@Serend: I don't even know what Humbug means or in what context it is said.
EDIT: @Serend: What those things have to do with Christmas? (Other than *****). They are winter activities, not Christmass's.... You can still do them after the holidays.

In California, if you want to sled or ice-skate, you have to go out and make an effort! So it only really happens because of Christmas.

"Bah, Humbug". o.o It's an expression to.. call something a joke, fraud, blah blah. :'D Scrooge used it often inside A Christmas Carol - like his catch phrase? XD In a way to call Christmas a fraud and not worth his time. :'3 "Merry Christmas!" "Bah, humbug!" would be the response. :'o Make sense?
D< Because the only place I can ice skate is during Christmas time. ;- ; And.. I only ever got mah sleds on Christmas when I could still use them, so sledding is a Christmas activity for me~ XD

@Loli and Serend: You don't have like, an arena, skate ring or something? Here you got those indoor place with ice so you can skate/play hockey/Whatever during the summer.

In some places? I only know of one ice rink near my house back home, and it was always PACKED. And really expensive. Unpleasant. Then again, I hate ice skating, soo... >________>
But people usually only go to those for special events, like birthdays or something. At least, that's the case here. There are private rinks for ice skaters and hockey players, though, but you have to pay a lot of money for membership, and you have to be taking lessons or competing.
Besides, why ice skate when roller skating is easier and cheaper? 8D

There's a bunch of those over here and it cost... 5$ I think. Last time I checked, at least. The big rings outside in the winter are free though.
