i do agree with you on the aspects but the swooping hawks to me are more of a controlled unit. i mean close combat troops is nothing to laugh at, most later in the game is close combat, but as for the beginning of the game and in between CC. i need that little bit of control the time between banshees and striking scorpions making there way. it only takes the right unit to destroy the aspect squad. or their transport if any. so might as well stall that unit up

The new codex made me both happy and sad.

Sade because it made my old army list obsolete and and illegal because I fielded 3 squads of dark reapers as troops. I love the Harelquins dont know much about them from 2nd ed. I'm taking a fully kitted out squad of them.

I still think the avatar is waste of points better spent on an even scarier Wraithlord toting two heavy weapons.

You'll be horribly outnumbered, I think that's the main weakness. That, and your Farseer is rather bare. No wargear?

Has anyone realized the potential of mixing Skyleap and Grenade Packs with Swooping Hawkes, under the new codex? Sheer evilness. biggrin

Your combat specialists seem a little small for my liking, a good round of shooting would see them become bery ineffective. That in mind, hug them close to as much cover as possible, the scorpions especially. The Wave Serpent on the Avenger unit would likely be put to better use carrying the Banshees around as a crisis response team. I don't like Shuriken Cannons on Vypers, their speed makes them ideal for tank hunting roles. Bright Lances would be my choice, but if you want them to be anti-light armor/infantry Star Cannons would do well. The Jetbikes should do well at capturing objectives or table quaters in the last turn or two, assuming you can keep them alive until then.

Under the new codex, I'd actually take a scatter-laser over a Starcannon.

Both are good options, really. I just prefer the Starcannon because my main opponent sports a Space Marine army, and has amazing luck with saving throws, which is why I try to pack as much AP2 firepower as possible.

Unfortunately, due to the costs of our transports, our lists often end up like that.

As for the Farseer, I would have included a more tooled up version if it weren't for the points. At his barebones cost, he can be the compulsory HQ unit I need to make the force legal. I wouldn't know what to cut back on to give him more stuff, considering my current numbers.

I'm biased towards tanks, like the falcon and transports. I find them a waste of points and present too much of a target. Which is why my army only has warwalkers as the units with armour nad so far they have proven more then thier points in alot of situations. Right now I'm working on a 2000 point list and forcing to stop on my Space Marine list because of hte new codex. So far I think it's a fairly balanced force, and very mobile at that. I'll have my new list posted soon.

I was reading the new codex and it hit me! If shuriken weapon shoot SHARP POINTY ammo then they shoot have the rending ability. They have such a short range, wouldn't it make sense?
