Her smiled faded when she was sure he was asleep. She got to work, cleaning up the blood as best she could, and opening the window so air could circulate; spring was finally in the air. She went into the bathroom and took a long shower, longer than was necessary. She still couldn't help feeling a bit unclean at the thought that she had nearly killed someone in cold blood, whether or not he deserved to die.

She came out with her hair down for a change and dressed in her springtime pajamas which was just a pair of boxer shorts and a loose tank top. She yawned, streching her arms as she walked over to the bed and crawled under the covers, grabbing her stuffed cat from underneath her pillow. She snuggled against it, and Asmodai, trying to drift off into sleep.

He does deserve to die you know.

Be that as it may, I don't want to be the one to kill him. She replied to the oni, her eyes open even under the guise of sleep. She amanded her thought. Not really anyway.

Death is the only constant, dear Catrina. Make your peace with that and we'll both be happier for it. He replied tersly.

I made my peace with death long ago. Neko replied, closing her eyes and shifting her weight so that her tails could move out from under her and not get squished. Now go to sleep.

Kage didn't feel like going to sleep, although he desperately needed it. He could feel Neko dream, feel her smile as it was a pleasant dream, made for a naive and some-what pleasant person.

How he had wound up in her mind was beyond him.

The fact that she was a fellow demon meant nothing to him. He was usually a loner by nature, making his living by ending the lives of others. He actually didn't like mage demons very much, finding them pushy and annoying as a whole, though there were exceptions. This girl pushed the limits of his insanity, nearly commiting suicide, which would have killed him as well, and refusing accept that she would have to kill eventually, so much so that it was agrivating beyond words.

He had been surprised at first, to find any shadow in this child's mind. Even when he had kidnapped and tortured her, she had given off an air of childish innocence which sickened him. He just wanted to be out of her head and away from all others before one of his previous hosts found where he was. The fact that she knew one, even if she didn't know that, would have scared him if he really be scared anymore.

"Stop thinking so loud. I can't sleep." Neko muttered almost as if part of the dream, but the glare Kage received with the message mentally told him it wasn't. He curled up in the shadowy corner of her mind in which he lived, and made himself go to sleep.

Neko smiled as Kage went silent, going back to sleep as well.

Neko had curled up much like a cat would in sleep, using her cat plushie as a pillow. She yawned in sleep, and moved her tails to better cover her hands and face like a cat.

She muttered something and turned over onto her other side, one hand barely holding onto her cat plush.

She was still now, barely breathing and certainly not moving, deep into the sleep cycle. She didn't even twitch, and in her head, neither did Kage. Both were sound asleep and oblivious to everything.

He sits up, swinging his legs over the bed.

He got up and started to dress, always looking at her to see if she were awake.
