Flaming_Ninja_Dragon eventually i want to learn to play the legend of zelda theme song on my clarinet! and the clock town song (figured out half of it) and get first place in the math counts competition tomarrow (wish me luck!) and play some ddr songs! ... eek wow, that was random... Heh, Iactually wrote an arrangement for 2 clarinets for the overworld theme from zelda. I also wrote a 4 part clarinet arrangement of 'this is halloween' from the nightmare before christmas. Although I've never played the regular bass clarinet, I have been repairing and playing or school's contrabass. It's over 3 feet tall, all metal, and made by LeBlanc in the 70's. Only leblanc made the paperclip shaped ones. Soprano wise, I play on my good ol R-13 with plenty of customizations (moutpieces, ligatures, barrels, reeds, etc.). If anyone wants any advise on clarinets, saxes, or just general music, I have plenty to offer.

kapena808 i play clarinet I CANT BLOW talk2hand eeks! I used to be like that last year when I first started! It could be that you're not breathing from your diaphragm or not enough air support or your embouchure or your reed... what size and kind of reed do you use?

hello fellow clarinetists. i march and play with the pride of south lafourche high school band... yeah, i know, it's a long name. i'm a senior at, you guessed it, south lafourche high school in the south-eastern part of louisiana. it's fun here but the only bad parts are the humidity, strange weather patterns and the heat. besides that it's awesome. i've been playing for 7 years... eh, it's a living.

Elenriel Nimloth *glomps the clarinetists, then glomps her wooden clarinet* I'm probably eons older than all of you... I've been playing clarinet since 4th grade, which was in 1990... In high school I was in marching band all four years (co-section leader and assistant drum major my senior year), was moved up to the "advanced" band my sophomore year, and then in college I played for two and a half years in the college band, serving as secretary for two years and concert mistress for one. Now I am graduated and bandless.... crying Wow, yeah...You're lots older than I... razz

we are playing really awesome songs this year for orchestra and concert band. concert band: equinox overture for band (it goes from 4/4 to 6/8 to 7/8 and we finally are loved with the melody. its also full of 16th note runs and goes up to super high e.) southern folk rapsody (its really easy and the clarinets are again loved with wafering stranger and a two measure 1st clarinet solo.) we havent played hosts of freedom, but we are also playing it for the concert. and we're playing fanfare and corale (sorta easy)
Orchestra: so far only glorioso(i swear its the easiest song in history) and norwegian dance no. 2 (it sounds like mumbo's mtn. from banjo kazooie) (sounds like a waltz, and then sounds like a violent heavy metal song)(fun but sorta hard)
oh, and our BD said this year is a compitition year or something...he rambled on about warm up songs for judication or something...
