Caleb caught up with him, stopping with the heels of his shoes on the dime. "...You have no right to take her out of this building, if you had any wit, you would leave her be and leave while I will let you leave with your life."

The butler spat. "She's not safe with the likes of you! You carry around concealed weapons, and you are displaying traits of a psychopath! I know where she can be safe, safe form both you, that madwoman, and that knife-flinging cannibal!!" [[Basically, Ann and Azrael.]] The butler looked down at Monoé. "Don't worry, Monoé. I'll protect you form these people. It's what I was made for..." He looked around. "Ah, uh, skeleton key!" A key flew into his hands form out of nowhere, and, drawing a door in the air, the butler ran into a transdimensional door.

Caleb stood at the door that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Knowing that both Ann and Kokopelli would be angered if they came back with their child not at his home. He stepped into the portal.

The world looked perfectly normal on the other side, but everything looked like it was made of crayon doodles. The only flesh-and-blood-looking people were Monoé, her butler, and Caleb. The butler saw Caleb, and, panicking, ran away. A crayon-doodle Moé went up to the thieving butler. "Sachiel! He broke Kokopelli's miniature golden idol of Buddha!" Ann appeared as well. "Sachiel stole the candy intended for Caleb's christmas present!" Azrael appeared. "Sachiel stole the golden egg pendant form the jewelry store Monoé and Kokopelli went to!"

"You twit!" Caleb called out at this Sachiel, pointing the pair of scissors outward at him. "I will ensure you will be nothing but a simple blood smear!"

Suddenly, the scene flipped, and Sachiel was replaced by Monoé, and the world became real again. Monoé was wide awake, and turned around, fumbling in her dress pockets. When she faced Caleb she was holding a golden pen nib. "Sachiel gave it... back to me. He told me he is too scared to steal from you..." She began to back away, and, horrified for some reason, she began to run away from Caleb.

The scissors disappeared in his robes and he took the pen nib back. "Thank you." Then, she began to run. He raised one hand. "Wait!" Caleb turned, he did not see his student. He dashed into the house, knowing going after the girl would only end badly.

Monoé was hiding behind Sachiel, and she was crying into his shirt. "He can tell, he can tell! I'm a goner, Sachiel! Please, save me! Please!" She was sobbing horribly. "He's friends with Papa, he'll tell Papa everything...!" Sachiel was patting her on the head. "I would steal you away, but I got caught..." Monoé started hitting him on the back with her fists. "What a lousy scapegoat you are!" "Now, that's a bit harsh..."

Caleb entered the house. Going into the kitchen, he did not see her. He turned back around and went up the stairs and into her room.

Moé was in her room, and she and Kokopellli were looking for Monoé. Kokopellli found Caleb, and then gestured that she must be off playing with her imaginary friend again, and to not worry. He would take care of her.

Caleb sighed. "Fine....Forgive myself, I must have frightened her."

Kokopelli sighed. He gestured that everything went downhill after Monoé accidentally broke a small Buddha idol of his, and, fearing punishment or disdain, Monoé blamed it on a thief. This happened many years ago, but she has somehow managed to bring her imaginary, criminal friend to reality, and he takes the blame for her kleptomanic urges while she concentrates on becoming a farmer.

Kokopelli left, knowing where Monoé was, and Moé followed Caleb. She sat on her stool. "Must've been odd. I'm sorry you had to deal with that, sir..."

"It is nothing, the only thing I regret is frighting her like so many I have frightened in the past." Caleb replied. He fell into his chair.
