Annie bit her bottom lip, unsure of what was the right answer, but to claim that meta-humans did not have full self control was quite dangerous. "Agatha Morris behavior was quite typical. She obviously was very concerned about my safety and the safety of the others involved. Yet, throughout the whole incident she was quite herself..." She paused and crossed her arms, "Y'all have the tape, why do you need me?"

Judging by Mr. Reynolds's glare at her, maybe it was good she was speaking, sighing and pushing her auburn hair behind her ear she continued, "Regardless, I have lived several months with Agatha Morris, and I would know a great deal about her general behavior. And, no doubt Shane feels a little overprotective of his little sister considering the events that transpired with Mr. Charles Ray."

Annie clenched her fist and her temper was raising, taking a deep breath she continued, "What are you looking for? An excuse to prove that Agatha Morris is dangerous and irresponsible whenever she uses her abilities? If you are seeking a safe society, I would suggest locking up not only every meta-human out there but also every single human out there too. Before you start pointing fingers you should very well consider who stands before you. I am a class three with a range of approximately fifty feet. If you are going to worry about dangerous meta-humans, I really do believe you are looking in the wrong direction. Or better yet, why don't you guys focus on Mr. Cortez who almost killed me and several dozen others!?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 14, 2010 8:39 pm

Reynolds vocally scoffs at Annie, "We are still trying to assess the proper way to handle Mr. Cortez. These things have to be planned out Ms. Soulsmith. We don't have the ability to just make weapons out of thin air the way Agatha Morris does. As for why we need to question you, it's because we cannot fully trust Agatha Morris' evidence. She is class 1 with technological control capability, and could have very easily doctored the evidence to make it look like he was the main antagonist in that altercation."

Shane removes his arm from around Annie's shoulder and points with the opposite one, "b*****d, she's just a kid. The investigation of the area shows nothing out of the ordinary from what is shown in the footage. She had every opportunity to install weapons, and she didn't."

"Of course not, not if she were ordered not to do so by someone within the facility." His greasy lips slide open into a malevolent grin.

Shane lowers his arm and cuts his eyes at Reynolds, "Is that what you think? That I would tell my sister to commandeer one of our experimental suits?"

The old man in the monitor sighs, "Mr. Morris, the way things appear right now aren't in your favor. Being that you have the most contact with your sister, the possibility that you can manipulate her is not out of the question. However, considering the situation surrounding your parent's death, and now your sister having been abducted by Charles Ray, it would not seem all that unlikely for you to take advantage of your sister's incredible capabilities. It is Mr. Reynolds belief, however, that your sister strayed from your intended target. It is his suggestion to remove your sister from the custody of your or her friends to be kept here away from your influence. Do you have anything to say in regards to this accusation?"

Shane's eyes widen in shock. Use Gidget to attack Ray, the thought had crossed his mind once. Then it dawned on him that his parents would never forgive him for such a foul act. Shane opens his mouth to say something, but can't seem to get it out. If this continues on it's current course, he is going to lose Gidget.

Gidget laughs nervously, "Ah right school, I had almost completely forgotten about-" Her watch rings again and she jumps in surprise. "Oh, excuse me Mrs. Smith." She presses the button on her earpiece again, "Hi Lily!" She pauses a moment while Lily speaks. She sucks air in through her teeth, "I haven't gotten them yet. I don't know where Ako is, but I'm sure they are safe with him. Never mind that though, are you alright? Did Shane take good care of you. He better have or he's going to get the biting of a lifetime!"

Mrs. Smith was beginning to have second thoughts on whether or not taking her doctor this time and ask them to do a check up on her was the right thing to do. She looked to Gidget with a face that wanted to ask her something before she goes.

Meanwhile Trinity was thinking about tomorrow. She still has every intention on meeting up with Lev at the house. She decided that as for the battle earlier today he was defending himself from the girl that turned the rain into acid but was getting carried away when he tried to shock her. She was certain that meta-human or no she would be heavily wounded or dead if the shadow creature didn't step in the way. She really wanted to learn how to control her new found abilities and so far it seamed only Lev could counter her ability and make sure she doesn't sink too far. She didn't want to hid this ability from her mom but she was so tired from the battle earlier that she couldn't tell her. With that in mind she wanted to tell her first thing in the morning. Her eyes became heavy as she sleeps.

Annie's fist tightened as she ran to Leonard Reynolds desk and slammed her palms into the desk, though she was quite tempted to do so in the man's fist. Where her palms hit left the desk with splinters around her hand prints. "Do you honestly believe a thirteen year old girl would listen to her guardian? We don't even know where Charles Ray is! And trust me, if I did, I sure as Hell would have taken care of that b*****d myself."

"Do you men have no shame? Y'all are doing the exact same thing that Charles Ray tried to do," snapped Annie, furious. "Don't you think that if Mr. Morris was out to take advantage of anyone's capabilities it would have been of mine long before his sisters? When I told Shane about my plans to take care of Charles Ray myself he practically begged me not to! Does that sound like the type of man to try to manipulate a thirteen year old girl into taking care of a sociopathic son of a b***h like Charles Ray?"

The man in the monitor tilts his head in confusion. "Ms. Soulsmith please calm yourself. No one is suggesting that we force the girl to make machines for us." He looks over to Reynolds with a reassuring heir, "Isn't that right Mr. Reynolds? You were just wanting to place Agatha Morris in foster care, yes?"

The sweat on Reynolds brow beads up considerably during Annie's tirade of insults and accusations. He had no love for this girl the moment she walked in beside that weasel Morris, but now he absolutely despises her. He almost doesn't hear his superior over the ringing in his ear. He stammers out, "Uh erm...yes, of course. My intention is to place her in foster care, away from her brother's harmful influence. If theeee girl so desires, she can be administered into Valhalla. Of course that would mean that Shane Morris would have his rights and accesses revoked."

Shane sees the opening he has been waiting for. Annie had laid the pressure on perfectly. Now he just has to land a cross before her final uppercut. "Sir, how much of what goes on here actually goes by you?"

The man in the monitor ponders for a bit, "Well, I approve research and staffing. As well as act as an intermediary between your department and Odin."

Shane thought as much. He doesn't get the names of the meta-humans who choose to develop their abilities here. Odds are any research that is swung by him is sugar coated by Reynolds. Shane delivers the cross, "So it's safe to say that you don't know any of the names of the people enrolled here. That someone could be brought here against their will and you'd never hear of it?"

The old man sits up straight, "Although I do not see the names of people enrolled in Valhalla, I certainly doubt anyone would cover up someones enrollment."

Shane looks over at Reynolds and crosses his arms, "Do you hear that Mr. Reynolds? If I were ever removed from my position here, my sister would never come here willingly."

The sweat starts to come down considerably now. He hacks and wipes the sweat off of his brow again. "What are you getting at Mr. Morris? For what possible reason would I make her come here against her will?"

Lilith let out a small laugh as she watched him. Then she stopped dead. This was the first time she had laughed since her sister pasted on. It... felt better then she though it would. Her eyes clouded over for just a moment before she looked back to Gray and smiled. She let out a contented sigh as she leaned back in her chair somewhat. "You know, I haven't had this much fun in a while.... I'm glad we ran into each other." She tilted her head to the side somewhat before she looked down at the table and blush. 'That sounded not the way I wanted it to.'

Tansy's eyes pleaded with Ako for him to stay, but she dare not say a word in front of the doctor. She hated him. Although she knew that he meant good. It was those drugs which sent her to the Void. And it was there she would be likely to run into that voice. She didn't want to go back. She squeezed her eyes shut as she clenched her fists. The heart monitor began to beep faster.

"I am restraining myself," Annie snapped, under her breath, crossing her arms.

Rolling her eyes she continued in a dangerous tone of voice, "Mr. Reynolds are you stupid? Anyone could see the advantages of taking Ms. Morris in and forcing her to use her powers. Do you care to hear the fascinating reasons Mr. Charles Ray gave to me when I asked him why he wanted her so bad?"

She tossed her auburn hair over her shoulder and said calmer, "If you insist on the need to transfer her care- which would be a very idiotic decision as the girl will no doubt run away from any caretaker that you chose at least, I do know of someone who could take care of her for some time. You could place her in the care of my father in Georgia. Would that suit you Mr. Reynolds? You just want her safe: where would be safer for her than several states away and from the 'harmful influence' of Shane Morris?"

She smiled at Leonard Reynolds, knowing full well that was not what the man wanted. He wanted to be able to use Gidget for his plans, though he was claiming to just want to 'protect' the girl. Well, if it was as he claimed, the situation Annie proposed would be perfect. Her brown eyes narrowed at him and she smiled widely, challenging the man to challenge her suggestion.

Reynolds was not expecting this turnabout. He coughs into his handkerchief and rebuts, "That wouldn't be possible Ms. Soulsmith. Your relationship with Mr. Morris would only serve as a link. B-besides, she has to be monitored after the incident earlier today. She has to remain in the city limits."

Shane steps up beside Annie and shouts, "My sister isn't a danger to anyone. She is young and impulsive, but who isn't at the age of thirteen. She at that age where she thinks she is invincible. She wouldn't harm someone who doesn't attack her first."

Reynolds cocks a snarky tone, "Your sister's power is much to dangerous to be unwatched by Valhalla. There is no telling what she could make on a whim.

"But that's exactly what you want, isn't it?" Shane reaches into his jacket and pulls out a red and white orb roughly the size of a softball. "Something like this?"

Reynolds jumps from his chair and backs away slowly, all the while coughing and hacking. "Where did you get that?"

Shane looks down at the orb and rolls it around in his hand. He muses, "Oh this, surely you must have figured it out by now. I mean, look at it's childishly bright design."

The two men knew exactly what it was. Reynolds had conveniently left a blueprint of a device he had been working on getting passed in Gidget's line of sight in the R&D lab. Gidget had hidden it in a place where only Shane would know where to look. He had relayed this to Annie shortly after their meal. For all intents and purposes Shane Morris was holding a bomb in his hand.

Annie sighed, massaging her forehead, "How perplexing: she is too dangerous to be unwatched by Valhalla but she is too dangerous to be inside of Valhalla. After all it wouldn't be that hard for her to get into the R&D department again, would it, Mr. Reynolds?"

"You seem quite eager, sir, to have her specifically under your thumb," replied Annie coldly. "The potential uses for Ms. Morris's abilities is numerous and it is quite understandable how someone could imagine to use her powers to foster their own agendas. Yet, imagining that and doing so are two different matters, Mr. Reynolds. Throwing out accusations like you have been doing is revolting- much as your presence for someone who is sensitive to auras such as myself."

"My abilities may be poisonous, but your soul is sir," Annie said addressing Leonard Reynolds directly, as she stepped towards him. "No two auras are alike, but they can be similar based on objectives. Your hunger for Agatha Morris is just as apparent as Mr. Charles Ray's was. No..." She said pausing massaging her forehead, "more so."

Reynolds' lower lip quivers with rage, his eyes not leaving the explosive device in Shane's hands. "I need her, there is no other way to combat you freaks. How else are we going to combat the likes of Leviathan Cortez? That brat will build anything that is put in front of her. I know it was her that destroyed Ray's tower. That power has to be humanity's. There is no other way to keep meta-humans in check. They have to be controlled, they have to be-"

Shane presses a button on the front of the orb and lobs it at his boss. The man squeals and cries while running up against the opposite wall. He starts clawing at the wall and jabbering in terror. There is a click and the orb pops open. From inside it comes a small yellow mouse creature on a spring repeating the same sound over and over. "Pika-Pika-Pikachu!"

Reynolds clasps his chest and pants heavily, a clearly audible wheeze escapes his lungs on each inhale.

Shane stares at Reynolds with an icy glare. "Not quite what you were expecting was it? I believe it was supposed to explode and evaporate every last bit of moisture in a fifty foot radius. My sister thought it'd be better as a toy for children."

Reynolds begins to blubber as he wipes the sweat from his brow. He feels something warm running down the length of his trousers. Unfortunately for him, he decided to wear faded khakis today. A stench starts to permeate from where he is standing. He looks at Annie and Shane accusingly. "You...you s-set me up. A-anyone would admit t-t-t-to an-nything if they were th-threatened with a bomb."
PostPosted: Mon Mar 15, 2010 1:21 pm

There was a loud slap as Annie's palm met with Reynolds cheek, "Keep meta-humans in check? You b*****d! Have you no shame? To try to keep meta-humans in check by using a meta-human?!"

Her eyes were dark with rage, she was furious at the words the man had spouted. It was one thing to have a good feeling and knowledge of what a despicable man was, it was another to hear it worded. "And you're wrong Leonard Reynolds. Not everyone would admit to anything if they were threatened with a bomb. I would rather die than lie."

"So, Mr. Reynolds, are you going to try to control me?" Annie snapped, raising her hand to slap him again, it shaking in the air as she barely controlled her anger. "Put me in my place where every single meta-human belongs? First it is going to be putting away the Leviathan Cortezes of the world, next is going to be dangerous meta-humans like myself, then the "smaller fry" meta-humans, then the ones that can so much as have an inkling of 'unnatural abilities' and while you're at it, anyone who sympathizes with meta-humans too."

"I am not a violent person, Mr. Reynolds," said Annie in a hiss, placing her quavering hand on his shoulder, "and be thankful for that; however, I will protect myself and my friends and innocents from harm."

Stepping back to where Shane stood, she clenched her fist shaking in anger and hatred. Before her power would start activating around her, but instead she had been able to constrain herself. She might have felt proud of herself if her overall hatred and disgust for the man in front of them wasn't predominating her mood.

Shane places a hand on Annie's shoulder to let her know he is with her. A quiet, soothing, "It's alright." flows into her ear.

The man on the monitor seems to be laughing. "Oh, oh my. I must say that this is the most entertainment I've had in a long while. I digress, I've heard more than enough from you Mr. Reynolds."

There is a bright flash and a loud bang that follows just behind it. A dangerous looking man in a black overcoat and sunglasses emerges from the flash right beside Reynolds. They meet each others eyes, and once again Leonard Reynolds soils himself. "No, oh please no!"

The dark man grips Reynolds' shoulder harshly and growls at him, "It's time to go filth." There is another flash/bang, and they are gone. There is only the stain left behind by Reynold's weak constitution.

The man in the monitor looks at Annie and Shane with a wise smile. "I wouldn't worry about him ever again. Oh don't worry, Thor wont kill him. He has been taken to a place where his mind will be wiped of any knowledge pertaining to this facility, or the people involved. However I am left in a bit of a pinch. I need a new head of Bio-tech. Shane, I knew your father from long ago, and I see the same fire in you that I saw in him. I know you will be up to the task."

Shane's face distorts with a mix of joy, surprise, and nerves. He finally manages to stammer out, "Ah...oh -um...thank you sir."

The man focuses his eyes back to Annie, "As for you Ms. Soulsmith. Never in my life have I seen such a blunt, sincere, polite, and yet loudmouthed woman...not since my wife died some ten years ago. I'd like to assign you as Mr. Morris' personal assistant. Debra's lively nature kept me in check. I am certain you will have no difficulty keeping your man in line should he stray."
PostPosted: Mon Mar 15, 2010 2:27 pm

Annie turned bright red at the man on the monitor's praise. She bowed to him, a huge smile on her face, "Um...Thank-you, sir. Thank-you very much. I'll try to do my best... if that is okay with Mr. Morris of course."

She turned to him smiling, with her hands behind her back and then standing on her tip toes pecked Shane on the cheek, "Congratulations on the promotion, Shane Morris!"

Shane can feel all the blood in his body rush toward his face. He'd never been so much as pecked on the cheek by a woman before. He places a hand on his face and looks at Annie with bewildered eyes.

The man on the monitor laughs again, "Well Mr. Morris, I'll have someone clean this office up. It will be ready to be occupied by you tomorrow. Now you kids get some rest...or don't. Just go enjoy your youth." The monitor cuts off ad the door out of Shane's office opens.

Shane steps out of the office and stands in the hallway. He leans against the wall, still very much bewildered at what had just transpired. "I can't believe that just happened."
