He frowned slightly, and nodded slowly. It still stung when she doubted him, but how could he blame her? She was so used to being abandoned that he might as well be no exception.
"I will never leave you," he said, coming closer to her just slightly. Now it wasn't about winning any kind of game, but bringing her back in from her doubt and fears. If he could just break that, if he could just destroy that doubt, maybe she would be happier...

Raquel swallowed a moment, just looking into his eyes. After an awkward silence, she smiled, so slightly but it was there. She reached out, taking his hand gently, and pulled him towards the hallway, glancing back at him with a trusting, loving look. She brought him back into his room, shutting the door softly.

Lorey woke up a little late at night. What had been meant as a nap had stretched out into all-out sleep, disturbed by nothing. She sat up in bed to rub her eyes. She felt rested, and that rarely happened with everything that had been going on. Richard was peaceful, though. Their conversation before they'd fallen asleep, about their future home and kids and dogs still warmed her heart.
"Richard," she whispered to him. "Richard, it's nearly nine..."

Richard gave a little moan as he slowly came too. "Huh? Ah...wow...I was jstu having the best dream..." He smiled sleepily, rubbing his eyes. He rolled over to look at Lorey, and smiled wider. "It looks like I'm still in it too..." He sighed, giving her a kiss. "Wait, is it 9 in the morning?" He asked, though noted how dark it was outside.

"No," she laughed. "It's night. We slept for a good time, yeah?" Lorey reached out a a hand to brush his hair with her nails. He always looked wonderful when he just woke up and was all messy. "We slept right through dinner."
Meanwhile, Damian lay awake in bed next to Raquel. He said he wouldn't leave her, so he just stayed put. What he was feeling was so... strange. Usually he just felt relieved of frustrations and chipper, but then, he was worried. Had he hurt her? Was she alright? She'd done something that frightened her, though she was willing. Did that mean she fully trusted him? Damian didn't want to wake her. He just wanted to watch her be peaceful for a bit longer.

Richard was still smiling like a fool, but a sleepy one. "Well then we'll just have to go have our own little late night dinner no?" He offered as the rain poured outside. "Unless you're not hungry..." He nuzzled her nose with his as he Richard a large hand to gently caress her soft pale face.
Raquel slept with her hand on his bare chest, his heart more specifically. Lost somewhere peacefully in he own dream world, tangled up in the comforter and her own thoughts, she seemed content if not happy. Since the rain had picked up, a little bit of Thunder and lightening had joined them too, causing her to flinch ever so slightly in her sleep. The whole day had been filled with nothing but giggles, and smiles, laughs and kisses, and even a few tears. But ones of joy and happiness... ones shed not too long ago. As another muffled clap of thunder echoed through the quiet house, she stirred slightly. She let out a soft moan before calling out "D-damian...?" But it was such a soft whisper, it was hard to tell if she were still asleep or not. Though finally, after several moments, she let her eyes flicker open to rest on Damian's soft protective face. She smiled. "Hi..." was all she whispered, silently her heart swelling that he was still here with her. It wasn't like she expected him to be gone. It was just what she was used to.

"Oh, I'm starving!" she whispered. "I think it was my stomach growling that woke me up. Do you think Damian and Raquel would want a big dinner, or are we just going with something like... mac and cheese? Something easy that won't make a big mess this late." Lorey kissed his nose as he nuzzled. How he could be so big and so gentle, she wasn't sure.
"Hello there..." Despite the storm outside, his face was serene, and utterly happy. Look down at Raquel, he saw perfection. No one could undo that image of her, despite how many had already tried to do so. "The storm's picking up a little," he whispered as he stroked her hair. "We are safe, though. Safe and sound."

Well I didn't hear them come in but that doesn't mean they didn't...and i didn't hear anyone in the kitchen...but I'm not going to see if they're awake. Oh no sir. I learned my lesson to not walk in on those two..." He laughed a little as he sat up a bit sore.
Raquel smiled in return, scooting closer to him, resting her head on his chest. "...Damian..? ...I love you..." Was her only reply, though, it held soemthing so deep behind it. Something deeper than the fleeting 'i love you's society throws around. It was a deep deep meaning that she wasn't sure she used with Damian before.

"Well that wasn't your fault!" she giggled. As she watched him, she noticed his wince and stiffness, concerned. "Here, hang on a sec..." Lorey shifted behind him and began rubbing his shoulders and upper back with her rough little hands.
Damian sat up more so that he could cradle her. With his bare little love in his arms, he felt as if he had nothing else in the world to gain. Everything was right there, looking back up at him with green eyes.
"I love you, too... and thank you." He'd never thanked anyone for intimacy before. This was more of a gratitude for her trust, because he knew he had been given it fully with what had transpired.

"Ah Lorey, please I'm fine..." Even though it felt heavenly. He didn't want her fussing over him. Richard hated to admit it, but his life of reckless stunts, fights, dangerous jobs that left him injured and bruised, were finally catching up to him. "It's just old age..." He joked, stretching his arm a few times before hearing a satisfying pop.
Raquel furrowed her brow but smiled. "No, thank you..." She said softly. "You're still here..." She burrowed her head into his chest, fighting the urge to cry as she hugged him. "Damian Centurion...You've done it...you've saved me..." She whispered as a single tear escaped to his bare chest.

"Oh, hush. You're not old." As she worked on his shoulders, she gave him a kiss on the neck. He was always fussing about being too old for her, and it never seemed to end. "Maybe a little older than me, but you're not old..."
Confusion was always one reaction he got from Raquel. "Strange way to save you," he said with laughter lacing his voice. "I kept my word... And always will. How couldn't I when you trust me so much?"

Richard smiled and sighed, letting her massage him for a bit longer. "I'm old in in and body my dear...more so in mind maybe...." He laughed, messing with his already bed head hair.
Raquel rolled over on her stomach so she could look up at him better, even propping herself up a bit. "Not just for this....Just....Everything you've done..." She looked into those silvery pools she loved so much, reaching out to touch his face. "When I met you, I knew you weren't going to be good for my career, despite you saying you'd compensate me...I was right there..." She smiled. "You were indeed horrible for my career since I'm no longer in it..that speaks for itself. She smiled so dreamily, looking at him. "And from there, everything you've done for me...has just..." She had a look of amazement on her face as she shook her head. "Can't you see that?" She asked, trying to get up closer to his face, so she could look him more directly in the eye, as well as just be closer to him.

"Well, I'm catching up to you. I'll be twenty six soon, and you can't be five years older than me forever, now, can you?" Lorey laughed as her hands slipped from his lower back to around his waist so she could hug him tightly. "When's your birthday, Richard?"
Damian nodded a bit. Alright, he thought, he could understand that. He could definitely walk around thinking he served the greatest purpose in someone's life. But not without having Raquel know how much she had changed him. "Only if you see how you've changed me. I used people, until now. That was selfless, because I love you." His hand rested on her stomach, giving it a little tickle because he loved to see her smile and hear her laugh. "I've never been selfless like that before."

Richard cocked an eyebrow. He didn't know Lorey's birthday was coming up. "December 6th sadly..." He sighed. He didn't like winter, despite loving the snow. "When is yours love?" He asked, pulling her gently so her could cradle her in his lap instead of her over his back.
Raquel squirmed, a quiet yet sweet squeal emitting from her as she buried her head into the covers. She was a young girl at heart. At times like this it was obvious. She seemed to love how she go the chance to giggle and be happy and carefree where she didn't as a child...
Once she had gotten him to stop, she took her hand behind his neck, kissing him deeply before giving him another hug. "Darling... To be honest...That was probably the first time I felt anything...like... other than fear or dread or obligation..." She pushed some of his hair away from his face as she just had to touch his lovely features herself.

"September second," she said, cuddling into him a bit. "So in a week or so. We get a few months of being four years apart, right?" Lorey didn't feel so much younger than Richard. With all they'd been through, they were equals in suffering and equals in many other ways. "The way you got all excited today doesn't convince me that you're old..."
"So you're alright? I didn't hurt you or anything of the sort?" His first fear, exposed. "Because if you still are frightened in any way... I won't make you do anything."
