Ooh, with a kid in the oven it's best to think things through, especially with troop intensive armies such as the Imperial Guard. Also, you might want to invest in a display cabinet with a lock, to keep the lil' rancor away from mom and dad's toy soldier collection.

In the Fluff yeah you're right but in practice the Space marines are nothing more than extra wounds for the imperial guard.

Geeh, is that the a*****e version of the Imperial Guard?

So we are nothing more then a improvised defence until those f*ckers arrive?

The Imperial Guard is the last line of defence and they have been known to win battles without the help of Space Marines, but that is most likely something unheard of for the likes of you!

IG are the bulk of humanitie forces, and stem off most of the tide. Space Marines are the special forces, if you will, of mankind. They deal with backing up Ig in places, performing especially dangerous missions, and dealing with Tyranids (which happens much less with IG).

Imperial Armour vol. 1 has the rules for the Exterminator. (As do the Armoured Company vehicle rules) I've inquired with GW store people over at my store and they still see the Griffon, Vanquisher and Exterminator as legal vehicles that you can field. If I couldn't, I'd be having two tanks with no use other then collecting dust!

So what are you waiting for, order the parts for the meatgrinder already! Field an Exterminator and turn the alien hordes into minced meat! Donotquestionwhytherearehardpiecesofcarapaceinyourmeatjusteatit.

Then obviously, you aren't chewing it hard enough son.

Man, I really need to field that Exterminator of mine against some Nids again, almost like a harvester reaping wheats from a field. Twin-link autocannon, three heavy bolters and a heavy stubber *shrieks with glee* that's a whopping fourteen shots. No wonder marine players hate the compatibility of the Russ chassis.

My Xeno Hunters are most adept at handling Nids. Preffered enemy nids (IE hits on a 3+ in close combat, no matter what) and the Xeno Hunter Dreadnought has a pair of assualt cannons. Added to that is a full land-speeder squad, 2 HB's and a Multi-melta (and soon an assualt cannon).

BTW, what exactly is a stubber?

Much like a storm bolter (It's pintle-mounted) but an Imperial Guard only weapon.

Range: 36"
Str. 4
AP 6
Heavy 3

It's the Imperial Guard answer to the storm bolter. More fitting, as it can fire more and has a better range.
