Although it seems FL accepting so many immigrants and transplants from various places has caused a bit of a cultural identity crisis that makes him politically almost impossible to govern... At least according to the book I read regarding various issues in Florida. I think once FL's growth rate settles down it should even out, though, as people settle in. I'm sure eventually his communities will start to merge together into something distinctly Floridian. *optimistic*

I sort of would eventually like to have something in the RP about the legend of the Fountain of Youth that's rumored to be in Florida. I don't know what or how but... that's some cool fantasy stuff to think about! That and I just watched the latest Pirates of the Caribbean so I'm all over the idea of FL fighting pirates and trying to keep the location of the fountain a secret or something exciting like that. emotion_kirakira

(VA actually sent PA to capture Black Beard because Black Beard was working with another pirate living on one of NC's islands but failed so VA came and finished him off, then later claimed it was under Britain's orders for killing him. NC basically treats Black Beard like hero. And to some degree, still do. He wasn't the worst pirate but he was certainly well known. In Bath, NC people like to claim that you can see his ghost. Which I've also heard that SC makes a claim too.)

The Fountain of Youth thing could be a silly pirate adventure. Like... maybe something happens to trigger everyone's pirate instincts? FL not only supposedly has the Fountain, but he also has a HELL OF A LOT of sunken pirate treasure around his home! I almost kind of envision it at this point like a traumatic game of tag or them trying to catch FL to get him to spill the beans on where he keeps all that booty. xd
