Oooo! Give some to us! We have two mellos and a possible 17 trumpets for next year (with a band of like 40)

The wind ensemble I'm in is like... 40 people, guessing. I was just transfered into it, so I'm unsure.
Marching abnd is like 90, so it's pretty funny to say that 10% are mellos.

Our only really good one is Drum Major now >.<
We have like, four left.
and they're really quiet.

In my school...We don't need anymore Trumpets. In Symphonic Band alone, there was about...15-17 Trumpets and only Four Horns. But, the best Horn player is Drum Major next year. Good thing is, we're getting a few more Freshmen. Yay!
When I started Band, I was so set to play the Trumpet because my older brother played it too and he was really good. Then when we went to try the other instruments, I fell in love with the Horn. I ended up being the only French Horn in both 7th Grade and 8th Grade. It was so weird o.o;

Aye aye aye..... The trumpets in concert band don't make music, they make screeching noises. Thankfully, not all the trumpets are like that. The ones in the upper band are so good.

Even in our top band, we only have a few good trumpets. It's a sad thing (for the trumpets, anyway) when our Horn section of two or three shows up (plays louder than) their section of eight.

We have way too many trumpets, flutes, and clarinets... and percussion but I think every school has too many of those. We def need mor mello's and horns. There are three horns in each band. that's not good. emo

Will you find me a blue rose? Yay French Horn. I <3 my horn.
My school has three bands. Advanced, Inetrmediate, and Freshman.
I was in Advnaced band my freshman year. There were 8 horns in advanced band, two in intermediate, and one in freshman. The band director didn't bother to spred the horns out...then our horn section dies in numbers. Three people graduated, two quit, and one moved away. We only got one freshman. Oh..and we got an oboe for marching band....

I'm horn section leader at my schjool.
we have like 8 trumpets and this year hopefully 3 mellophones!!!
we'd have 4 but we onlty have 3 mellophones lol. razz
but yeah the horns are doing colorguard for parade in marching band because our parts are really boring and serve no purpose sooooo yeah i'm excited!

*attempting to spark a conversation* So what's all of your favorite songs featuring Horn(s)?
One of my favorites is an audition that we had for symphony from Brahm's Symphony in C Minor that has a brilliant Horn part.

At my school there is only one band for both seasons. counting me we have 3 mellos for concert but 2 for marching this year because I got drafted for PIT.
