Taryn could indeed hear Joachim's heart beating, but it was a pleasant, comforting sound rather than one revealing his nerves. Her dress swished around her feet as she moved with her date, and she felt distinctly like this moment may be the only one like it. How many more times would a boil be the first one she'd danced with, after all? Unfortunately this meant ignoring Joachim's own reactions to some extent and continually floating in the dreamy, foggy world of her emotions.

Abigail had taken on a slow, almost rhythmic sway as the pair danced, acting more as tail than reptile for the moment. Taryn was certain that nothing else mattered, and as she was ultimately content with the experience, so too was the snake. Her chest rose and fell again with a little sigh.

Calder tugged at his ear, shaking his head a bit. There was such an itch there. Was someone talking about him?

LEFT? Oh, that was terrible! There was no way it could be Christof's fault, obviously. He was such a nice boil.

"I'm sure she, uh. She forgot something. Like a glass slipper. I hear that happens sometimes too. But it CAN'T have been your fault, definitely. Yes, I'm totally sure of it." Something had to be done. He couldn't be allowed to sit in the shadows and, and- be stuck in a sort of like, a box, with emotions in it. Yeah. Not after all the hard work he did.

Cady, harbinger of justice. She put her hand on his shoulder and firmly lead him toward his lovely creation - the dance floor. "I hear that, you know, activity keeps your mind off things. And dancing seems pretty active, right?" Without waiting for a response she marched them straight out in the midst of other dancing couples- and stopped.

She turned to look at him, a lost expression crossing her face. Confusion was becoming more and more the norm for the ghoul. "I uh. Where do my hands go?" She looked at them forlornly. Something about...hips...and shoulders. And this song was slow. That seemed to require more touching. Oh dear.

Very slightly Ash's chin rose, hair swaying faintly with the motion. She could understand something was on the dark-skinned boil's mind. It was his posture, that completely phony smile he was giving her. But it was his choice not to say anything. Who was she to press him for information he wasn't giving up willingly?

Aislin returned his smile, teeth barely showing and cracked her eyes open. Slits of white glowed through thick lashes. "No harm in that. But if that's all your doing right now then why not irresponsibly give me a dance as well?" She held out her hand to him, irregularly long and slender fingers splayed.

"Or are you too lazy for that as well?" A thin brow lifted, smile growing.

The happy spazzing dancing didn't last long, however, as Lizzy's cheeks turned red and she felt rather... Embarrassed about her little flail fest, especially to such a pretty song. Taking Charlie by his hands (under his sleeves), she grinned and pretty much led/drag him along to the dance as best as she could.

She didn't like to lead, but Charlie... She didn't exactly want him to lead a dance. Ever.

There was no arguing with that.

Well, technically, Riley knew she could argue anything - but she agreed, this time.

Ah, you're right of course. She settled her head down on Malodore's shoulder, and her sway slowed to a gentle rhythm as her arms released the lead, and just wrapped around Malodore. Her palms rested against it's back, shamelessly cuddling.

I would look terrible in plaid.

And that, it seemed, was the end of that.

"Er... I think um. My n-neck," He swallowed thickly. Oh Fear Alive here he went again... At least it was another slow song, and not that odd... peacock.. whatever it had been that seemed to ahve gone on forever. "And I um. P-put my hands on your er... hipth I beliewe it goeth. Um."

There it was again. That feeling. But Cady was a Monster, demons at least when you cut something off of them USUALLY it stayed the same. He wondered if he were to cut off one of Jericho's fingers, without the attachment of his skull pin if it would become a talon or remain a finger. All these little details made everything so... so... DIFFICULT.

But at least his mind was busy, and he was feeling a little better.

He wished Shehk hadn't run away so quickly. But... but maybe she had had her reasons.

He could hope.

Awkwardly, his trembling hands rested on Cady's hips, glancing to the other dancers for quick notes on what they did next. Shehk hadn't seemed so thrilled to have his head resting on her shoulder, after all. He would complete the Task appointed to him, and he would do it WELL. If only for the hope of not losing another dance partner.

Hopefully Cady wouldn't try to kiss him, that had definitely made the last dance awkward.

He could see she wasn't buying it. As if it would be more convincing, he tilted his eyes up a little and to the left, keeping his gaze focused elsewhere until he chanced a glance back down at her, face still tilted upwards as if trying to be sneaky. Oops, she was still looking. But it seemed the danger had passed -- the smile coaxed an easier one from him as well, although it was still a touch fake, her grin and amused expression put his mind to rest that she wasn't going to push the situation. Good... he liked that in a friend. His grin only broadened when she didn't contest that he was being irresponsible, even validating the action, and he was about to tsk her when the realization of her offer hit his thick skull, and he paused, making a hesitant, comical face.

"Aha, I don't dance very well..." he warned, giving her a look that was more of a 'you saw me, do you really want to be seen with that?' But her expression remained resolved, and eventually the skinwalker rolled his shoulders a little with a genuine grin, sighing and shaking his head as he took her hand. "You're gonna regret it. Imma step on your toes. And I'm wearing shoes tonight."

Claire thought he was so cute! Sure, she (by unwritten halloween law) shouldn't be interested in someone of a 'lower class' but she was, and she was fine with it. She looked into his eyes and wondered why it was such a crime to commit interracial love. Not that it was a crime, but dear old dad would surely be iffy. Her mother mightn't be, though.
"It depends." said Claire with a sly smile. Claire honestly didn't know what to say. What if he wasn't interested? She wouldn't take the risk. "Do you like her?" She said, obviously meaning Danny.

The music played and Aislin stepped in, reaching up to rest her other hand on his shoulder. She wrinkled her nose at the mention of shoes, wiggling her toes before taking a 'step up' into the air, hovering just above the linoleum. "There. Now, no more excuses. Woo me." She giggled faintly, managing to keep it from raising into anything louder than a faint chortle. As they began to sway into a slow rhythm Ash finally, finally was able to give Nukpana a serious once over.

She also had time to realize how very little she knew about the boil. Ever since meeting him at the Open House, that split second when he'd lifted her up and twirled her, she'd been interested in him. The more she'd been able to catch glimpses only to have someone come in and interrupt a started conversation or block her from coming over and greeting him had only made her want it even more. However, now that she finally was able to converse with him she realized she had surprisingly little to say.

"Nice Prom, by the way. You've put a lot of effort into it but I've hardly seen you around. Too busy in that game room to have some fun?" She twirled lightly, stepping on air. As they danced the fog that curled from her neck hung in the air, tracing their path. "It's just as much your Prom as it is theirs."

Moure raised his eyebrow as Claire answered, first with a statement, then a question in his direction. Her last words made him look down to her face, surprise written across his own. Danny? That's really who Claire was worried about? Moure couldn't help but give a slight laugh as he answered. "No no, not in the romantic sense. She's just my friend who I play Scario Kart with." He gave a slight grin and head shake as he finished his explaination. "We met at the Open House, and then she came by to borrow a copy of Scario Kart from me. I learned that she didn't have a date, so I agreed to come as her escort. That's literally the whole story behind our coming to Prom together."

Moure looked around for a moment, noticing a slight song change, and then back down to Claire. "Is that a good enough explaination? Do I get to hear what your intentions are now?" In all honesty, Moure was really kind of curious as to if Claire actually did like him. Moure had no experience with interpreting ghoul's actions, so he seriously wouldn't have figured out that Claire had liked him unless someone like Danny had pointed it out.

The smile never seemed to fade as Shun lead her across the floor in graceful sways and turns. There was nothing complicated or fancy about their steps but it was dancing all the same, dancing she had been fairly certain she couldn't do....that he wouldn't do with her.

As the song continued Mitsu's arm that was braced against Shun's held a little tighter her hand giving his a little squeeze. "You really are the best, Shun." She said softly and only for him to hear. "Thank you for everything. This really is...the best night I've ever had." And she truly meant that. As overstimulating as it had been and sometimes panic inducing it was very much the best night she had ever been given the opportunity to enjoy.

Thank goodness that someone had the foresight to set up a couple of songs to play even if the DJs were away from the booth. Weather it was Ash or Cady was uncertain but as the slow dance started to fade out the next song switched over. A catchy beat with a sassy firm bass line.

Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz began to play across the dance floor.

Mandy nodded along as Aurian explained, eyes flicking around trying to make out the details of hat she mentioned, though was it just her or was the table opening now? Maybe later wasn't too much later, whatever she wasn't here for games, this was for her date.

"I'd love to dan- huh? Um...." Aurians enquiry threw Mandy for a moment before she decided that obviously the ghoul was slightly odd and started with the assumption that people couldn't see instead of could. "I can, er, see a bit, eyesight isn't my best sense but in normal circumstances I can get by... Its just, er, the flashing lights with darkness is a bit disorienting."

Sensing the awkwardness Mandy quickly changed the subject by grabbing Aurians hand and pulling her onto the dance floor, "Come on, let's dance! It's what you do at prom right?" Mandy asked happily, turning towards Aurian fully and trying to decide what type of dance would be appropriate for this song.

Mot watched Lizzy and Mitsu as they interacted, raising a brow and wondering why they kept looking at him. Uh, what did he do? Was this a ghoul only problem? If so, he would have left them be if asked. As it was though, Mitsu was pulled away by the pink haired pipsqueak, and Lizzy followed after.

He smiled at the antics, watching from the sidelines.

He watched as the quiet Shun danced with the timid Mitsu, and even as... Lizzy did an interesting jig. Mot snorted and grinned, chuckling at her attempt to dance with the silly little demon. It looked as though she embarrassed herself though, as she soon switched to a normal dance with him.

The song changed soon, and Mot realized he'd been standing there on his own for a while now. He moved back to the table to have himself a seat. Nothing much else to do, as his date was otherwise busy.
