I've never been to a con and don't plan on going. The seem to be expensive ways to waste time. What is there to do? Watch anime?

Well, you meet cool people (and not just voice actors either), and you can go to the different panels to learn stuff. The dealers room is always a cool place to go, and so is the artists alley. There is a lot of just wandering around talking to people in my case, looking at people's costumes and getting cosplay ideas. I like to take pictures too, and people sometimes want pictures of my costume as well. I like the whole cosplay aspect of the convention almost as much as the actual convention idea.

But your art is so pretty! I'd buy some thing from your booth... Actually my friends and I have discussed doing the same thing. I don't know if I like any of my stuff well enough o make prints though....I need to learn to color things better, since colored pencils don't have an overall pretty effect.

Karasu is the only one I know that even lives in california but I don't think she'd travel all the way for it.
Everyone else is an easterner.

I haven't been to any conventions, though I would extremely love to, wasting money on junk and cosplaying seems ever so fun. Atlanta has two major conventions, Dragon*con and Anime Weekend Atlanta. My brother's gone to Dragon*con once and brought me back a most loverly keychain! I really wanna go to one

I love con merchandise, especially the anime buttons. I'm covering my straps on my bags with them, then maybe I will collage the actual bags themselves. Yay for buttons^^
