"Bloody traitor," Jay agreed, shaking her head.

Kibo reached towards Jay, planning to pin her against the wall behind her, but stops his hands just before they brush her collar. His voice was rough and snarling.

Kibo: You will not speak ill about Ranu around me. The Blackhearts were the most loyal crewmen and crewwomen that I've ever had. And they still are.

"My humbles apologies sir," Jay said, holding her hands up eye-level. "Didn't know that the two of ye were close, it wasn't my place,"

Kibo: The closest a man can get to another man without compromising each's heterosexual preferences. I shot him in the bloody head, remember? Necromancers use various forms of death as signs of respect. If I had a guillotine on-hand, I'd have used it.

"Strange custom," Jay said thoughtfully, "But nevertheless interesting indeed,"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 23, 2007 5:03 pm

Kibo: Why? We can raise the dead. It's a sign of trust. It's usually a kill that's easy to avoid, like a sword strike. If the other Necromancer blocks the attack, it's a sign of distrust. After all, if a Necromancer doesn't trust another to do something as simple as bring him back to life, how can he trust him with more important things? But since Ranu wasn't a Necromancer, and had no prior knowledge of the custom, I figured I'd show my respect in a way that wouldn't have him unwittingly state he distrusted me.

"Unless, of course, you hate the bloody man and hope he has the misfortune to never met another necromancer again."

Storm gave Jay a perfectly insollent look and smile to match.

"But, respect and trust are for craven's who cannot handle them and theirs properly."

"A symbol of trust, eh?" Jay said. "That's better then the customs that I've seen in other places," She shuddered as she thought of the bone cage on Pelegostos Island.

Kibo: At least when I kill someone, I have the option of bringing them back. Or when anyone else kills someone...

"Very handy skill, don't you think?" Jay said, nodding.

"Just a pain in the arse, if you ask me. I mean, shouldn't you not be trying to kil someone if you do not mean for them to die? And what if you raised someone you really want dead by accident?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 24, 2007 3:54 pm

Kibo: If you mistakenly raised someone you want dead, you kill them again in their confused and slightly shocked daze. And killing someone is usually a... single-gender sign of respect. Necromancers are still quite chivalrous people. Killing women, for any reason, is against code.

Storm had to laugh at that.

"Really? I never thought necro's were such fools still."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 24, 2007 4:03 pm

Kibo: I agree. Luckily, I cut myself off from the olden-time Necromancers years ago. As in, before I even started Necromancy.

Storm cocked her head.

"Who did you learn your magic from?"
