"I could help you with presents," Michael offered. He had that skill of just knowing things. In fact, he could probably help Toby too. He still didn't seem sure of it all, though. "Are you certain? Some days I lose control and might not be the most fun to be around."

"Really? We could go shopping together," Maia offered, and smiled at him. "I'm awful at it. I never know what to get anyone." She paused at his question and reached out for his hand. She didn't take it, she didn't know if he was tangible.
"We all have bad days," she said. "We want you to come."

Michael looked at Maia's hand entire stone-faced, then reached out for it, took it softly, and smiled as he looked her in the eyes. That same warmth she had felt during their last little trip emerged again, but this time it was external.
"Of course I'll come, if you'll still have me." They had some days left yet to Christmas.

Maia gave Michael's hand a squeeze and smiled. That warmth was there again--Michael was happy! She'd come to recognize it. "Of course we will," she assured him. "We can play in the snow. There's a parade, too..." But that might overwhelm the ghost. Maia wasn't sure how he'd like the crowd.
"What would you like to do most?" She asked.

"A parade?" he asked. The last parade he had seen had been well before his death, and it had been before this modern area of robotics and pop music. That might be interesting, and if it was too much he could just as easily shut it all off and hide, not that he thought that it might be too much. "I don't mind. Whatever you all do will be enough for me. It's been a long time since I've even observed Christmas."
Ah, but he had been a child once, hadn't he? He smiled softly at the memory, his eyes cast slightly up. He barely remembered it, but it was warm and sweet.

"With floats and things. We could go," she offered, and smiled at him. Had he ever been to one? He seemed interested. "I was thinking we could all make Christmas cookies together. But I don't know what else. We can ask Toby." It'd been a long time--of course it had been.
Maia smiled somewhat sadly as she watched him. "We'll have the best Christmas ever," she promised.

Michael's smile grew broader. The parade and the cookies, he would love to do both. He would be content to just be in a different place and not working for a while.
"I would like that very much," he said.

Lori let his head thump against the pillow. Another work week done. This one had been pretty taxing. It was always upsetting when every single lead they had came up false, and even more annoying when they made it through more than one idiot to get to him. He had a couple of days off now, though. Next week was a new week.
He sighed and turned to look at Luca, and smiled. Luca had been a bit out-of-sorts lately, he thought.
"Hey," he said, voice soft. He was still smiling.

Luca looked over to Lori. He scooted over slightly and wrapped an arm around him. He'd missed him today. "Hey love," he said, and pulled away to smile at him. "How was work?" If it'd gone as badly as the rest of the week, probably not good.
"You look tired," he observed. "Is that intern still giving you trouble?"

Lori's smile turned to a grin. He hadn't thought that his one-word greeting would cause a whole avalanche of questions. He'd been home a while, after all. He ignored them, though, and stroked Luca's hair.
"What do you say we spend the day out tomorrow?"

Luca considered Lori's question. He started to smile, concern fading from his expression. "I'd like that," he said. It'd been a while since they'd done something, just the two of them. It'd be nice!

"What do you want to do? We could go shopping in the city, maybe. See a movie? Get fancy dinner?" That was just his proposal. He was pretty easy to get to do anything on his days off, save work.

"We could go shopping," Luca agreed, and then considered Lori's thoughts. He smiled. "We could go for a drive," he suggested. "I'll be happy whatever we do," he said. As long as he was with Lori. "What would you like for dinner?" He asked.

Lori rolled over a bit to face Luca and propped his elbow on the bed and his cheek on his hand.
"I don't know. Whatever catches out eye. Some place new."

"Some place new," Luca echoed and gave Lori a smile. "Sounds good!" He leaned over a little and planted a kiss on Lori's cheek. "I'm looking forward to spending the day with you."
