It's 75% chance of hitting, 100% chance under the effects of Gravity.

EV's and IV's are simpler than they seem. Is there anything in particular that you don't understand that you would like me to explain?

I get that IV's are number things generated when a wild pokemon appears or u get a egg.

and I know they help out in some way >.> thats about the extent of my knowledge

I personally don't believe you should be worrying about IVs until you learn EVs.

So, let me see if can get you to understand it this way, without going into a long explanation.

When you beat a Pokemon it gives you a specific number of EVs.
Just the same, each Pokemon gives an EV that is beneficial to a specific stat. Example: Geodude gives 1 defense EV, or Tentacruel gives 2 Special Defense EVs.
So, that's how you get them.

A Pokemon can hold up to 510 EVs before they can no longer receive them.
A single stat of a Pokemon can hold up to 255, meaning you can max out up to two stats within the limit.

EV training is battling certain Pokemon to put EVs in the stats that you desire.
4EVs = 1 stat point at level 100. So in the end, it makes a huge difference in power.

Does that help?

IVs determine the pokemon's growth. IVs range from 0 to 90.
EVs enhance the pokemon's stats. A pokemon EV trained, like togekiss for example, trained in special attack will be drastically be higher than one not EV trained. But just because you EV train it doesn't mean you can get maxed out stats like that. You could have a pokemon with zero IVs and see no real growth at all. The Higher the IV, the better the growth.

Its real simple after you get it down. :I

Yes, it does, but it also ranges from 0 to 90, so there can be more differences in growth.

For instance, an Alakazam with 31 Ivs in Speed, trained with 255 EV's in speed, and a speed boosting nature will have the highest amount of speed possible for an Alakazam, which is at 372!
