

"Doing it all at once wasn't necessary but I guess I can't call you undedicated." TenTen called laughingly. She had already unfurled a second scroll and sealed many weapons into it for Velar. Velar and TenTen each rolled up one of the scrolls. She smiled at his as she brought both of them to him. "Let’s see how you think they should be used" she asked as she stepped back to give him ample room. Velar has heard of the technique before and knew loosely the principles by which it worked but he thought it was dangerous to put him in a vortex of blades without any prior experience of a technique like this. Velar didn't even have the benefit of having seen this technique used before. One part of the equation was spin. He would have to throw the scrolls to keep them high enough and at such a spin that he could use the weapons. If he threw the scrolls to his or too low he limited his weapon options by not being able to easily reach some of the symbols. If he added to much spin he would miss some of the weapons as they passed by, if he didn't add enough his effectiveness would drop because he wouldn't get new weapons as fast as he could throw them. The part that was mostly concerning Velar’s mind was the speed required in his hands. He could easily hit many of the weapon symbols but if he didn't move his hands fast enough he could easily fumble the weapons or cut himself.

7/9 rising Dragon

Velar held a scroll in each hand. He held his hands out to his sides and crouched slightly. With a flick of his ankles he was airborne and could feel the part of the scroll that he held onto become smaller and smaller as it unraveled beneath him. Velar found himself completing several spins on the way up. Just before he hit the apex of his leap he began calling forth the weapons. Velar saw a kunai symbol in his lower left eye. His hand brushed the symbol and the cold steel came out sideways putting a small gash in his palm. He flung it at the ground where it landed at TenTen's feet with a quiet "wip" noise from the grass. Velar could feel himself descending already. He quickly mastered the hand motion this technique took. He would touch a symbol and pull back slightly until he knew instinctively how each weapon reacted upon appearing from he scroll. He quickened pace raining down needles and kunai with he occasional shuriken until he landed on the ground with the scrolls lazily making their final descent as they wafted down the few final feet to the earth. The last rays of sunlight stretched out over the trees and a gust of wind lazily pushed a collection of leaves into the clearing. Velar looked at the small whirlwind momentarily before turning back to TenTen. He could see she was nodding and recognized this as training. That small nod told him to perform the Rising Twin Dragon's Technique and pin all the leaves encroaching on the open space of the field to the ground. Velar didn't even bother to retwist the scrolls. He jumped into the air once more. This time he focused a bit of his chakra as string like appendages reaching for each symbol on the scrolls. The expenditure of a little extra energy allowed him to know what was quickly coming up to where his arms could reach. Velar unleashed a blizzard of steel from in the confines of the double helix of seal paper. He could see the leaves as they fought to fly to their dying freedom but were assaulted by many well placed steel points. Shuriken would cut in a small winding pattern taking two or three leaves with them as each was thrown. The kunai and the needles flew in perfectly straight lines almost always hitting one leaf but rarely tagging two that ventured to line themselves up.

8/9 rising Dragon

TenTen looked up at the student who had mastered the technique she pioneered so long ago. It had taken her a week to perfect each individual aspect. This Mizu chunnin had sealed all his weapons in one go and after a half hour of training almost perfected the technique as far as it could be perfected in a non-combat situation. Velar quickly found himself down to his last few instruments of the leaf catching exercise. Two needles and a shuriken. He looked out to see two leaves blow past his helix. He turned and launched his weapons. The needles passed threw the same leaf but without something behind them to stick to their small circumferences easily passed through. The Shuriken easily found its mark and curved into a violent crash were it buried itself in the root of a tree. Velar landed on the ground panicking. He had failed his training unless he could find another weapon in the scrolls. He hands passed over many symbols as the snaking paper came gently back to the earth. Each one revealed nothing to Velar. He watched as the final leaf blew away with his chances of completing his training. His right hand however finally grasped something solid. A small sickle had appeared from the scroll TenTen had filled with weapons for him. It was the last of his weapons. Both scrolls laid sleeping on the ground and Velar's feet were already firmly planted in earth but he still had one blade sparking with desire to kill the leaf as it escaped his vision. The wind carried it farther and higher. Velar took careful aim and unleashed the sickle. The curved blade made the weapon spiral like a boomerang. Velar held his breath as he watched the glint of metal get smaller and smaller. After a moment he sucked in air and pumped his fist as the sickle spiraled back, just like a boomerang, with a leaf impaled on its end. TenTen walked over clapping. She helped him reseal his weaponry and invited him to the Ramen shack for dinner.
