Kilik passed through the door to enter the Bug Catching Contest. The guard at the counter looked up at him. "May I help you?" he said dully.
"I'd like to enter the Bug Catching Contest," the boy replied. The guard turned to the computer and began to type in information.
"Well, you can only compete with one of them," he told him, looking at the Flareon then to the Koffing, "Who will it be?" The two Pokemon blinked at him. Koffing laughed and Flareon growled playfully.
"I'll battle with Flareon!" Kilik said, the Fire Pokemon jumping onto his shoulder. He picked up Koffing's Pokeball and called the Pokemon back. He handed the red and white sphere to the guard.
"Here. Take these. Twenty Park Balls. The contest will end when you run out of Park Balls, or when thirty minutes are up. Good luck." Kilik nodded and headed into the park.

There were plenty of trainers strewn about the park, battling with other Bug types. A boy cheered happily as he captured a Metapod, but frowned when he saw a girl hold up a Park Ball containing a Beedrill. Kilik ran a hand through his hair cooly. "Let's get cracking!" he laughed, running into the grass.

Grunt 2 unconciously took a step back and tripped. "Uh... Yeah... I mean... How dare you talk to a Rocket like me like that. Come on guys. We's are gonna beat this kid up." The grunt said as he sent out a pokemon. "Yeah!" the others yelled as they sent out theirs.
 Rocket Grunt x4 Want to Battle!

The lead grunt sent out a Magicarp while the others sent out a Seviper, Arbok, and Ariados. Mag quickly adjusted the scarf he was wearing to help hide his appearance. I'll jump in if Jeashan can't handle himself. They don't look to hard. Especially if they are using a magicarp... but the other pokemon could be dangerous.
"Prepare to loose to mine awesome team!" Grunt 2 said. "Okay Magicarp use Splash!!"

Mike quietly snuck out of the changing room, making sure to recall Nitro, who just poked his head in to have a look. "Well then," Mike said rather softly. "I think I'll head on over to the Gym." He quickly walked out the Pokemon Center, pointing a Pokeball over to Portabello, who was now fully encased in grass and twigs. The recall sent the grass blades to the ground as they filled the empty space where the Breloom once was.
Making his way over to the Lavaridge Gym, Mike took in a deep breath as he opened the sliding doors.

(( Wow, Mike just completely ignored Mitsu right there. XD ))
With the soft ding of the Pokemon Center Mitsu walked up to retrive her Pokemon. She watched Mike walk out though th sliding door without even noticing her. "Looks like I'm a ghost again," Mitsu said more so to herself than anyone. She gave a false smile and turned around to face Karri. "Let's go get this badge and leave. I don't Lavaridge's weather." Karri gave a her a strange look but didn't say anything more.

"Four on one? Honestly." Jaeshan shook his head, and jumped to his feet as the Magikarp flopped around uslessly on the ground before him. Holding up the empty Pokeballs, he recalled Bagon and Weepinbell, and followed up with Mightyena. "Let's get this over with," he said with a smile. "Go Butterfree, use Psybeam on Ariados. Nidoking, hit them all with your Earthquake!" he smiled, knowing Butterfree wouldn't be hit.
Butterfree, being fairly fast, fluttered forward, and focused a multi-coloured beam at the six-legged Spider Pokemon. Meanwhile, Nidoking jumped into the airl, landing on the ground with a resonating crash, sending a massive shockwave at the group of enemy Pokemon.

"Here little bugs..." Kilik whispered, crawlling in the grass. Flareon kept low himself. There was a snapping of a twig. For that brief moment, he felt like the hunted. He stood up to see a Scyther walking in front of him. Awesome... he thought. "Flareon..." he whispered, "attack with a Tackle attack!" the fire Pokemon nodded and attacked the weapon-wielder. Scyther turned its head in time to dodge the attack.
"SCY! THER!" it barked out. Kilik stood up and brushed the dirt from his clothes. His eyes widened for a moment.
Something's odd about that Scyther, he thought, Scyther aren't normally that dark...nor do they ever have red markings. "Flareon, Ember!" Four fireballs shot forth, slamming Scyther in the chest.
Wild Scyther Appeared! Female Lv: 25
The weapon-wielding Pokemon stumbled for a moment before running at Flareon with its namesakes swinging back and forth. "Flareon! Dodge that Fury Cutter and smack it again with an Ember!" In the attempt, the blade of Scyther knicked Flareon's tail as fire rained into its chest again. Scyther growled loudly and ran toward Flareon. The Fire-type took a swift kick to the jaw and was hurled a few feet back. "One more Ember, Flareon! It's almost over!" More flames smacked Scyther's nose and stomach.The Bug-type began to breathe heavily before falling to the ground. Kilik threw a Park Ball and it landed on the weak Scyther. He ran over and looked down at the ball as it twitched. Once...twice...three times. There was a click. Kilik picked the ball up and held it up in the air. "Yes!" he laughed.
"Flareon! Flareon!" the boy looked about. The closest exit to the park was the south exit toward Goldenrod City. As he left the park, the guard in this building stopped him.
"Are you done with the Contest?" he asked. Kilik nodded, "All right then. Wait here for judging."

"Whaa.. whaaa???" Grunt 2 yelled as his Magicarp fainted from the earthquake. Luckily for them, the other grunts were smarter than that. "Ariados, string shot into the tree and escape!" Grunt 1 yelled as his pokemon dodged both attacks. "Now use Constrict on Nidoking!"
"Oh no Arbok!" Grunt 4 shouted as his pokemon took massive damage from the attack. "Try to get in your Toxic on Butterfree!" he yelled as the pokemon struggled to get up. "Seviper?" Grunt 2 yelled as his pokemon was also bashed by the earthquake. "Get in on that Nidoking with a Crunch attack!"
"Yep those idiots are screwed. I'm glad I didn't tell them to come in. Now I might be able to dissapear without having to fight or anything." Mag said as Tsunami and Sunfire came out of their pokeballs to watch the action.

Kilik sat on a chair, waiting for the contest to end. There was a DING DONG and the guard pressed down on a button. "Ladies and Gentlemen! The contest is now over, please report to the South exit!"

A few moments later, ten more trainers flooded into the checkpoint. Three judges looked at the eleven entries and began to whisper amongst themselves. They wrote down the winners on a sheet of paper and handed it to the guard.
"The third place winner with 561 points is...BugCatcher John! With a Metapod!" the boy that Kilik had saw smile stood up and accepted his Oran Berry prize, "The second place winner with 625 points...Lady Jesse with a Beedrill!" The girl who captured the Beedrill before him accepted the berry prize, "And the grand prize winner! The winner of the Sun Stone with 666 points...Kilik Ranmo! He captured a Scyther!" Kilik thrusted his fist into the air and gave a triumphant laugh. Flareon barked happily. "We will now return your Pokemon."

Kilik went up to the front desk and took his Koffing and Scyther. The guard handed him the Sun Stone. It wasn't named that for no reason; it really did look like the sun. The boy placed it into his bag and walked out of the South exit. He sent out his Koffing and Scyther. "All right, you three. Let's get to Goldenrod City!"

"So maybe you aren't idots," Jaeshan chuckled. "Block that Toxic with a Gust!" Jaeshan told Butterfree. She flapped her wings rapidly, generating a silvery coloured wind. Jaeshan realized at once it was Silver Wind. It turned back most of the Toxic attack, but not enough to avoid it completely. "Psybeam that Arbok!" Jaeshan called, looking over to see Nidoking constricted by the Ariados, and the oncoming attack from Seviper. "Strength!" he cried as Seviper's jaws gnashed against Nidoking's muscular forearm. The Drill Pokemon gave a roar, turning his massive body quickly, and slamming his mighty fist into the side of the fang snake's head.

Nina whispered to Kasiya, "Sabrina and I'll be inside the store. We'll meet up with you guys inside!" She and Sabrina headed toward the department store, and upon entering its automatic doors, were greeted by the receptionist. She pointed them toward a listing of what goods were on which of the store's floors, and told them that if they needed any help in finding anything to just ask. "Thank you," Nina said, as she and Sabrina headed up a couple flights of stairs to the gift area of the store. Sabrina was browsing around, while Nina headed straight for the Pokedolls, even though Nina knew that she had long outgrown her doll-collecting phase. "Aw," Nina said, looking at an Azurill doll, "it's so cute! And it... almost feels to be real. Wow." She chuckled and found other dolls she liked, such as Delcatty, Beautifly, Gengar, Sableye, Clefairy, and Miltank.

"Seviper!!" Grunt 3 shotued as his pokemon fainted from the blow. "Ge get that guy yous guys!" Grunt 2 cheered.
"Okay then boss! Go hit that Nidoking with a Glare attack!" Grunt 4 shouted as his pokemon looked at the Nidoking causing it to be paralyzed. It quickly fell to the Psybeam that the Butterfree had sent. But it faltered in the air struggling at the growing poison.
"It is up to ME! Ariados finish off Butterfree with a Night Shade. Then use it on Nidoking!" Grunt 1 commanded.

The boy went past the fence posts, looking around the route as the fence posts scrolled past him. Scyther crossed its arms and shut its eyes as it walked, looking somewhat irritated with its new trainer. "Aww, get over it, Scyther," Kilik laughed, "You'll learn to enjoy our company soon enough."
"Scy..." she growled. Flareon looked at the newest addition to the team with a dull stare. As if to say, 'sorry I had to beat you up so bad'. Kilik looked at Koffing. It didn't do much, then it laughed, and started to spin around.

He past the check point and entered Goldenrod City. He stretched out his arms, "The bustling city!" he laughed. Koffing kept turning, Flareon barked happily, and Scyther growled once more. "I wonder if anyone I know is here..." he began to move deeper into the city.
"Flareon! Flare Flare!" his partner barked, looking at the second tallest building in the city. "M.A.R.T." was spelled out in large letters on the top of it.
"That's one big PokeMart..." Kilik whispered.

Butterfree squealed in pain from the Night Shade and the steadily growing poison. Jaeshan clenched his hands into fists. "One more Psybeam!" he growled as the butterfly shot off another colourful beam before she started to fall. Jaeshan raised her Pokeball and recalled her, muttering a nasty curse under his breath as he did so. "Come on, Nidoking!" he called. "Don't let that paralysis get you down! Use Thrash!" he commanded and Nidoking went into a berserker frenzy, swinging his massive limbs at the Ariados as it used Night Shade again. Nidoking's wealth of HP seemed to work in his favor as it didn't seem as effective as it could have been.

"I'll see you inside," Keegan smiled at Kasiya, leaning over and giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. "Don't be too long," he added with a wink, dashing after Sabrina and Nina as they headed to the large department store building.
"Wow..." he sighed, looking up. "Time to get some new duds," he smirked to himself, not feeling so bad to be wearing the stupid floral hospital gown now that the store was so close. He could practically feel the money burning a hole in his pocket as he dashed across the street, still favouring the nasty burn on his right arm.
