You don't understand, EK has over a million NPCs under his command! This isn't even a papercut. If EK is playing a General type character he should expect to loose NPCs. Everyone is way the hell too protective of NPCs, sure I can understand how I might want to ask permission to kill or wound a major NPC, like say Nelo's Admiral Veers, CW's Rusty, my own Jenel Olo, or Cale's friend Reido.

Besides that you should be willing to see them die, otherwise you find yourself overthinking every move you make, playing defensively, and ultimately loosing to someone who was willing to risk characters and loose them.

I'm not sure of the situation, but I'm just stating things to fix things that i have seen you do, such as with my characters and personal NPCs.

Besides, I believe I have TWO Revenges under my command. One is in Hutt Space, under command of Admiral Crow.

The other is with the fleet at utapau.

Damn this thread is supposed to have nothing to do with the RP except for a fanon article and now it's a full blown warzone. God people can't we resolve this stuff without ripping each other's throats out?

I warned her that she did something stupid and she ignored me CW! Then I shot her ship. What she did is among my top ten most risky tactics for a starship. Plus... I didn't think DA was even in the ship.

If you're going to fly a starship at least know when you're doing something outrageously risky... or stupid.

Maybe that would make a good OGG post. The ten riskiest things to do with a starship.

1. Blind Hyperspace Jumps – The police are on your tail and warming up a gravity well projector. You reach for the lightspeed drive throw the switch and… fly straight into a star. You are dead, idiot. The only way you survive this desperate tactic is 1. You’re absurdly lucky, or 2. You’re a force using jedi brat.

2. Skimming the Event Horizon of a Black Hole – Another case of trying to beat the Kessel run’s record, eh. So you try and worm your ship closer to the edge of those black holes… and whoops! Too close. You’re dead, again.

3. Solo Slingshot around a Black Hole – Okay at this point you should know that playing with a black hole is another one of the stupidest things around. So you decided to use that black hole to accelerate you around a 180 degree turn. As you close the ship rips in two from the tidal forces, too much gravity man… You’re dead, once again.

4. The Corona Skimmer – You’re running from the police/imps/rebels/angry mob, and decide to try and loose them by flying absurdly close to the system’s primary star. You’ve made a fatal mistake. The shields overload, the ship starts cooking and the fuel cells cook off before you fall into the steaming furnace of the sun.

5. Running the Asteroid Belt – The authorities are on your trail, and you dive into an asteroid belt. Guess what mate, you aren’t Han Solo, and if you’re driving anything bigger then a light freighter we’ll get a good laugh out of watching your ship get ground up by the asteroids.

6. Fighting Above Your Class – You’re being chased by an Imperial Ship of the Line and decided to turn and fight… and you get swatted out of the sky, smooth move bud. Unless you’re in a ship designed to survive a fight with a ship above its class you don’t stand a chance in the seven hells of corellia.

7. Playing Floating Fortress – Your base is under attack by a hostile fleet, so you hover above the base and start shooting at the troops coming down. Oh cripes, no base shields! The fleet nails you to the top of the base and laughs at the burning wreck, great plan dumb-a**.

8. Playing Tag with an Loronar Space Defense Cannon – The reverse of the last one, you try attacking an enemy base. They have shields and an LNR Turbolaser System 1 or alternatively a KDY w-165 Planetary Turbolaser. These systems have enough firepower to cripple a star dreadnaught… so guess what they’re going to do to your little ship. Boom.

9. Trying to slip through a Planetary Shield – You’re trying to smuggle goods into a planet, but you can’t get authorization to pass through the planetary shield, so you decide to try and slip in while another ship is flying with the shield down. The shield comes up and you crash your starship into it… it explodes, you die.

10. Leaving a starship unlocked and unguarded on Nar Shaddaa – Need I say more. At least this time you’re not dead… but you certainly don’t have a starship anymore.

Now now.
No need to start ganging up on people here.

It is a pointless entry in the long run, and not because of the obvious jibe at the aforementioned parties, but anyone playing that sort of character (I.E. a smuggler or outlaw) would know that stuff already.
Its redundant and doesnt really help anyone.

IT'S SOMETHING EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW AND NO-ONE SEEMS TO!!!

It's not meant as a jab at those two... I'm trying to stop repeat performances before I tear my hair out. I've seen the Floating Fortress Tactic used Three Times in my RP Career, and each time the result is the same.

I know no-one will read it... and that frustrates me even more.

I try to stop repeat performances of tactics I've seen that just plain don't work. DA isn't the first time I've seen that tactic, I'm not making a jab at her personally but a jab at the tactic they've utilized. Plus which of the listed things has EK ever pulled?

Look at the other ways to loose a ship, many of those haven't even come up in the RP. Our players tend to be a little bit smarter then to be a Corona Skimmer, but who is to say that will change.
