Arielle Shore

"No, I'd probably just be a simple old waitress," Arielle said with a light smile, "Although, that could happen. And Maria would most definitely be a hostess. She's cheerful enough to let any customer feel welcomed and at home." She had actually always wondered why her grandparents never did something like that. Sure, they had pretty good jobs now that they were satisfied with, but she always felt like they enjoyed cooking more than anything else.

Before she could deeper into her thoughts, she felt Kyla tugging on her free hand, using her nickname. She almost wanted to question how she found out, but Maria's brothers were most likely the culprits since they did use that nickname in front of everyone. She was going to answer Kyla's question when Sakimi jumped in. According to Kyla, Sakimi wasn't the best cook in the world. She only waited to speak, but was beaten to the chance when Raine came in as the peacemaker.

"I'm glad you think my grandparents are wonderful, Raine," Arielle said with a smile, "And to answer your question Kyla, that's up to you to decide. I love my grandparents cooking because I've grown up with it, and I have never seen anyone disagree with the taste of their food. However, it all matters on personal opinion. I just don't want to give you false hopes that their food is the best thing ever only for you to be disappointed. It's never good to lead someone on."

He really does have a wonderful smile, Maria thought in admiration as she looked back at him. She giggled lightly as Dimitri at first asked if he could flirt with her now that they were going out before jumping to his own conclusion of flirting with her regardless of how she felt. She continued giggling when Dimitri wondered if she would be a blushing mess when he did flirt with her as he poked her cheek. "It all depends on the flirt," Maria said gently, a faint blush on her cheek before a smirk slowly found its way on her face, "Is that your new goal in life now, Dimitri? To see how badly I blush when you romantically flirt with me? If so, I'd be interested to see how it all works out."

Her smile softened and she laughed before kissing him again. "Do you think we should go back?" Maria asked quietly after she broke apart from the kiss again, "I'm sure they're probably wondering if everything is alright between us."

Kedrick smiled, listening as Arielle talked about the restaurant that her grandparents never opened. It was a wonderful dream, Kedrick wondered if it would ever be a reality.

Kyla smiled happily and waved her concern away. "Oh come on, I'm sure they're great! I didn't mean to worry you, besides, I can eat just about anything. Even if Sakimi's the cook." Kyla added as a last jab, then, with a manic cackle, took off towards the porch.

"That's it!" Sakimi said, taking off after her, her long black hair whipping behind her. It took only a few of Sakimi's long strides to catch up with Kyla, who's legs weren't near so long. "Com'mer you little rodent!" She cried, snatching up Kyla in mid stride. She was rewarded by a sequel of surprise from her sister. Sakimi pinned Kyla to the ground, sitting on her back. "Say it" She demanded, leaning down, only to see Kyla still grinning. The younger girl seemed to adore this kind of attention from her sister. "Say 'uncle' " Sakimi demanded.

"Not a chance!" Kyla gasped delightedly. "Don't get me wrong, you're very heavy and you probably need to loose some weight but just sitting on me isn't going to make me take it back!"

Sakimi looked flummoxed, but very quickly her face clouded with anger. "You little twit!" She shrieked, her cheeks pink. She reached down, tugging on Kyla's hair. Arielle could tell by looking that she wasn't pulling terribly hard, but she was also very clearly steamed.

"This might get ugly, let's get something to eat while they fight..." Raine said softly, sliding her hand into Arielle's.

Athena smile slightly. "It'll blow over..." She looked up thoughtfully, a finger resting lightly on her chin "You know, seeing this, Mrs. Vázquez's boys don't seem so bad after all..."

Dimitri's heart fluttered as she leaned in to kiss him and he just stood there a moment, enjoying the feeling of her lips on his. He smiled almost sleepily at her as she pulled back. Reluctant as he was to leave the quiet privacy of the over-grown orchard, he knew she was right. And besides, He had to talk to Kedrick.

"Oh, Alright, if you insist." He said with a playful smirk, gently nudging her shoulder. The dark hair boy lead her back over to the entrance of the orchard and they could hear the noise of the picnic meet their ears again as though it had stopped especially for them. "My fair lady," He said, and with a flourish, made a deep bow, swept up her hand and kissed the back of it before straightening up, and gesturing out into the sunlight.

Arielle Shore

Arielle giggled and watched as Sakimi chased after Kyla. Kyla just couldn't resist messing with her older sister about her cooking, or just messing with Sakimi in general. It brought of memories of nights when she stayed over at Maria's house and her brothers would start messing with them and taking stuff from her room. The two girls would always chase after them and it almost turned into a playful game of rescuing the captured doll.

She smiled gently at Raine and nodded in agreement when she mentioned it was best to get some food. Looking up, she could see many of the men either going to the food table or leaving the food table. She heard Athena's comment and giggled, finding some truth in what she said. "It's just a sibling thing, I guess," Arielle said with a small smile, "Siblings love messing with each other and play fighting with each other. It was... It was something I was always envious of when I was little. Even though Maria's family were like family to me, it never really felt the same." And my parents died long before I could get another brother or sister, Arielle added in her thoughts. If she had spoken that out loud, she would already be ruining the pleasant mood that the barbeque was supposed to bring.

"But anyway," Arielle said cheerfully, trying to move on to something brighter, "Let's get in this line before we're beaten to it by the officers and Maria's brothers. Sometimes I think her two brothers alone would eat out an entire buffet."

Maria smiled and laughed before following Dimitri out of the orchard. It seemed almost weird to hear the noise of other people after everything that had gone on in the orchard. It was like they were leaving their own paradise to return to the real world. As much as she wanted to stay in that orchard with just, Dimitri, she knew she had to tell the good news at some point. Although hiding in the orchard would be a good way to avoid Eneas and Ulises, Maria thought with a small smile.

Her attention went from her thoughts to Dimitri as he called her his fair lady. She giggled lightly and felt herself blush and inwardly wondering if this was one of his flirts. She took his hand and smiled at him. "Ready to eat, Dimitri?" Maria asked, "Or are you going to proclaim to the world that you're dating the wonderful Maria Inez Navarro Vázquez?" She giggled at that last part, knowing that Dimitri was going to have a hard time trying to pronounce her name, and the way she said it, with such speed and fluency of a native speaker, probably wouldn't have helped him much either.

Kedrick grinned lightly at Athena. "Right then." He said, stepping into the line. He picked up one of the sturdy paper plates and began moving down the line. Everything looked so wonderful that Kedrick had a hard time not just taking some of everything, but he only had so much room on his plate so he picked carefully. He got one of the burgers from Mr. Fields fresh off the grill and murmured a quiet 'thank you' before stepping out of the line and making his way to a table.

Dimitri's smile faltered slightly when Maria said her full name. He opened his mouth as though to speak, one finger raised slightly. He paused a moment, still standing open mouthed before seeming to come to a decision. "Not in so many words." He said, and then smiled at her, stepping out into the sun light.

He walked with her into the middle of all the people and then caught sight of Kedrick, who was sitting at the end of a table, apparently waiting for Arielle. "Hey, Maria, I'll be right back, you go get some food okay?" He asked with a smile. His hand lingered on her back for a moment before he slipped away.

Kedrick looked up as he heard foot falls. He glanced up, expecting to see Arielle, but seeing Dimitri instead. His friends hair was slightly tousled and he was wearing a dopy grin. Kedrick laughed slightly, it had been the first time he had seen Dimitri since he had disappeared with Maria's father. "What's the matter with you?" He asked, standing up, his friend's smile contagious. "You look like you've swallowed a crescent moon!" He said, reaching out and poking the corner of Dimitri's mouth. "What's up?"

Dimitri's grin widened "She loves me..." He said simply, his head canting slightly to the side. He looked back up at him quickly, his eyes bright with happiness. "And-and her dad! He does too! I mean- He doesn't love me, but he likes me!" Dimitri laughed softly, having almost forgotten how terrified he had been while talking to Maria's father. He sighed softly, dropping down onto one of the chairs.

Kedrick laughed, sitting down next to him. "Easy lover boy, you're going to hurt yourself, here." He picked up a slice of cucumber, stuffing it in the young man's mouth.

Dimitri blinked in surprise and then chewed the cucumber thoughtfully, swallowing. "Hey Kedrick," He said, seeming to have come back to earth a little bit. "What did you feel like what you and Arielle finally got around to telling each other how you felt?" He asked curiously, resting his elbows on the table.

"Well..." Kedrick paused, trying to bring up the memories of how exactly he felt. "I was kind of...numb...not in a bad way, but kind of relieved. I had been so stressed about whether or not she liked my that it was all I could think about...and when she said she did...I was just...I don't know...happy, relieved... something like that. What about you?" He asked curiously, turning slightly to look at him out of the corner of his eyes. "How did you feel?"

"Wonderful!" Dimitri replied instantly, his eyes still shining. "I don't know how else to put it, It was just...amazing...I've never felt this way about anyone before..."

"Make's you kind of think you ought to tell her the truth." Kedrick said simply and he felt Dimitri jump slightly as though he had been shocked.

Dimitri looked at him before a scowl crossed his features. "Great, thanks a lot Kedrick, This is probably the best day of my life so far and you bring up that. Really tactful." He said dryly, is brows knitted together in a frown.

Kedrick smiled sadly, looking up at him. "But it's true." He said, standing up and putting a hand on his shoulder. "Don't be mad, just think about it and..." He paused for a moment and then gave him a gentle shove. "And go get some food."

Dimitri sighed, looking at him with irritation, but it didn't last long and he allowed himself a small smile. "Okay, okay fine, don't rush me okay?" He asked, and then smirked and headed up to the food line.

((Yeah, Now that he's in the food line, I can see Ulises and Eneas teasing him about being scrawny. XD ))

"That just means we need to work on your Spanish, Dimitri," Maria giggled, knowing that he probably wouldn't get to Navarro without messing up. She didn't mind helping him out though but she couldn't help wonder what he would think when he heard Eneas' and Ulises' full names. The thought made her smile as they continued on their way to join the rest of the party.

Looks like we came at a good time, Maria thought with a soft smile, seeing the line of all the people getting their food. She nodded when Dimitri said that he'd be right back, wondering where he had to go to. "I'll save you a spot," she said before walking over to the line, her eyes instantly spotting Arielle and Kedrick's sisters. She walked over to him with a grin on her face, excited to tell them the news, or mainly Arielle.

Arielle picked up her own plate, trying to figure out what she should eat. The air was filled with a mixture of different sweet aromas that it made it hard for her to decide. She could easily notice the few dishes she made, the ones that Maria and her mother made, and definitely her grandparents food. There was a plentiful amount of everything, so she could always come back when she was getting seconds. She had been waiting for this specific moment ever since the doctor's said she could eat solid food again.

She looked up in enough time to see Maria come over to them. She was glad to see her best friend return from and many questions arose in her mind about what happened between her and Dimitri. It has to be something really good, Arielle thought with a smile, Because her smile is the happiest I've ever seen.

"Hey there ladies," Maria said cheerfully, grabbing herself a plate and standing with them, "I have returned to make your lives so much better."

Arielle giggled and made a dramatic pose. "Oh what would we do without you, Maria?" she asked in the most dramatic voice she could muster before she looked at her friend with a smile. "So... How'd it go with Dimitri? You guys have been gone for some time."

"Oh Arielle, you honestly can not believe what happened," Maria said, a lovesick grin appearing on her face and her eyes lighting up with joy. "He confessed about how he felt about me and I had to tell him how I felt of course. But Arielle, I've never felt more happier in my life. When Kedrick confessed his love to you, you felt the same right? Like the world possibly couldn't bring you down because you were in love."

Arielle nodded simply, smiling at the memory. Even the Harvest Dance was long ago, she could remember it like it was yesterday. Even after they had confessed to each other that they had feelings that were more than just being friends, it wasn't until the whole Jonesy ordeal that their love seemed to have grown stronger and more confident. There was no more need for them to act all shy and bashful about holding their hands or even a simple kiss, although there still would be some light blushing here and there which mainly came from Arielle.

Before Arielle could ask where Dimitri was, she spotted him coming from being with Kedrick to coming over to join them in the line. Looking back at her friend, she could only smile brightly at her. "Congrats anyway, Maria," Arielle said sweetly, "I'm happy that you're happy."

"So you're married, Ria?" Eneas asked with a smirk, his arms wrapping itself around his baby sister's shoulders. He and Ulises were in the line to get some more food and had happened to notice that their little sister and the boy she liked had returned, and they couldn't pass up the moment to see how things went. "Or did he propose to you? Either or is wonderful, but you know your big brothers need to know."

"Definitely," Ulises said with a smirk, going over to Dimitri and dragging him over to the line, "So, brother in law, when's the wedding date?"

"Oh cut it out you two!" Maria exclaimed, an embarrassed blush on her face.

"But we have to know, Ria," Ulises protested with a grin, "And we know that our brother in law will tell us. Well, after he eats up. He's such a scrawny little thing."

Eneas nodded in agreement and Maria looked at them before something hit her. "Was that what you two were talking about when you were inspecting Dimitri like he was a piece of meat?" she asked, hoping that it was and wasn't true. However, their smiles proved otherwise.

"We're just afraid that our brother in law is going to fly away with the wind," Eneas said thoughtfully like it made sense, "So it's in our best interest to make sure he fills himself in."

Maria rolled her eyes, her blush getting worse. "Sometimes I wonder how we're related," she muttered, going into Spanish.

Arielle watched everything going on and couldn't help but giggle, knowing that her brothers were going to start messing with them sooner or later. But I wonder if they will get married, she thought with a small smile, I know its years down the road, but it's always something to think about. And then she thought of how Eneas and Ulises almost reminded her of when Kyla had asked Kedrick and Arielle to bring back a niece or a nephew. The thought was somewhat sudden and embarrassing at that moment, but now she wondered if she and Kedrick would get married and start their own family. It's always something to think about..., she repeated in her thoughts, her soft smile still there.

Dimitri walked towards the food line, his mind having drifted far away. A slightly lovesick smile touched his lips and he murmured words to a song under his breath "You're the one and only girl for me, tu es un, bonjour oui oui!" The french part was easy for him because unlike Maria, his second language was not his own. Dimitri and Kedrick were learning french, even though Dimitri was part Japanese.

Dimitri's head was quite suddenly yanked out of the clouds as Ulises came over and grabbed his arm, pulling him the rest of the way to the food line. "He- Hey! Wait!" Dimitri startled in surprise, his brows knitting together in a frown. "Come on! Lemme go." He said, rather moodily, pulling his arm out of Ulises grip. He knew that Ulises meant no harm, but it didn't change his gut reaction. The dark hair boy shook his head in surprise, doing a double take as he looked the considerable distance up at Ulises. "W-Wedding date! what are you taking abo-" He was cut of by Maria who had begun to protest as well. Then he heard The comment about 'he such a scrawny little thing.' Dimitri's face went pink and his hands tightened at his sides. "Cut it out! I'm not scrawny!" He said, stepping towards Ulises, although it may have looked more threatening if Dimitri was about a meter taller. Maria's brother's where both older, and definitely taller than he was, Dimitri came up to about their collar bones. He turned around quickly as he was verbally assaulted from Eneas's end as well. "You too!" He exclaimed angrily. "I'm not that small!"

Kedrick came over, his plate of food in hand. "What's going on over here?" He asked with a smile, briefly catching Arielle's gaze before looking back at Maria's brothers and his friend. It didn't take him long to piece it together and a slow smile seemed to split his face in half. He knew Dimitri was rather slight, he was maybe an inch taller than Maria, but next to her brothers he seemed miniscule. Kedrick used to razz him a bit about never hitting his growth spurt. The boy had always had no meat on his bones, slim shoulder, and not much to say about height.

Kedrick nodded his head. "Riiiight....I get it, Don't worry Dimitri, You'll grow eventually." He said with a teasing smirk, knowing that it would rial his friend further.

Dimitri turned, an incredulas look on his face. "What th- You too! Come on Kedrick, you're supposed to be on my side, that's kind of what friends do for each other!" He ranted, his face still slightly pink.

Kedrick's grin widened. "True, but friends also have to tell it to each other straight don't they?" He countered and watched with some pleasure as Dimitri fell into a defeated silence.

"See, this guy understands how we think," Eneas said with a grin, "But we're only just messing with you. Well, about the scrawny thing, no matter how true it is."

"And don't forget to mention that he needs more sun," Ulises said with a nod, "It's like he lives indoors all the time."

"Quit it you two," Maria hissed, returning back to English, "You're embarrassing Dimitri. And you two aren't perfect yourselves. That's why neither of you have girlfriends right now, because you're too busy heckling other people."

"But that's how we show we care about them," Eneas protested, "And we've been waiting sooo long to meet our brother in law, so of course all of this would just build up."

Maria blushed and crossed her arms, trying as hard as she could to not let her brothers ruin her good mood. "Stop calling Dimitri your brother in law. We're not get married. He just asked me out is all," she sighed and stared at her brothers, "Why are you two so convinced that Dimitri's going to ask for my hand?"

Both brothers looked at each other, giving their sister's question some thought. While that was going on, Arielle had continued preparing her plate. She paused, looking back and watching the ridiculous antics of her friends.

"Isn't it obvious?" Ulises asked in a serious tone, "It's because he's the only boy you've ever talked about in your sleep."

"THAT'S NOT A REAL REASON!" Maria exclaimed, her cheeks flushing up horribly to show how embarrassed she was. It didn't make it even better that her brothers had both broken out into laughter when their sister did that. She only scowled, looking away from them, staring hotly at the ground.

"I think you two may need to stop now," Arielle said, trying to keep the peace, "Before Maria goes off on an angry tangent in Spanish and gets you all into trouble."

"It wasn't the real reason anyway," Eneas said, also being serious, "Even though we're joking about the marriage part slightly, we've never seen her so happy about a boy. Sure, she's had her crushes and all but it's not the same way that she acts for Dimitri. Plus, there's just this sure feeling that these two were meant for each other."

"Just like for you and Kedrick," Ulises said with a smile, which grew a bit when Arielle looked confused, "We've watched the two of you grow up since you first became friends, and we always knew that you'd find the[ perfect guy for you in the future. We're kinda superstitious like that. Seeing these guys with you, making you smile, mainly we saw more of this with Maria from the way she acted at home, but you get the idea."

"So it's more of a belief of destiny kinda thing," Eneas continued simply, shrugging his shoulders, "And that's our answer to your question, Ria. That's our answer to why we're so sure you're going to get married to Dimitri in the future."

Maria had listened to her brothers, finding their explanation surprising. A faint smile found its way on her face before she looked at them, having calmed down a bit. "You two are really something," she said with a soft laugh.

"That's what family's supposed to be like," Arielle said with her own smile, feeling a bit surprised with their explanation but was glad to know that they had faith in the boys that they loved.

Dimitri blinked in surprise, slightly amused and more than a little bit embarrassed. The bright red still hadn't faded from his cheeks. Once they had quieted down, Dimitri turned to Eneas, almost having to stand on tip toes to whisper in his ear. "Does she really talk about me in her sleep?" He asked, a hint of a smirk on his lips as he dropped back onto the soles of his sneaker. Dimitri had chosen to ignore all the marriage talk, it had embarrassed him but he had tried to tune it out. He was still trying to cope with what he was going to do after a couple dates when she pressed into family matters, he couldn't even see as far ahead as marriage. Dimitri, despite himself, was still trying to keep a bit of a safety wall between his past and Maria. After all, if she would leave him after finding out than marriage wasn't even a possibility.

Dimitri brought his mind back to the present, knowing it wouldn't do to space out and miss Eneas's answer. He shifted his weight from foot to foot, wondering if Maria's brothers had just been teasing her, or if it was really true. He had to smile when he thought about it, Maria laying stretched out, her hair in her face, murmuring in her sleep. A small smile touched his lips.

Kedrick smiled and leaned over to Arielle. "Hey, I'm going to go find a table to set my stuff down," He said, gesturing down to his full hands. He had a paper plate of food in one hand and an open can of soda in the other. "When you're done in the line here, come on and sit down 'kay? And bring Maria, Dimitri and whoever else you want to drag along." He said with a good-natured smile, gently bumping her shoulder before walking off.

Kedrick crossed the lawn, dogging around officers, relatives and friends. He made his way back to the table where he had talked to Dimitri a minute ago. Kedrick looked around at the barbeque that went on around him. It was better than he could have imagined, there were people everywhere, everyone was laughing, talking, eating, and over all just having a wonderful time. It was perfect.

Arielle nodded, still realizing that she still had to finish getting her plate finished. She knew that Maria and Dimitri didn't even get started due to Eneas and Ulises making a scene, and she didn't even check to see if Kedrick's sisters were out of the line yet.

"Don't worry," she said with a smile before we left, "We'll be there soon." She watched as he walked away before paying attention to the food. She looked back at Maria and tugged lightly on her sleeve. "C'mon and get some food before your brothers upset you again."

"Oh alright," she said with a small smile, grabbing herself a plate and walking beside Arielle, making her way down along the line and picking out some food. After some silence between the two, Maria finally cleared her throat. "Do you think... Do you think my brothers really meant what they said about that whole superstitious thing?"

Arielle paused, having come to more of the dishes that smelled like Maria's home around dinnertime. She gave it some thought and shrugged her shoulders. "They were both sincere when they said that," Arielle answered simply, "So I don't think they'd be lying about that. And you know that despite their constant teasing, they have your best interests in heart, Maria."

Maria nodded, knowing her best friend meant the truth and looked back to see her brothers and Dimitri talk with each other. Despite the fact that they had blatantly told Dimitri an embarrassing secret and had messed with him about his weight, she was glad they were getting along. Marriage is still too much of an early thought, Maria thought to herself, picking up some of a vegetable dish that Arielle made.

Eneas watched as his sister walked away before grinning at Dimitri. "Every single night, lover boy," Eneas answered with a soft laugh, "It's kinda cute too, but you have to see it to believe it. And there's a whole lot of other things that you didn't know about Maria."

"Maybe we should tell him while we eat?" Ulises asked with a sneaky grin, knowing that Maria would most likely shoo them away in Spanish. "You know Maria's never going to tell him herself."

"Nah, just give her time," Eneas said with a small smile, "Eventually she'll open up completely like a book to Dimitri. I mean, it took her two and a half weeks to do that for Arielle. Even though that example is different, but still. But if you are curious brother in law, come to us. We have plenty of Maria stories from when she was little. Just promise to not die from her toddler cuteness, alright?"

(Small edit. I forgot a word XD.)

Athena stepped out the end of the line. She took a deep breath, smelling the different scents that wafted off of the paper plate she held in front of her. She had taken a hot dog straight from the grill and also had some kind of pasta salad, vegetables and something off of one of the Spanish dishes that Maria's mother had brought. She took another deep breath, hardly able to wait until she could taste everything.

Kyla walked by her, plate held in one hand, a plastic cup of bright red koolaid in her hand. Kyla's plate was laden with a hamburger and the rest was sweets. There had been so many desserts present that the girls could hardly pass any of them up. She hummed placidly to herself as she walked by her older sister.

Athena gaped. "You're not going to eat all of that are you?!" She asked in horrified disbelief, staring at all the desserts.

Kyla paused a moment, seemed to conscider her answer and then nodded firmly. "Yes, yes I am." She replied and kept walking as though that was the end of the matter. She looked back over her shoulder at Athena. "Hey, do you know where we're sitting? Do we just find a place or are we eating with Kedrick? If we're eating with Kedrick we must be eating with Arielle, They're always together! It's kind of cute actually, I wonder if I'll ever find a guy like that..." Kyla said, getting sidetracked and forgetting her original question.

Athena sighed. "I don't know where we're sitting, but what I do know, is that you can't possibly eat all those sweets by yourself!" She said, snagging a cupcake off the top of her pile.

Kyla yelped in protest "Hey wait! That's not fair Athena! The doctor said you have to be careful of what you eat!" She said earnestly, but was eying the cupcake the whole time.

Athena laughed softly. "Come on Kyla, Chill, one cupcake isn't going to kill me, but if you eat all they you're going to put yourself into a sugar coma." She replied evenly and circled around to the middle of the line, spotting Arielle. "Hey Arielle!" He called over to her. "Do you know where Kedrick's sitting?" She asked.

Dimitri blinked in surprise. "Really?" He asked, his cheeks going a shade pink as Eneas used the nick name 'lover boy' it seemed a lot of people saw it fitting. "Hey..." He said with a slightly suspicious frown. "You haven't met my friend Kedrick have you?" He asked, picking up a plate and stepping into the line. Dimitri knew that Kedrick had been the one to first dub him 'lover boy' maybe Maria's brothers had heard him use the nick name. If that was the case, Dimitri would have to have a very 'serious' talk with Kedrick.

"I've heard about him," Eneas said simply, "And I got to meet him, but I haven't really been able to sit down and have a full on conversation with him. Why do you ask, brother in law?"

Arielle looked up, almost finishing getting the food on her plate as Athena had called her name. She gave it some thought, realizing that Kedrick hadn't exactly told her where they were going to sit at at all. She looked around, trying to find that familiar head through all the other men that were in the backyard. "Oh, I see him now," Arielle said, trying to make sure that's him. "You guys want to probably head in a somewhat north direction from here... I think... He's just a few tables off."

"If you want," Maria said, already having finished getting her plate together, "I can lead them over to Kedrick now and then I'll come back for you and Dimitri."

"Don't worry," Arielle said with a smile, "I'll meet you at the table if you guys want to join. Besides, I'm sure you probably want to keep an eye on your brothers anyway. You know how they can get out of hand if you don't keep an eye on them."

Maria smiled, knowing how true she was. She looked back, noticing that Dimitri was still talking with Ulises and Eneas and hoping that they weren't embarrassing him or mainly her again. With a sigh, she nodded and looked back at her friend. "Alright. I'll see what Dimitri has to say before we join you. If he wants us to be alone well," Maria said, not sure how to finish the sentence.

"I'd respect that either way," Arielle readily said, "Not sure how Kedrick will feel, but I'm sure he'll understand. See you soon though. C'mon ladies, lets go meet up with Kedrick." She said, meaning the present Suwa sisters before making her way to where Kedrick was.

Maria had a small smile before walking back to her brothers and Dimitri. She wondered what they had been talking about that entire time and only hoped it wasn't anything completely embarrassing. Since they were older than her, she knew that had countless stories of when she was younger. Some embarrassing and others weren't, but she didn't want them to overwhelm him with stories so far.

"Ahh, there goes our little Ria," Ulises said with a small smile, "Was wondering when you'd come back."

"I had to make sure you weren't doing anything stupid," Maria said with a small smile, "And there's no way I'm letting you scare away my boyfriend."

"Now now, Ria," Eneas said with a grin, "We would never scare him away. We like him too much to do that. We just wanted to bond with him is all."

"You're keeping him from eating though, as well as yourselves," Maria commented, a small smirk on her face.

Both brothers paused and looked at each other before realizing that they were still holding onto their plates of food. They both laughed before each of them stood on one side of Maria.

"Sneaky, Ria," Ulises joked, "Trying to keep our wonderful brother in law to yourself. Have you no shame?"

Maria giggled and shook her head, moving away from her brothers and standing next to Dimitri. "Of course I feel no shame," she replied simply, "He's mine anyway and I have a right to keep him to myself as much as I want. But don't worry, you'll get to see him."

All three of them broke out laughing before the two brothers excused themselves to go eat their food before it got too cold with their parents and Arielle's grandparents. When they were far enough away, Maria looked at Dimitri with a small apologetic smile. "I hope they were on their best behavior with you," she said, already feeling embarrassed for whatever her brothers may have done when she was getting her food.

(Feel like this could've been better. Headache not really helping me out here... :/.)

Dimitri nodded his head in understanding to what Eneas was saying. "Right," He paused slightly, his cheeks going a fraction pinker at the brother-in-law part. "Nothing..." He mumbled irritably. "I just wondered, you guys seemed to share a few traits in common...and could you knock it off with the brother-in-law stuff, I hope you know we're not that far yet, I only just asked her out. Plus, you hardly even know me..." He said, his face heating up further the more he talked.

Kedrick looked over as Arielle, Athena and Kyla came in his direction, Kyla bouncing on Athena's heels trying to reach a cupcake that her older sister was holding over her head. He stood with a grin, walking to short distance over to them. "That look's yummy, thanks." He said, plucking the cupcake from Athena's fingers.

"Hey!" Both girl's yelped in surprise. "That's mine!"

Athena took a deep breath, giving Kedrick a reprimanding look. "It is mine. Kyla had enough on her plate so I took it from her." She gestured down to Kyla's plate which did indeed have quite a decent amount of sweets on it.

Kedrick laughed softly, following her gesture. "She's right, I think you can live without a cupcake Kyla." He said, handing it back to Athena who began to peel the paper off.

Kyla looked pouty, turning her face away from Kedrick. He got the feeling that she would have crossed her arms, but her hands were full of the other foods that she didn't want to loose.

Kedrick smiled, gently cuffing her cheek with the back of his fingers. "Come on, Don't pout, let's sit down." He said with a smile, looking up at Arielle.

Dimitri felt a small smile touch his face when Maria came around to them. He watched in silence as she and her brothers talked, just enjoying the exchange. His smile widened when Maria called him her boyfriend, he was almost certain that it hadn't happened quite this fast for Kedrick and Arielle. But then again, Kedrick and Arielle both weren't near so outgoing or flirtatious as he and Maria were, so it made sense.

Dimitri watched as Maria's two brothers weren't off to find a table and he stepped out of the end of the line himself, his plate loaded with a little bit of everything. He grinned, waving away her concern. "Don't worry, they didn't talk my ears off if that's what you mean." He said with a smile, catching her fingers in his. "So, my dear girlfriend, where shall we sit?"

"Oh that's good," Maria said, sounding relieved. Sometimes she could never be too sure about what her older brothers would do. But if Dimitri seemed fine, then she had to take his word for it. She intertwined her fingers with his, smiling and gave his question some thought, even though the question itself wasn't that hard. "Well, we could always sit with my family and Arielle's grandparents, Kedrick, Arielle, and his sisters, or we could just eat together, by ourselves," Maria said, listing the options. "Arielle said it didn't matter to her much where we chose to eat at but I can't really answer for Kedrick since he was already at a table. But it's your choice anyway, Dimitri. Wherever you want to sit is fine with me."

"All of you are goofy," Arielle giggled after they had met up with Kedrick. She had watched as he took away Athena's cupcake and listened to the story of how the cupcake came to be in Athena's possession. She felt herself smile at how they were acting before walking beside Kyla, messing with her hair with her other hand. "Don't worry, Kyla," she said, "I know the recipes for these cupcakes pretty well. So, if you or any of your sisters ask for them, I'll always have them ready for you."

She smiled, ruffling Kyla's head one last time before walking over to Kedrick. "Dimitri and Maria may or may not join us," Arielle said, looking back at the new couple. "I'm sure Maria's talking with Dimitri about it now since he was stuck dealing with her brothers, but I thought I let you know beforehand so that you're not worrying about where our best friends disappeared off to." She finished her sentence with a soft smile before another question came to mind. "So... Where exactly are we sitting at again?"

Dimitri listened to their options thoughtfully, his head cocked to the side. He smiled, swinging their interlocked hands between them as they walked. "Well," He said thoughtfully, "If you ask me, dates are the time for sitting across the table from each other and spending time alone. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but parties are the time for socializing, so why don't we go join Kedrick and the others?" He asked with a small smile, squeezing her hand gently, hoping she wouldn't be disappointed at his decision

Kedrick smiled, "This way," He said, turning and walking towards the table where he had set his stuff down. He walked over to the table and sat down in front of his food, gesturing for everyone else to sit as well.

Kyla seemed to accept Arielle's reasoning on the subject of the cupcake and brightened up again. She bounced over to Kedrick, plopping herself down beside him and picking up her hamburger. "Look Athena." She said haughtily, her little nose stuck up in the air. "I'm being a good girl and eating my hamburger before my dessert."

Athena smiled dryly, sitting down on her other side. "Do you want a medal or something?" She asked with a smirk, reminding Kedrick of Sakimi for a moment. It was kind of strange, all of Kedrick's sister's had starkly different personalities, Sakimi was cold, dignified and yet sometimes caring, Athena was bright and level headed. Keira tried desperately to mimic her older sisters almost uncaring demeanor but there seemed more to her than what you could see. Keira's twin sister Gwen was quiet and bookish, Kyla of course was brash and straight forward. Raine shy, but around people she knew became much more talkative, and the youngest, Terra was quietly curious. Despite all this, it seemed that you could always see different bits of their other sister's personality's in them at times. It was a bit of a bizarre concept, to hear Athena sometimes talk like Sakimi, or see a hint Kyla's brashness shy little Raine. But still, when you had that many girls living in one place together, it was inevitable that they would rub off on each other.

Kyla payed Athena's comment no mind and continued to eat, her head held high.

"Perfect," Maria said with a bright grin, giggling lightly with him swinging their hands back and forth. It was something she remembered doing with Arielle when they were younger. "I mean, I was probably going to join them either way in the end, but I still wanted to know what you thought." She glanced around, still admiring the number of people in Kedrick's backyard. It was like a family reunion to her. Everyone getting together and enjoying one others' company. "I hope you enjoy the food Dimitri," Maria said, finding the most random thing to talk about. I so need better topics, Maria thought with a small laugh.

Arielle followed Kedrick along with his sisters to the table they were sitting at. She took her seat right across from Kedrick and started eating her food, watching Kyla and Athena and giggling. She was glad she was able to spend more time with them today. She had to make sure that she planned to hang out with them more often, especially since she had to keep her promise with Athena. Now that life was beginning to return to normal for Arielle, she remembered that Maria had gotten her a job at her aunt's bakery. She was so excited about starting a real job and was so glad that Maria was able to help her get one.

She looked up, scanning for the new couple when she eventually saw them heading over, a smile on there way. "Incoming," Arielle said, "New couple coming at six o clock."

(Meh... This is awful x.x.)
