A hand would silently move to his shoulder from behind. It wasnt an attack, it wasnt even aggressive, the limb simply rested on his shoulder accompanied with a warm, wise sounding voice.
Its not worth it friend.
The hand was covered in a black leather glove and covered in bandage from fingers up, the white material vanishing into his rolled up sleeves. Maximos wore his usual gray pinstripe vest with a black dress shirt beneath. A pair of thick black rimmed glasses adorned his face, and his spiked navy blue hair blew gently in the desert wind. His sleeves were raised simply do to the fact he was working at the moment, he had ordered these spices, herbs, and meats unfortunately that did not involve a pick up crew.
If Damion turned around he would see a box resting under Maximos' left arm, about 3ft around. His left arm was not bandaged, but adorned in a black tribal-esque runic tattoo. Again, if Damion turned around, Maximos would set the box down in order to offer a hand shake.

A giant moved behind Maximos, at least 8 feet tall, his long blond hair pulled back into a ponytail. A bushy beard covered the bottom half of his face, his azure eyes covered by what appeared to be a very beaten and worn designer pair of glasses.
He wore simple clothes - a pair of black slacks and a black tank-top covered by an open white shirt. He looked like he could take on a tank and eat it for breakfast - a complete contrast to Maximos, who was small and almost frail, this giant was huge, bulging muscles tiered all over his body. His left arm was a metallic prosthesis, the metal glinting in the sunlight.
He carried with him two crates, both of them looking fairly hefty, the right marked 'Meat' upside down perched precariously on his right shoulder whilst the other marked 'Herbal' was wedged between his metal arm and his torso. He carried them with little effort, and as he walked up to Maximos he kicked out with his boot, knocking the tip of it gently against Maxi's heel.
"Oi, where?" He asked gruffly, grunting as he shifted the crate marked 'Meat' up against his shoulder again, trying to distribute the weight a little better so it didn't feel like his head was about to fall off his shoulders.

Damion turned around slowly, smiling sheepishly and nodding, his attention not yet turning to the giant behind Maximos. " Yeah, I know, but it helps to yell sometimes. And yeah, my first time here....on....the...mainland..." He began, not seeing the extended hand, is eyes focused solely on the metal armed giant, jaw dropping nearly to the ground as his swords fell from his hands to clang against the ground." Oh damn..." He mumbled out, gulping slightly before attempting to hide using Maximos as a shield, cowering slightly. " Friend of yours?" He asked when he realised that both men had been carrying boxes, and maybe hiding was abit foolish in this situation. Damion finally noticed the extended hand about that point, shaking it with another sheepish smile. " Sorry, guess I'm bein' abit of a chicken. Names Damion Hedley, nice to meet'cha." His eyes continuously flicked from Maximos to the Giant behind him, still alittle nervous around someone so much....larger than he was.

Welcome!
Maximos immediately responded to the knowledge that Damion was new. He was always very warm and friendly, and just about missed Damion using him as a shield as he turned over shoulder and said.
Right next to that one. Thanks.
He pointed at a box marked "Spices". One of the larger boxes in the mix. Walter never liked bland food. Yet, not wanting to be rude Maximos immediately looked back, meeting Damion's gaze with a smile. The young man might notice that Maximos' eyes were as they should be. His right eye was a blank white, while his right was a very dark color, perhaps black.
Maximos could see the hints of fear and uncertainty on the man, they were almost nostalgic. It was only a few years ago now that Maximos was just as new. All the men here were working on his rather large order, but, this one stood out in particular. He gave the man a stern, strong handshake, tacking on an introduction and a bright smile.
Maximos. A pleasure Mr. Hedley.
Once his hand was free, he'd turn on his heel gesturing to the giant and waving him over.
Tomm, come here, I want you to meet Damion.
He would turn back with another re-assuring smile.
Where do you hail from?

" Damion, please, I hate Mister.....far too formal." Damion said, shaking his head and grinning, his fear of the giant eclipsed for the moment by his jovial nature and his desire for informality. " Just a little island off the coast a ways, we're a small village." He said with a shrug," I don't think it has a name as far as we were concerened." Damion nearly bolted when Maximos called Tomm over, his legs twitching and his body lurching backwards, right hand shooting to his left sword hilt and his left hand reaching for his shield, eyes going wide. When he realized what he was doing, that same sheepish smile crossed his face, his right hand extending towards Tomm as the look of awe that had possessed him on his first viewing of the city returned," You are very large." Damion stated, feeling like a little kid again, despite the fact that Maximos was standing infront of him aswell.

Donner walked over to the pile of crates and gingerly plonked the one's he'd been carrying onto it, dusting his hands off as he walked back to the two men.
He smiled down to the young man, the smile warm. He was used to people being used to his size...it's rare to find a man who is awestruck of him these days.
"Eat enough red meat and you'll get this big, eventually." Donner replied with a grin, engulfing Damion's hand in his own, the palm warm, the grip tight but surprisingly unpainful. "John Tomorrow. Planning to check out the continent, hmm?"

Damion it is.
Maximos said with a nod, as Tomorrow moved in for his introduction. He took note of the mention of a small isle, but if Damion didnt make a deal of it he wouldnt. He did however snicker at Tomorrow's comment, feeling the need to chip.
And being a Thunder God has, absolutely nothing to do with it. Right?
He was clearly joking when he said it as made evident by his smirk, and small chuckle. He was about to ask the man what his plans were on the mainland, but Tomm entirely beat him to it, so after passing off his box to another individual he took to smiling and waiting for an answer.

Donner glared at his smaller brother. Two could play at this game.
"Is it the black eye, or the white eye, that sees a person's soul and helps you choose whether to 'help' them to the other side?"
He lifted his big hands and twitched his index and pointy fingers when he said 'help', widening his eyes as well. He also had a big grin stapled on his face, as if to say 'hey stupid, when a guy looks like he's about to s**t himself due to my size, perhaps you should keep the 'Thunder God' stuff to yourself, kay?'

" You could say that, more like a fleeing of a rather boring lifestyle for one that brings on a whole lot of new experiences." He said with a wide grin when his hand wasn't crushed in Tomorrow's grip. " Thunder God?" He asked, sounding more confused than fearful, They were really starting to lose him, especially when the eye comment was made, until he looked at Maximos again and finally noticed how his eyes were different colors." Oh....hey that's awesome! How did you do that?" He asked, his excitement clear as he leaned alittle closer to Maximos, looking from one eye to the other and somehow not going crosseyed with that kind of fucusing. All shreds of fear seemed to have left the young man, now that he was on somewhat familiar territory, IE making friends. " So.....do you guys know where I can find some work by any chance? I'm kinda broke." Damion said, settling back alittle and holding up an empty money pouch he took from his belt. " I blew it all on the trip over."

The right.
He said, with a stout nod. His words may have sounded agreeable, but his tone said "Touche". Maximos was always one for secret, clandestine, type things but that eye was rather extremely obvious.
It was a gift, from my employer.
Maximos said to Damion with a smile. The less the man knew about the Reapers the better, and since nothing was known about them, Maximos just sort of chuckled while leaning back a bit. He had a bit of a "thing" with being touched.
As a new topic poked its brilliant head out of the blue, he snatched it.
A man who likes to earn his keep. I respect that.
Damion could have just as easily asked for charity, or begged without any honor at all. As such, Maximos honored his wishes.
Here!
He gestured to the crates, boxes, cartons, and such covering the airship dock. And over to the large runic ring the majority of the boxes were being carried to and set down in.
If you'd like to help move some of these supplies into the circle, I'm sure you'll be more than adequately compensated.
Would Maximos mention that they were working for him? No. He didnt want to be thought of that way. Tomorrow earlier may have asked where to place a box but that made Maximos a supervisor at the least. He really never liked being thought of as anything too grand.

" Living in a small village kind of forces you into that kind of personality." He said, his smile nearly taking in his ears as he walked over to the boxes," So just take them over there right?" Damion asked, grabbing two of the boxes as best he could, balancing one on his head and crouching to grab another box, somehow keeping thhe one balanced upon his head without much effort. "And don't worry 'bout 'fair' compensation.....some food is all I really need." He said, not knowing the falsehood of his statement. His village had no need for money half the time, so most of the 'compensation' he got came in the form of food or something. " So....where are you guys from huh?" He asked, aiming the question at both of them, though most of his attention seemed focused on Tomorrow, who still fascinated him, the metal arm being abit of a wonder to the admittedly rural Damion.

Indeed.
He said, nodding in agreement.
Just keep those marked similarly close together, Walter will do the rest of the sorting.
The man sounded so very much like himself. When Maximos first arrived he needed no money, just a meal here and there. A coffee with Lucind, a little cake. Life was so simple, he was a native islander himself...but that was so many years ago.
Dont worry Damion, you'll get that too. Tomorrow here can attest to the fact Walter is quite the cook, and if all goes well we'll be done here just in time for dinner.
He would need some spending money, but he wouldnt force the man out of naiveté just yet, simply supply him with what he needed not to let it hurt him. At least until life eased it away. He heard Hedley's line of questioning but decided to let Tomorrow answer first, something told him the Aesir's response would be far more interesting.
He returned to the disheveled pile of boxes and palete's, dragging one of the larger yet lighter boxes over to the circle with relative ease.

"Maybe if somebody grabbed something over a kilo we'd get more of this done quicker..." Donner grumbled under his breath as he knelt down besides Damion to put his arms around a large, wide crate, lifting it effortlessly and hefting it up in his arms to places them underneath the box. Remember kids, when lifting things in boxes or crates, make sure to keep your arms under it in case the a**-end of it falls open, kay?
"I'm a man of the world, my son." Donner said down to the smaller man. "I hail from a Tribe of my own, but they were nomadic - moving from place to place. Even now I'm on the move - i never really stay in one place for very long."
Usually because he caused more trouble then he stopped...but then, the smaller man didn't need to know that, did he?
"And as for Walter..." He continued, placing the crate down atop the pile before turning to grab another. "...I'd have to say he's the God of cooking. He can make a plate of sand desirable. Seriously."

" Perfect!" Damion said, his voice actually able to show just how excited he was at the prospect, but then again he seemed a very expressive person to begin with. He walked along slowly, head making minute changes to keep the box up the balanced and not falling off. He gently sett he boxes in his arms down before taking the last off his head and looking up at Tomorrow," You mean there's more of you? I can't beleive there's enough land to keep you all...." He speculated, peering skyward for aminute before shaking his head and looking at them rather seriously," Hey, I have a question for the both of you. Isn't a desert supposed to be scorching? What's with the cool breezes I've been getting from inland?" Damion asked, cocking an eyebrow as he turned to face them again, flipping one hand out towards the city proper," It didn't make much sense to me, but I figured maybe there was something about deserts I didn't know. I mean...this is my first time on the mainland."

Maximos just sort of laughed. Yes the idea of more than one Tomorrow was a scary scary thought. The world just would simply not be able to handle such a thing. But he would leave Tomorrow to explain the details of his "tribe".
He stepped in to address the man's second question, while shoving another large crate across the dock.
Actually your quite astute.
The air was a bit cool, if not a bit nippy.
The climate has been somewhat off recently due to some superhuman activity.
He gave the box a final big shove sending it sliding into place between a few of the other large crates.
More directly, in a monumental display an ice demon covered the desert in snow and ice. Its taken roughly a year to thaw.
