I remember getting 28 inches in one night, but that was very unusual.
Ahh, the midwest, where there's never a snow day if you're physically capable of making it to school. You may get there late, cold, and with a death wish, but if you can get there at all, you're not staying home.

I recall maybe three or four snow days in my lifetime, and one time my mom forced me to stay home because of a tornado warning.

I can't think of a year we didn't have a snow day, but it was usually because the temperature dropped way below 0 and waiting for the bus to come could have been a life or death proposition.
