Turning towards the shrill scream, Raine faced the sound of slaughter, withdrawing her own weapon from the sheath at her hip, the councilwoman's brows knitted into a concerned, angry expression. The cold, heartless laugh was easily recognizable.. Not only did it frighten her, she felt defeated.
Her arm sunk, the tip of her weapon hit the ground making a sharp sound of collision. She was stunned; completely surprised that she was wrong. How could her instincts be wrong? About him? Her chest hurt, as if her heart was retracting to prevent itself from being broken.
Raine stood there, her feet rooted to the spot she was in. It couln't have been him. It must have been Durimiros. They could shift, play with one's mind, could they not? Durithill wouldn't just up and leave like that, would he? He had no reason to...
Did he?

Durithill was about to strike down another person when he heard Raine's sword hit the ground. He stopped in mid-stike and turned to look at her. His expression turned to one of surprise. "Raine!" he said, lowering his sword. "It.. it's not what it looks like!" he said, looking around at the bodies. "Who am I kidding?" he said with a sigh. "Raine, this is who I am. I can't change it. I'm a demon, Raine. Killing people is fun for me, no matter how much I pretend it isn't."

"No... You don't..." She began, seeming relieved that she was recognized by whom she believed to be Durithill. Though she left herself apparently unarmed with her weapon resting on the ground, Raine rose her hands defensively infront of her chest.
"No, it's not fun.." She said again in calm voice, advancing towards the man. But she did not feel the same.. Aura emmiting from the man infront of her, nor did she feel safe like she usually did around Durithill... No, it could not be him... Not at all..
"Please.. Stop.."

"Durithill" laughed and sheathed his sword. "Well, I can tell you've got me. Doesn't matter." he said, his appearance changing to Durimiros'. His voice changing as well. "I thought I might try to break you as well, but I guess you're too close to my son to be tricked like that again. Ah well, you're going to have a war on your hands soon anyway." Durimiros said, laughing as he placed his hand on the hilt of the katana at his waist. "You can't stop it, no matter how hard you try. You want to know why? 'Cause you can't please the angels by bringing me in, silly girl."

Figures... For a moment she doubted her own thoughts. Of course it wasn't Durithill, an of course Rathios' calculations were incorrect. Your senses mean nothing when one man can shift. Clearly he set his son up.
"I knew those reports were wrong.." She mumbled lowly, lowering her raised hands, as if letting her guard down against the relentless man who stood feet infront of her. Tricked again. Yeah, Raine was a quick learner alright and she was taught the hard way.
"What is the point of this?!" She bellowed, her brows knitted into an angry expression, obviously displeased with Durimiros and what his intentions are. What point was there to kill endlessly? How could there be any fun in that after this many years? No matter how violent he or even his son was years ago, Shiero was afraid of either one of them.
With quick footsteps, Raine approached the man, her hand raised and her index finger outstretched. As she reached him, the council woman poked the center of his chest and stood on her toes to move closer to his face, as if to get her point across a little bit better.
"Explain to me..." She began, her voice low and steady, she was clearly holding back whatever anger she held at the moment.
"Explain exactly why you are against your son when he has done nothing wrong to begin with. What is the point of a war and why are you so keen on eliminating a race.. Or both for that matter! What will be left, what would there be fore you to... Enjoy!?"

Durimiros laughed. His aura alone seemed to bite at Raine's finger. "You don't know, do you?" he said, begining to circle around her. "You don't know what your kind has done? What Durithill's kind has done?" He laughed again and stared directly into her eyes with his demonic red eyes. "The history of your kind is afloat in a ocean of blood." he said slowly, relishing every bit of this. He continued to circle Raine. "Oh, I don't mean the demons. I mean the angels." He said, emphasizing the word.

As Durimiros slipped from her demanding finger and began to circle her in that formal preditor-like fashion, two weapons began to form within her grasp. Mythril blades, each the same length and weight. Raine's threatenless eyes watching him carefully, scrutinizing his every move. She gripped her weapons tightly, causing her knuckles ot turn white.
"Shadow cannot exist without light.." She replied to his final comment, feeling a familiar dorment pain above her shoulderblades. Heh.. "Your kind".
Her kind? She was not always just this...
"My kind?" She announced her thoughts, a smug grin replaced the disgusted frown that distorted her features. Her long, whispy bangs were swept across her forehead, the shadow created the top half of her face, hiding her eyes and the wordless response they held.
"Do you have any idea? ...Do you even know?!" She hissed, obviously angry with his comment about what her kind did. What Durithill's kind did... Durithill? He was half, was he not?

Durimiros laughed. He laughed at Raine's blades. He laughed at Raine's ignorance. But most of all, he laughed because he knew he was going to enjoy this a lot. "Of course I do, silly girl. After all, I lived through it." he said, continuing to circle her. "No doubt you're familiar with what happened to my family after the Kamtaka war?" he asked.

Raine growlled, unwillingly answering his questions. She was angry, no, pissed was more like it, and she was stubborn when she was "pissed".
"What about it?" She hissed, remaining in the same spot as he continued to circle around her, her body unmoving. Though her back would be at the man at specific times, she was fully guarded and fully aware of his position.

Durimiros grinned and stared at her as he continued walking around her. He took his hand off his sword and crossed his arms. "No doubt you were given that whole thing about my family warring with itself." he said, making a dismissive gesture with his hand. "And how we destroyed five realms during the fighting?"

"What are you trying to do?" She asked bluntly, her eyes locked on a particular point ahead of her.
"Do you really think I will believe our story over whet I've been told by Durithill? Think again." Raine growled, her hand sstill firmly on her weapons defensively. He irritated her greatly.
"To change the topic, I don't really understand why you hate your son.." She began before shifting her eyes towards the demon.
"Or to add to that, why you have a son to begin with."

Durimiros chuckled. "Durithill knows that story is false." he said, stopping in front of Raine to watch her out of the corner of her eye. "He doesn't know exactly what happened, but he know that that isn't it. I can tell you the real story, if you wish." he said, then moved on to Raine's next issue. "As for my son, I really don't hate him. He hates me." Durimiros said. "I think of him as a rival. He's exactly the son I wanted, except that he's not helping me."

"What good is there in lying? The woman asked, referring to the issue dealing with the story. Not a word that came from Durimiros's lips was believed, and even if any of it was true, she refused to believe it.
"Do as you wish, your words will not change my opinion either way." Raine mumbled, watching him carefully, her eyes fully on him until he decided to move again.
"He has a reason to.. Why would he help you?" She asked with a sarcastic, arched brow. Just because Duirimiros was his father, it gave him no reason to side with him... His doings were wrong and obviouslt Durithill could depict that.

"Well then, I guess I'll let Durithill tell you the truth." Durimiros said, grinning slightly. "Go ahead. Ask him. Even if you don't believe it from me, you'll believe it from him." Durimiros turned to look up at where the moon would be if it wasn't day. "It may also be hard for you to believe, but if I hadn't left him, he would be helping me. Why? Because he'd want to. But fate decided it should be, I guess." he said with a slight wave. "Anyway, I said what I wanted to. Having fun with your war, council woman." he said, turning and begining to walk away from her. "You know, you really wasted your chance. I actually felt like answering your truthfully today. Why you might ask? Because it'd be in my favor." he said with a laugh.

Everything his father said was a lie, and like mentioned before, even if it wasn't she would treat it like one. Her hands didn't relax one bit as he turned and began to walk away from her.. It was an odd feeling, knowing that an opponent of hers was walking away unharmed, but her strength alone would't have been enough to inflict a single scratch. Raine, however was not really known for her strength as Durithill and Durimiros were, rather she was known for intelligence.
"Leave..!" She shouted,
"--and never return."
Strength.. It was an even match she would say.. But compairing to the strength of the heart, Durimiros' was stone cold, slammed shut by cruelty and locked away by darkness, where Durithill however, was much different. Even when it came down to killing a woman, Shiero was not only a witness, but a victim.
Raising her hand to her face, Raine slid her fingers to a particular spot beneath her eye where two paralell lines were no longer skin, but scar tissue and slighty raised..
