We have a new Deputy Head and Prefect here in Ravenclaw!
Please congratulate miss_fawcett and GeorgesPrincess for becoming our new DH and Prefect.

Miranda has a huge smile on her face. "Thanks, guys!" She takes the parcel from Lonnie, opening it. She holds the book and says, "Yes! Thank you so much, Lonnie!" Miranda goes to her trunk and sees the present from Mikki and opens it, "Thanks, Mikki!" Miranda hears about the new Deputy Head of House and Prefect. She does a loud clap and says "Congradulations!"

Carrigan sat up a little just as Miranda began to apologize profusely. In his surprise, he flopped back down onto the mattress and lay there, looking nonplussed. "It's fine!" he said after a moment of flailing silence. His voice sounded like he was underwater to his own ears. He wasn't quite sure when they'd get past this stage that they were currently repeating over... and over-- and he hoped it was soon. Things couldn't possibly work when one or the other was constantly apologizing for being affectionate or fond.

Princess opened her dormitory door, and began to decend the stairs just in time to hear Alutian's announcement. Oh wow I am Prefect?? Princess thought to herself, and slowly got excited!!! She practically tripped herself as she tried to run down the stairs to the common room.
She gets glomped by Mikki and tries to recover, while doing so she notices lonnie on the stairs, and says "hello Lonnie, how are you? Yes I am enjoying my 2nd year very much thank you." She gives Lonnie a quick hug and continues down the last 5 steps. When she had gotten to the common room floor Anna, a new Ravenclaw had come up to introduce herself. Princess shook Anna's hand and replied: "It is nice to meet you too Anna."
She then over hears miranda asking about the homework assignments, and proceeds to inform all the 1st years: "It would be very wise to pm all your homework to your Professors unless they instruct you to post on the thread. Make sure you add your name, year, and house to all the homework that you turn in to your Professors."
Princess then says: "Happy Be-lated Birthday Miranda!! Thank you all for your congratulations, and I would like to congratulate Miss Fawcett for earning her Deputy Head position." Princess walks over to the table and notices Carrigan's homework has left a ink stain on the table. Princess thought quietly to herself, 'Hmmm I hope he is okay he looked awfully tired in class and here in the common room last night.'
Princess proceeded to gather her books and parchment for her morning classes, and walked up to Mikki: "Hey do you want to go to the Great Hall with me for some breakfast before class starts today?"

Miranda was a little suprised at carrigan's reaction, but it was also a bit...encoraging. In a way.
Bracing herself for whatever might happen afterwards, she got up, and said "Oh really? I hope this is too." She she pulled carrigan's covers off him, and layed down next to him. "That's better."

Mikki hooks an arm around Princess's shoulder. "Yeah, that would be great! I'm STARVING!" She said the last word in a singy voice. "Oh, but I have to get my book bag!" She dashed upstairs and came back down, over full bookbag on her shoulder. "Let's go!" Mikki started marching out of the door.

The first thing Carrigan thought to do was snatch the covers back, suddenly bombarded with the cold he'd been fighting to avoid, but he kept himself still and stared at Miranda as she lay down beside him. He felt his face heating up, which was understandable, though he worked not to complain and simply accept it. He rolled onto his side and stared at Miranda unwaveringly, absolutely silent. Mentally, the Ravenclaw tried to convey his nervous acceptance through his facial expression, but he suspected he failed very miserably at that. Almost unconsciously, he reached over and clasped one of her hands in his, and stared at their interlinked fingers.

Here goes nothin'.||Well, thought Miranda, I hate to fo this to you so soon Carrigan, honey, but I just can't hold it in any longer. And with that, she unclasped her hand from his and put it around his neck. Pulling him closer to her, she pressed her lips to his. Softly at first, but gaining confidence with every second.|| By the way, unless the campground we're going to has internet, I won't be here this weekend.||

Mikki, after stuffing herself full at breakfast and class, slugged into the common room. "Ugh, I could just sleep the week away, I'm so full right now!" She ploofed herself into her favorite dark blue chair in a corner, and drifted off to sleep.

First thing Carrigan thought as Miranda wordlessly unclasped their hands was to say something. He couldn't think of anything. Of course not. The Ravenclaw's heart skipped a beat or three and began to thrum wildly in his chest, his vision blurry oddly around the edges the moment Miranda's fingers slipped against the nape of his neck. It's coming, it's coming; what are you going to do? his mind commented airily, dryly-- almost detached from the situation. Carrigan's ears began warming as she pulled him across the mussed sheets.
He was dizzy with a fearful sort of anticipation; the first year's everlasting self control couldn't keep the shiver from running down his spine when their lips grazed. With a small gasp, Carrigan snapped his eyes shut, feeling his hands trembling where they lay curled loosely around himself. Like protection. Like he was trying not to fall apart. He pressed back warily because he was unsure of what to do, and was already half gone. He couldn't believe what was happening as it happened-- part of him was still stuck in the Library, peering at a girl who loved the dusty books.
Carrigan's heart raced.

Mikki, having been out for a couple hours, finally wakes up in her poofy chair. "Ugh... upstairs... bed...." She stood up and grabbed her bookbag. As she starts to walk, the bottom of the bag rips out. "Dang it...." Mikki picks up all her books and the remnants of her bag.

[[Ah! Where did everyone go? I'M ALL ALONE!!!]]
After making it upstairs to her bed and sleeping for a good few hours, Mikki got up and looked at her broken book bag. Well, I could use the Reparo spell, she thought to herself, but I think duct tape would be more fun! She groped around in her dark trunk to find her roll. Ah, here it is, in the corner, of course! She set to work duct taping her bag back together.
