[[Hoshiz. Remind me not to leave for a week. I just finished reading all the last 11 pages of your rping with each other .___.;;; Took FOREVER]]

Muertian quirked a brow. "You want to be free," he repeated, confused. What an odd wish. He didn't see anything holding Rosaline away from him, or anyone for that matter. The Death Kingdom didn't support human slavery unless it was an exception registered with the King-- none that Muertian knew of.

"Rosaline... how are you not free? You look free to me."
PostPosted: Tue Aug 08, 2006 3:17 pm

Rosaline shook his head slowly, his smile one of someone with an unpleasant secret. "It's not something I could expect you to understand... Looking free and being free are two different things. I am too much a subject to the fates for my liking... almost like a doll." He couldn't explain any more clearly than that without getting into his apparent "humanity." He felt as if he had almost no will of his own.

"You're not sure?" Dax echoed. "Well, I definitely don't want you to end up throwing goo or anything when you're just trying to deflect some magic. Even if the guards don't realize who we really are after that, I'm sure they wouldn't be overly happy with a face-full of sludge. We would probably get thrown into jail, of all things!" After that, it would probably be a matter of deciding whether they should reveal their identities or attempting to escape and continue on.. Maybe he should just pray they don't get in that predicament. "Actually.. you'd probably be the one in jail. They'd set me free on account of my gorgeous body." He grinned impishly.

He smiled wryly and shook his head. "I doubt that would happen. Have you ever gone beyond your limmits before?" he asked curiously. He didn't think Dax would ever have been in such a situation. "What usually happens is that you pass out or become incredibly weak so your magic can be restored. Something like that." He shrugged and popped some more fruit into his mouth. "Mmm, but worse things can happen. If you go fully into zero on your own magic, there can be very serious repricutions. I think one man ended up in a coma for about six months before he was in a state where we could get him out. Never been the sane since, though," he said, shaking his head with a soft sigh.

[[haha. I'll try not to. /brainstorms for fire prince ]]

Muertian arched a brow. This girl... was so different from every other he'd met at parties or who had come to the castle to visit his sisters. In fact, Rosaline didn't even resemble his sisters' personality either. 'She' was just... different. Muertian couldn't put his finger on just what made 'her' so different. ((*cough*perhaps the fact that Rosy's a boy. *cough*))

With the dismissive comment of him 'not understanding,' Muertian felt like giving up. He shrugged and stood up, holding his hand out to help the other up. "I may understand more than you give me credit for about fates, Rosaline," he commented, his enthusiastic eyes a little dulled, "In any case, I think it's high time we visited another garden."

The pink-haired "lady" stood up and inclined "her" head, a slightly whistful smiled on "her" lips. He now regretting dismissing the other, but what else could he have said? 'Oh, well, that's just because you're human and I'm not. In fact, I should just stay in this garden because I'm a flower, anyway.' But of course he couldn't say that - it was ridiculous to even think of revealing himself! "Maybe you would understand, but it's still not something I can tell... well, anyone. Sorry." He shrugged and smiled appologetically, as if to say 'oh, well.'

Jillian knew the girl's mother was dead. So then one of her powers was to communicate with spirits...? That would make sense, as her lineage was of Death, but it was surprising all the same. "And what does your mother say?" he asked curiously.
Treza leaned back in her chair. "All kinds of things. She listens to me read sometimes. She teaches me about my ancestors and tells me stories of her childhood. Gives me advice on getting through my studies or dealing with my brothers and sisters," Treza continued, smiling genuinely, "She tells me what Faryn was like when he was my age. How to deal with him when he's in certain moods... I think Mother was very attached to him. She always ended our visits with, 'Don't let your brother do anything foolish and take care of him, Treza!'" The girl laughed and took a sip of her tea. "It's difficult. It's like having to help Faryn without him knowing. He'd get so angry with anyone for trying to help him! It's rather funny. He's a little sweet when he's angry."

"Sounds nice," he commented, a peaceful smile on his lips. He could remember - just vaguely - his own mother. The girl's words were reminding him of what he did remember... more feelings, scents and textures than words, but still memories all the same. "Really? I haven't seen anything too sweet when he's angry at me," he said, grinning slightly in spite of himself.

Muertian took the other's hand in his and gave the other an odd smile. "You're a curious girl, Rosaline. I daresay I've never met anyone like you," he shrugged, "As for this pressing secret of yours... maybe in time I can learn more about it. I wouldn't ask you to tell me it today."

Tugging on that hand, he started walking backwards, a renewed smile on his face. "How would you like to see my garden?"

Haar shook his head, dismissing the guards' concerned glances as their commander's more than flustered expression. "No, it's nothing...physical," he answered, attempting to smile once he was past the guards, but his grin merely came out as a broken sort of turn of his lips. It was hard to smile when one wasn't happy, but Haar should've been able to. He had been trained to keep an expression no matter what but he couldn't will a smile to his features.

He blamed exhaustion.

"I'll be fine," he murmured, averting his red eyes from the other as he took a turn down a hall, heading towards the gardens... Well, he would be just as soon as he could fake up a smile for Alti.

She had been the most beautiful creature Shay had ever seen, much less encountered on any sort of level. He couldn't remember exactly what he'd been doing at the moment, he had been of course looking around for any information concerned Xel but that very moment when he saw her was a complete blur. Had he been in a pub of some sort? A palace? He couldn't for the life of him remember. He could vaguely remember Ceris shoving him onward, he had apparently been staring rather obnociously- the girl had noticed. She had smiled.

Haar had almost died.
It would've been a good death.

He felt another guilty twinge at the mention of his apparent femenity. "Maybe..." was what he said, but he highly doubted he would ever tell anyone his secret. After all, it might be that which killed him - it had been known for magic to dwindle and die when it was revealed and despite his wanting to be free, he didn't want to disapear.

"That would be nice," he said, returning the other's bright smile.

Alti frowned. "If you say so," he said, his tone skeptical. His orange eyes examined what he could see of the other - namely the back of his head and back. Not the best view, but it would hae to do. He obviously doubted the other's wellness, but there didn't seem to be anything he needed medically - or, at least, Alti hoped not becuase if he called his mother again he would have to leave with her.

Treza laughed. "Oh? Is that so? Then why do you smile like that, Jillian? I think you can see a little of what I mean, at the least! Faryn acts angry a lot. But... in a way... everytime he gets mad over something someone says... there's a split second there where I can tell he's lost. He doesn't know what to say anymore. Apparently, he used to laugh it off or actually take offense and cry once in awhile.

I think it's sweet when his face contorts when he gets mad. He's like a little kid again trying to comeback with something confident." Treza took another sip of her tea. "Is that what you see? Or is it something different for you?"

Jillian shrugged. "I suppose I could see it that way... kinda like someone trying to learn how to swim, right?" His thoughts had been taken from those memories - memories which very rarely swam to the surface because they were nearly always painful, or at least had to do with pain. "Anyway, if Faryn finds out about what we're talking about, we're dead. Or, at least, I probably will be. You have a blood tie so I doubt he would be able to actually kill you..."

Haar had been so absorbed in his own thoughts and musings that he hadn't noticed his apprentice clinging to a certain knight. Peyton continually hissed for Cain to walk faster.

"Hide me, hide me!" The blonde looked almost frantic. If Haar saw him trying to get out of the castle he'd be so utterly and completely dead. They somehow passed the the two without a problem and Peyton almost wondered if something wrong with Shay... He buried the thought as the trio headed outside to get in the carriage already set up for Shannon.

Red eyes ghosted across the marble floor. Fifty-nine steps until they would reach the fire light garden, horrid name but Haar thought it was the the most calming ground around the whole castle. He just needed to calm down a bit and then he could place his facade back to its rightful place and introduce Alti to the noble men and ladies.
