I'm supposed to be a young up and coming gentleman. Not some kid who cries because he lets his emotions get out of control. I annoy myself as well as other people and it sucks. No one likes an emotional "crybaby". My girlfriend likes me for some reason that I still can't see. I have problems that no one can help me with and when I try and talk about them, people get annoyed, or try to cheer me up with some sort of help that generally doesn't work...

Ryugi Kazamaru That was a serious question Lang. Not joking... Break the stereotype in my head. To me girls think that sensativity=weak. Same to guys for that matter. I feel VERY emotional at times. I still cry and I'm 17 ******** years old... You're not joking, and I'm not telling. Obviously, if I dont want some macho-ego moron, then I'm not part of that stereotype. I dont like total sensitivity. I like Understanding. Not a pile of whining b***h that needs me to comfort him for every little thing. (My friend has a boy friend like this and he makes me positively ill.) Putting it bluntly, I havent found anyone worth getting to know that well. They're all idiots in some way. And if you feel that crying solves something, then go ahead and do it. Personally, it doesnt change a thing. The problems are still there, the past will not change because you force your eyes to leak water. If nothing comes of it, then it's not worth doing it.

SandViper Evil Spoon Child Dude what's wrong with crying at 17? That's quite a bad stereotype you have there, hopefully you'll meet somone or many that will break it for you. Having any sort of stereotype like that is unrealistic. Yeah, 17? No problem. But once you're 18, you gotta turn off the water works... Well, some people just don't cry. My uncle died several months ago and my cousin (his son) didn't cry at all. Not even after weeks of the funeral, and he assessed his will, nothing seemed to hit the guy. He just kind of took it and said to me, "I just don't need to cry. I'm sad. Isn't that enough for everyone?" So, would it be a bad stereotype to be expected to cry during certain times?

We have people for this sort of thing, they're paid to listen smile And some do a very good job at it. I see no problem with crying as or getting caught up in emotion, your not supposed to not feel, no one is supposed to be one certain way at any age because everyone is different. Anything is fine as long as it it doesn't spill over on other people, though this seems to be your problem. Since I'm only your age I can't give any wisedom from my life experiences, but I can say that if you think some part of you is a problem, work on it. If you give the effort you might be surprised that any "mistakes" you find you have can be helped. Don't passively accept that this is how you are and always will be and leave it at that. Just don't go overboard and turn opposite.

Hmmm, sometimes you are expected to cry and others will sometimes harbor ill feelings towards you if you don't. But, it's hard to think straight when you're emotional. It should be forgiven.

I always thought that if you cried, it was for self-growth or a sort of renewal. Sometimes, you didn't have to cry for a reason but inside you knew that something had to change, unless you were releasing some stress, pain, etc.
If you feel the need to cry, do so, but try to understand why you are crying. Don't just let your emotions overrun you time and time again without figuring out why it's happening in the first place.
