Wally_West Geoff Johns is officially a sore spot with me again. If I'm asked ONE MORE TIME why I don't like his past writing, I'm going to start stabbing. mad Wally, it's okay. I'm a Green Lantern fan. I know exactly how you feel. The fact that it's a sore spot is well-merited. crying

That has got to be the UGLIEST costume I've ever seen for a speedster, and that includes EVERY abortion John Fox ever wore.

Wally_West That has got to be the UGLIEST costume I've ever seen for a speedster, and that includes EVERY abortion John Fox ever wore. He was never a speedster. His power was bouncing around with a kinetic field that could also be directed offensively. Now he just creates an energy field and blows up. The whole point of the costume is to cause him pain. Hurts me just lookin' at it. It was never more painfully clear how much Joey Q HATES Speedball.

. . . . ah ha. And this is a Marvel character. *Blinks* Wow. Just . . . . I feel sorry for whoever it was who created Speedball to begin with. I know I'd be embarrassed. Especially since he always struck me as the really happy-go-lucky sort.

Kinetic energy is energy of motion, and his name is Speedball, so I always assumed he moved fast.
And he still looks stupid.

How does the costume hurt him if the spikes are pointing OUTSIDE?

Wally_West How does the costume hurt him if the spikes are pointing OUTSIDE? It inspires his enemies to laugh their asses off at huim, thereby wounding his inner child?

******** if I know, maybe he stabs himself with them.
And he WAS the happy go lucky sort. I'm seeing a distinct trend that says "happy go lucky" is ripe for tranfmation to "angsty go sucky."

He's too padded up for those pithy little spikes to make it through the rest of his costume for the stabbyness. Whoever designed this thing wasn't really thinking.
God, I'm tired of comics depressing me. No wonder most of the stuff I buy is backissues and trades right now. neutral

The pads/armor are to make sure he doesn't hit anything vital and thus kill himself. ...I'll bet there's a story where he becomes a cutter and everyone is surprised.

Wally_West And what's with the big dryer-vent nipples on that thing?! Embarassing side effect to new expression of powers. They need extra ventialation. He doesn't like to talk about it.
