As I was running I noticed that Chan showed up and that Kouchi tripped, trying my best not to laugh for I knew then that Chan must of scared the daylights out of him. Slowing my pace some so I wouldnt be out of breath when I finally got to them. I noticed that the tategami had hidden among the rocks.
Finally coming up from behind, I said, "So what are we going to do now guys, plus since its gone can't we just go back to the others?"

The rock walls of the canyon rose high on both sides of him and cast long shadows upon the ground. He barely noticed how the wind made an eerie whistling sound as it passed through the middle of the canyon, stirring up sand in small clouds.
He moved forward slowly, not sure what was to be around the bend....if the tategami waited in ambush, or if something worse awaited him. He came to a sharp corner and could hear the sounds of a scuffle coming from around it. He peeked around to find the tategami fighting another creature...a much larger creature weilding a large, bloodstained battle axe. Kouchi watched from around the corner as the two creatures hissed and bellowed as they fought.

So do you still wish to help?

The chikoshou and tategami con. the trade blows. Kouchi noticed the blood stone dangling from the hand of the tategami. He returned his gaze to the chikoshou.
"I've never seen one of those before...it almost looks like a minotaur," he said quietly to himself.
The tategami jumped up into the air and slashed, but the chikoshou was faster. It brought it's heavy axe around swiftly and snapped the smaller creature in two. The large creature bellowed triumphantly before if started to devour the bottom half of the dead tategami.
The blood stone still lay within the hand of the upper half...but that half was past the larger chikoshou. He sighed as he turned away from watching the creature eat.
"Great...now I have to get it back before he devours it too..."

"A what?!" I exclaimed, "are you sure and how are we to kill that?" somewhat in shocked, but still keeping my eyes on Kouchi.

The chikushou had finished the first half of its meal and was moving towards the second half. Kouchi drew in a sharp breath. He didn't wish to face the creature head on, but he couldn't allow it to devour the blood stone. He watched on helplessly as the chikushou stopped suddenly and picked up the stone. It examined it for a long time before placing it around its neck. It gave a snort of satisfaction at its new trophy before starting to eat again.
Kouchi cursed again. "That creature is smart enough to know that the stone wasn't food? Argh, this just makes it that much harder."
He looked back and saw Chan and Takara and signaled them to come over quietly.

Nodding to what Chan was saying, I noticed that Kouchi had signaled for us to come. "Chan lets go." I said softly and headed towards Kouchi, making sure that I didnt make a sound for I saw that creature was standing there eating something.

"Magic is not going to help anymore." he said, overhearing Chan's idea. He hesitated before going further, but figured he had no choice. "The blood stone around the chikushou's neck acts like a magic shield. It blocks all but the most powerful of magic..." he sighed. "Well, blocks it isn't quite correct either....it absobs it. Its the magic that the stone stores that allows us to raise the dead with it."

Chan asked know he couldnt fight without magic for he didnt have his sword.

"Provided we don't damage the stone. That much magic stored in one tiny place...just think of the effects were the stone to be crushed." he said with a foreboding look in his eyes. "That may be all we can use though. I doubt any of our weapons could stand a blow from that. " He pointed at the heavy battle axe.
