Than's first words caused the stranger to draw his weapon.He held it casually as he stepped to the pond's edge.For a moment he was between the two,but he moved quickly.Moved until he was at Kai's side by the pond.He stared down at his reflection in absent-minded thought.He was guarding her in a sense,unless she shoo-ed him away.

*He decided to just let the stranger be for now, seeing as he didn't appear hostile* How can you even ask why do I care. I care because you were there for me Kai, and you accepted me for who I was. But I don't do this for obligation or for politics...... It's because I care about you..... it's just a bond... I guess. Maybe It sounds stupid but it doesn't change the fact that I care Kaiori-san. *He sighs* You did die once while I knew you....... It..... really hurt. *It was a childish way of expression but it was all he could say* Maybe I would have moved on Kaiori-san.... I won't deny that. But I would never forget you..... I couldn't..... I'd hate myself for trying. And I don't ask you to leave behind the memory of your unborn child either. *He looked at her, his eyes were soft at the memories of losing her among other pains* I'm just trying to say..... that this one event will not decide your future. Maybe I could move on from your death, as you could your child...... but I wouldn't deny the pain that it caused.... nor would I heartlessly cast aside the death of you or your baby. But does that mean I want it to happen? Iie.... I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone. It's not a matter of forgetting......It's a matter of you still being Kaiori-san. I know it hurts you, I know you're suffering, I know you're sad, and I know you feel it's your fault. I'm not telling you to not feel those things....... I believe that it's natural for you to do so, that's the kind of person you are...... but letting yourself suffer.... will only make it worse. I..... *he sighs* I don't know what I'm really asking either. I just don't want you to make yourself suffer more than you already have Kaiori-san......

*kaiori shakes head and pats the man's hand as he finds his way next to her* Than..I.. don't know what to tell you in return..right now death would be better then living..yet I'm scared to kill myself again..maybe that's why I'm doing this..I don't have to hold a blade to my gut again..but I can still fade away from all of this..it seems so simple right now..maybe I'll get over this... right now..I don't know right now *she folds her hands over her face to cover her tears*...dammit...I..I said I wouldn't cry anymore..*she mutters to herself*

The stranger gently placed his hand on Kai's shoulder and leaned next to her.It was as close to a hug he would get,as he spoke softly."He wouldn't want you to visit him with tears...He'd want you to bear a smile on that day.I'm sure of it." He knew Kai would know which "he" he spoke of.Holding his place he gently patted Kai's shouler with his left hand.His sensitive hand,the one that wasn't cold."I...Don't trust these "friends" of yours...they never want to let go.They always just want to bring you back up..to leech you dry..but never give you peace or rest..never give you time to heal.Albeit true you need food and water..being "Kaiori" and helping everyone isn't what you need.You need time to heal and be well with both life and yourself..Perhaps my view is clouded...but it's what I see is best."

*He looks at her, a sincere look to his eyes and a slight frown on his lips* Do you really believe that Kaiori-san? You still have a life..... a life where your choices make all the difference. You aren't alone Kaiori-san.... You know in your heart that it's true. Your friends still hold you dear...... I still do as well. We're afraid of losing you Kaiori-san...... but the choice is yours. If you want to leave us behind to escape from pain.... we'll let you go.... even if we really don't want to. *He watches her cover her face for a moment*..... It's okay to mourn Kaiori-san..... and it's okay to be scared. No one's telling you not to be. I didn't come in hopes of just wiping the blood and pain from you..... I came to be whatever kind of.... friend I can be. *He puts a hand on her shoulder again* You have forever to be sad or happy..... but your life can end any instant...... *He sighs and slowly takes his hand away* You still have a future.... and I hope you won' throw it away.....

*kaiori gently takes her hands down and folds them in her lap, she looks up at the man and then over at Than but her eyes rest at her lap* I...just need some time..you are right....but.. I just feel..so alone..even with all my friends.. I don't feel any better in knowing they are near me anymore... I don't want to feel..like I have to be happy for them anymore... I was glad that they smiled and felt better..but right now..I can't just get better so I can go back to them...

"You know I will do what I can..but you have caring friends around here to.Such as Pet,he loves you unlike any other...And he does not seek to use you.He has never once as I've seen brought you the pain or had you sacrifice yourself or be hurt for him.You may take the words of these Dojo fiends as you wish..but until they stop trying to hurt you..they will have no respect from me.I...Well..I have to go for now.I'm sorry Kai,please,be safe.I'll speak to you again I'm sure.."The stranger gave Kai a bit of a hug,an unsure one.He didn't know how she'd respond to it.Though,he felt compelled to.As he gently hugged her,he vanished.

*Than shakes his head lightly and looks at her, the flattest of smiles on his face* You don't have to Kaiori-san. You were there for me and everyone else so many times. Now it's time for it to be the other way around. We are here for you. If you don't want to beleive that then at least believe that me, and our friend here, are here for you. You don't have to smile if you're not happy. You don't have to laugh if you're not happy. You don't even have to listen to us if you aren't happy. You have all the time you want Kaiori-san. This time let us be there and smile for you. But we can only do that if you let us. okay....?

*He nods to her, still not really smiling* Arigatou Kaiori-san. If I ever hurt you like that man claims... then just tell me. I want to do what I can... but I can't do it if you won't tell me what you do and don't want. *He nods again. He pulls up the piece of bread and tears it in two, handing half to Kaiori* Here. You don't have to eat it now..... Eat it when you're ready.

o.o! Ah! *He instantly leans forward, wrapping his arms around her and not letting her hit the ground*.... nnnnn *He felt how light she was. She really hadn't been taking care of herself at all. He frowned and carefully picked her up, heading back to the house*

The stranger sat upon the roof of the house with a face chiselled out of stone.Blank and emotionless as he looked up to the sky.His eyes of course,revealed his true emotion as they violently bubbled,kept locked away behind the clear surface that was a wall to protect the sensitive organs.His thoughts drifted to Kaiori,and how he might help her.He knew if he moved too far from her he'd become a monster again.In a way he was using Kai as everyone did,and he cursed himself for it.He tried to justify his need by protecting her.Though his feelings towards her were genuine,he couldn't help but feel as though somehow he was on the same level as the Dojo people.His spell kept him updated on things in the house,and he'd decided to speak with Kai when she awoke.At which time,he would confide in her his motives and such.He only hoped she'd understand him.

*Than had placed Kai back in her room last night. She was face down so she wasn't laying on her broken wing. Than decided not to splint or heal it yet, since he wanted to emphasize his point yesterday that, no matter how imposing he may seem, the decision was hers. It may not do much, but he was going to play it out that way. He had at least made sure the wing was more comfortably placed. The bread he had tried to give her now sat on the table by her pillow. For the remainder of the time, Than had stayed awake, listening to the file Nana had sent him. He was still listening even when the sun came* o____o

The stranger snapped his fingers,and in a dark cloud two weapons formed in his hands.The misty cloud subsided,as he laid the two MP-5N's on the roof before him.He was sitting up,and spared a glance at the weapons.They were fully loaded and ready to fire,as were his pistols.Shrugging he drew his longsword and lay it across before him vertically.It was a simple blade,no magic or power.Just a steel sword.He didn't know why he was looking over his weapons,probably just for something to do.
