The light turrets are around autoblaster size, easily legal for civilian use. I'm almost wondering if they could be a Point Defense System since the Crusader class corvette had one.

stellarmagic The light turrets are around autoblaster size, easily legal for civilian use. I'm almost wondering if they could be a Point Defense System since the Crusader class corvette had one. According to the artist, the turrets are autonomous and feature two gattling guns, four tube launched interception missles, and two packs of short range cluster missles. I do believe they are the point defense system. I planned on ripping them out and placing quad laser cannons. on two of the empty sockets.

Oh my god, its a tank! Crix Madine be praised!
So what games you into? Pazaak? Armwrestling? Betting on droid fights? Gizka fights? We got it all down in the Belly of the Beast, cargohold of the Ruusan. Bring a weapon onboard and we'll take and keep it!

Put computer operated tractors on the remaining mounts. That way you could load or offload any containers or externally mounted starfighters on the side hardpoints without relying on tugs. You might not use the feature, but it can be real useful.
The sensor array screams Missile Boat, as I told you in a PM. Plus there are a bunch of launch ports. If you remove the launchers but keep the array and targeting system you could simply scare off small time pirates. Getting locked by a capital ship sized missile targeting system would make many pilots run.
As for armor and speed, I'd image it'd be a bit slower then a corellian CR90, but much better armored. I'd like to suggest replacing the ventral Quad with the Point Defense Laser system off a Crusader. If you got the two quads on the top, the laser on the bottom will ensure full 360-360 coverage, or pretty close to that.
Not sure what to do about the top quad, I suppose you could keep it.

It says Hunter-Killer in the name. cool @ Stellar: The license and permit fee for owning a quad turbolaser amounts to 500,000 credits.

Assuming we just get an off the rack Capital scale cannon and dont modify it, that permit is only going to cost 60,000.
As it stands I cant afford to keep her current armaments, so some drastic cuts are going to have to be made.

Yeah, the ion cannon is a good deal. Thats about what I figured. Most ion-cannons are single barreled right?

Yeah. Doubling them increases the damage by about a third in this case but at three times the base cost of the gun itself. Quad barreling it is even more expensive.
Well we may not have the guns she used to, but with our kick a** sensor and communications array, we can hear a pin drop in a vacum on the otherside of the Galaxy. cool

Maybe you can get some more credits by acting as a convoy sentry... smile
As for the Point Defense Laser, thats something rare enough there probably isn't any regulations on its installation. It's also so low powered that it doesn't do much to starfighters, it's a lot easier to blow up stuff thats supposed to explode like a warhead after all.

Or Convoy guard...I am a Mando after all. The site of this ship alone aught to be deterring.
Regardless, it costs an extra 4,000 credits to make a gun a Point defense gun.

I was thinking that was the dorsal turret.

Here's what i was thinking: Put the big gun, the Ion cannon, on the Ventral turret. That way those Ventral small turrets can be ripped out to put a tractor beam on each side to go with the docking clamps I'm putting into the hardpoint mounts. Then we place our Point defense Guns on the dorsal side. that way they can protect the bridge as well as shoot at people.
