:::She joined him, and began to sip at her wine, thankful to have the Captain's approval in one way or another finally:::
Captain...is everything else alright? With the Brink I mean. I mentioned to you last time that I thought things were strange.

Well I mean... all these strange new people. And there are still some others that I haven't seen in all the time I've been here. I begin to worry.
:::she sipped:::
And uhm... well, I suppose it's not about the brink, but a personal discomfort of mine...

*Tavin shakes his head*
Everyone came in for the first time at some point, Cora. It may be that the Brink isn't done finding people.

Yes... that sounds like a reasonable assumption.
:::Sipping quietly, thinking to herself. She wanted to bring it up to him, but he'd dismissed it so quickly the last time she mentioned it...though there was more pressing information at hand when the topic arose...:::
:::She looked at him from the top of the wine glass as though she wish he already know what she was thinking:::

:::Yeah, that never worked, she thought:::
Well... I've seen your son again. A few times now. :::She smirked nervously::: Heh, I remember first meeting him before I disappeared for that extended period. He thought I wasn't human...
:::The thought was a bit comical now, with how much things had changed and all...:::

:::She smiled describing him:::
He seems very well. Of course, I must assume this because I'm not entirely familiar with his particular species, but if it's any indication, he seems well adjusted and healtyh.
:::She scratched the back of her neck, fumbling the neck of the wine glass in her fingers:::

*Tavin smiled*
He hates me. He blames me for everything thats happened in his life... rightfully so, I suppose.

He hates you...?

I don't think that's what you wanted to talk to me about. Did you have something you wanted to tell me about Alex?

:::Well, it sorta felt like a strange force of topic to go from Alex hates YOU to Alex loves ME...:::
He... was the reason I asked... about whether or not I was able to visit other worlds.
:::She sipped her wine again, and she worried that her cup was getting too empty too quickly:::
He asked me to come with him.
:::She gave Tavin that look again over the glass, but this time to gauge his expression before continuing:::

Oh, well that sounds like it could be fun. I never saw his place, you'll have to let me know how it is.

I... I will!
:::She concluded, and sipped her wine again. She thought for a moment that if she approached it from a different angle, it wouldn't seem so akward:::
Captain... Tacitus and I...
:::But she stopped when she had to insert a verb. This felt just as hard to say:::
We...well, something happened. You know, I said it before when I was telling you about things. He let me think that he had died, and pretended that he was a stranger...because he wanted to make sure I was the same Cora he knew... But it made me so upset... When I found out that it wasn't true, I spent so much time trying not to care, that I... I just didn't feel the same way anymore.
:::She could already tell this wasn't exactly how she'd hoped it would be going:::
