"Damn it!"

Lazenca's pain was shown in the way of his scream/snarl, and the left-handed uppercut/hook (depending on wether or not Unsane lingered for an uppercut, or moved for a hook) that was offered as soon as he was able to focus on doing such an action.

"What do you want?!"

Just because he wasn't using his left hand, didn't mean he couldn't. Lazenca moved back a couple of steps from Unsane, his pants sporting bloody holes. His left hand hooked the pocket again.

The hook threw Unsane back, ripping out the makeshift daggers from Lazenca's legs, slightly to the side. He rolled up on the sand, kicking up dust into his trail, dirtying his once-white shirt and sending sand in the most uncomfortable of places. Before long though, the demon turned the slide into a roll and returned to his knees, palms to the ground.

"I want you to realize that I'm trying to kill you." He answered calmly, grinning as he rubbed his sore cheek, "and then I want you to react accordingly so that you don't die, and realize what you're capable of."

The cold air surrounding Unsane made the hot sand sizzle and steam from condensation, and he was just getting "warmed up".

Was that it? "I'm here to kill you" was it? Lazenca stood for a couple of seconds, eyes on Unsane as the bleeding in his legs stopped, and he noted the drop in temperature. In response, Laz began to Negative Gain the hell out of Unsane. The demon could be cold and start cooling down the area, but there was a sort of indirect connection being forced. Lazenca was eating Unsane's cold. The longer it went on, the colder it got around Lazenca.

Of course, Unsane was likely to do the same, preventing the consumption of the cold aura he was putting on and eating it right back. Such an action would create an ever multiplying loop of energy. In short, the ground wasn't sizzling and steaming. From their positions, the ground started to freeze outward, crackling and gaining a layer of frost.

With his right arm crossing his chest without actually touching, with the left thumb hooked against the pocket, he advanced.

Eventually, it wasn't two popsicles under the sun anymore. The whole area would be as if night had suddenly settled on that one part of the desert. To some, it might feel like the whole thing was pointless. Unsane was pumping and pumping, the temperature going down at an alarming rate over a larger area, the sand hardening and literaly frosting over. Meanwhile, Lazenca was siphoning it and making it all his own, only for Unsane to take advantage of it all the more, cold being his natural element.

"Getting comfy in here." He murred, before dashing. Every step he took brought out a small plaque of ice on the ground. His body was crouching low and both his hands were close to the sand, as if he'd start running on all four any second now, like a tiger about to pounce, and pounce he did.

Once close to Lazenca, he jumped up, bringing his legs in front of him to ram them into Laz's chest.

He saw Unsane's running position... it was a run Lazenca did himself at times. He suspected a pounce, but not that had the legs forward. He had prepared himself to knock Unsane out of the sky by mimicking.. one hand at his waist, the left arm hanging loose. Maybe a massive clotheline or something.

Well... it wasn't happening, so Lazenca could only think fast enough to put up a thin barrier of ice while skidding to a stop and bringing his right arm up over his face, tucking and bracing. The last-minute protection shattered, and served to lessen the impact just a bit. He stumbled back about three huge steps and caught himself with a short hop, but he didn't fall.

What he did, was lower himself to all fours. If Unsane wanted to meet him like a tiger, then Lazenca would meet him like a wolf. Unsane had enough time to get up and see Lazenca doing a four-point dash to the demon. Short of a physical sort of barrier that kept him from advancing, the run would continue and Lazenca would seem to flip over Unsane only to catch the neck with his feet and flip him over... Locomotive Frankensteiner.

If succesful, Laz would be face up and Unsane's face would meet the hardened ground. Upon landing, Laz would release the hold and roll to the right, ending in a squat.

Unsane bounced off the ice barrier as it shattered. Funnily enough, the shards of ice didn't fall to the ground, but stayed right there in the air as Unsane dropped to his feet. In fact, not only did they stay there, but they thickened and spun onto themselves, faster and faster, controlled by the ice demon.

Once Lazenca went for an attack, Unsane was ready for him. The ice lowered fast before sharply turning and shooting straight at Lazenca. The shards were all too blunt and fragile to impale everything, but they were still alike to a Major League pitcher's dirty shot, and about to meet the wolfman head-on.

Indeed, that would be enough of a physical barrier to deter him. It was wierd to have ice just stay there in air, especially when he wasn't controlling it. So something was happening, something that was going to hurt. Rather than try to outrun the shards or counter-control to make them hang in air, he performed a check... a feint that had Lazenca moving to the right, then back to the left in the hopes of having the shards miss. His right hand dragged against the ground as he feinted, keeping balance while cutting.

If he couldn't shake them, then he had no choice but to turn his head to to the side and throw up his right arm, catching shards against the bracer. The rest, right past it in the back of the hand or the arm. However, he was betting that some ice shards would feel like relatively little compared to getting forcefully flipped and face-slammed. Take a hit to give a bigger hit.

Unsane took a step back as he let go of the ice chunks, getting ready to meet Lazenca. His opponent was coming at him on all four, and the elemental snickered inwardly as he compared him to a poodle hell-bent on biting off his ankle. Imagine his surprised when the poodle flipped over, and Lazenca's legs landed on Unsane's shoulder to catch his neck.

As hard as he could try to stay on his feet, the elemental could only curse his light weight as he left the sand arcing for what seemed like ages in the air before going for a rough landing. Unsane brought his hands up in front of his cheek, landing hard upon them, the frozen sand scraping at his skin. The rest of his body followed the same fate, although somewhat softer, and Unsane was on his elbows and knees at Lazenca's feet.

"Ow ..." Getting back up was the hardest part.

At his feet for seconds because Lazenca had immediately released and rolled to his own right, just as planned. He had no reason to do more than one roll, since his opponent was downed and apparently stunned.

The two feet of space was quickly cleared by a lunge that had Lazenca dropping a mighty knee on Unsane's lower back, left hand covering Unsane's left elbow to pin the arm down and otherwise control it. The right hand opened, and the claws came down in a a hooking swipe at the side/back of the elemental's head.

No sooner than when Lazenca started moving again, Unsane rolled away from him. Not only that, but he also prepared a little something to meet whatever was coming at him. From the floor sprouted jagged chunks of ice. Large, sturdy pieces jutting in every direction, their edges dangerously sharp. Whatever Lazenca had in mind before seeing those, Unsane knew he'd have the time to get back on his feet while he was dealing with the ice.

Already, the surrounding cold was soothing his sore body. The scrapes would take longer to close, but he wasn't bothered with the blood. In fact, the demon would probably need it anyway ...

Well, there wouldn't be pouncing, what with stalactites [check that] coming out of the ground, right where he was and was trying to go. rather than go forwards, Lazenca went backwards while changing the influence of RNG from Poppy to the ice formation, melting them away at a rapid pace.

And thusly did he advance, remembering just how much of an ice user Unsane was, and being sure to be wary of things coming out from the ground. On fours again, but a bit slowly as he thought. If Unsane was going to keep maging the ice like this... what could he do to get closer?

Only two steps into the advance, he stopped and stared at Unsane with a rather flat, disgusted, even disinterested look.

The crackle of sand and the winds picking up with the temperature shift... the animals scurrying for ignorance of what to do in the cold, their feet moving as gently as sleigh bells...

"Eh." Unsane lazily got back to his foot, making a face half-way between a pout and a grimace. "You look so bored about it all. Don't you find it any more exciting than that? Someone's gonna die today!"

Out of his pockets, Unsane pulled out two objects uncannily similar to golf balls in size and color, only completely flat in their roundness. With one in each hand, the demon dashed again. The melting literally parted aside before him, like water for Moses, before shattering to pieces. Unsane stopped right in front of Lazenca to raise his left foot for a side kick, always grinning.

So... it was agreed that there was a LOT of power being looped and spinning out in the area, FREEZING a desert as time went on, right? So... it shouldn't be too suprising when Lazenca did what he did, that he was able to use such a high-energy Tech so early in the game.

Unsane ran forward into Lazenca, only to be Glared right back where he came from. Running was the right thing to do... just not right to Lazenca. Throwing things would have been better. However, Unsane cleared the distance and walkedran into a trap. Maybe the demon could see the ice formation blink into existance, and would probably think well enough to start nulling it, absorbing the ice. However, the point was never to be a projectile or something... when it exploded, it was pure BOOM energy and force. The added effects of ice in the skin/face were unlikely to happen with Unsane, but it'd still hurt, like he was looking down the barrel of a shotgun.

Hit or miss (though a hit was likely since to date, there hasn't been a person able to dodge or block a Glare), Lazenca ran forward. Combo time.

Ice in his face. Unsane had the time to record that much, and it pissed him off more than a little. The elemental had the ability to simply walk through ice that he controlled as it if was air, and thus, he brought up his left hand to quicken the process.

Only, the ice decided to blow up in his face.

The reaction was more of a reflex than an actual idea. The raised palm was clenched hard upon the little golf ball it had been holding, making its surface crack in an instant, then blow up. It was as if a second glare had erupted in Unsane's hand, blizzard shooting out of the broken ball. Lacking the concentration to direct the explosion forward as he usually did, the demon was thrown back by the strength of the burst, skidding on both feet and a hand. Gritting his teeth, he waited for Lazenca to come out of the snow and ice cloud, ready to counterattack.

The lingering ice and snow and sparkles emerged on Unsane's position, Lazenca's mind making it all rush forward and harden to smack him in the upper body.. chest maybe, bonus points for another face shot. The wall was harder since Lazenca had the time to register that midair blast and such, so wouldn't break until he got there, until his right fist went through it.

The sound and sight of ice shattering... was it a metaphor for the rocking that Unsane's nose just took?

3-hit...
