Maki heard her name and turned to see Katrea peeking through the door. Rushing to the door she flung the door open and hugged his neck.
"KATREA!!!" she shouted. "I missed you! How have you been? No need to answer now, these people claimed they needed help but when I brought help they ignored us."

Chase looked over the crowed and guards for a few moments, her face saying she didn’t like what she saw. So she simply turned and began to walk down and along the wall of the castle as she muttered, “If we can’t get in that way, then we’ll get in our own way.” Once they were around the corner she looked up at the wall of stone, before she smiled as her claws slid out from her fingers. The dragon then looked over at Taras, “How are you at climbing? Can you do it on your own, or do you need some help?”

risa watched the man in rags approach the young women who seemed delighted to see him, she wondered if this man could be the one in charge or perhaps lead them to the one who was.
moving closer with yarshea behind she interrupted the two.
"excuse me knight, but are you the captain of avardias army. i have come to join as a new recruit and so has my friend here."

Squirm fell to all fours in the dark as steam rose from the edge of his mouth and his claws sank deep into the cobbled ground. his eyes a glow as his golden earrings dangled from his pointed ears. his eyes began to fade to their normal yellow colour as tears rolled down them and strange circuler cirled patterns ran up his cheeks and down his shoulders and arms.
squirm felt his body burning as he breathed heavily and he stared down to the ground then moved over to the walls of the dungeon as he stood up right. slowly he face it then shoved both hands to the wall making it bubble and melt , the stone walls eroding like washed away mud.

taras followed chase and at the wall he new as she looked up what she had planed. once she spoke it he lifted his hand and with it open and his finger out he smacked in to the stone. there was small cracks and there was now an imprint to hold on to.
"Lets go."
he punched a bit higher and lifted his foot into the first hole and began working his way up at a normal pace. no doubt chase could move faster but he would get there soon enough.
"we should keep to alleyways once in, to stay unseen."

"i am in the army but i am not that high up. still i can take you to sign up if that is what you wish. Where is it you are from?"
he spoke to the new woman first to here her story, but if she was with the others then they should be ok. he then looked at maki as she hung from his neck he was still unsure how well they new each other
"maki, um… is there a problem. because you shouldn't be here where the men are healing from the battle."
katrea slowly took makis arms from his neck.
"but i would like to speak with you miss maki"
as katrea looked around the room the men didn't seem as bad as he remembered, there would normally be groans and some wouldn't be sleeping so well.
"they looked even better then normal, what’s going on?"

Maki frowned looking a bit hurt, her heart heavy from the coldness she felt in the way he spoke to her.
"Who are you? You're not the Katrea I remember," she said backing away embarrassed. "Sorry to have bothered you, sir."
She turned with a hurtful glance at Zetsuei and ran out of the room and towards the chapel where she last saw Shinja. Everything has changed and she didn't care for it one bit.

Zetsuei knew there was nothing he could do so he let her run. Everything has changed for her so much and now one of the people she has cared deeply for cant even remember.
"Maki"
He said quietly as he watched her run.

Maki couldn't stop the hurting inside as she ran towards the chapel, 'could I not see the wounded people there in the old infirmary? It was crumbling ... why were they still using it?' she asked herself trying to justify Katrea's attitude. While she thought to herself she didn't realize she was actually running for the gate. She looked at how busy everyone was and decided she needed to be alone to think and when no one was watching left the castle walls and sought refuge under the willow tree where she met Fira on the hill.
She leaned against the tree and starred at the castle. She could still hear the people shouting on the other side. A tear rolled down her cheek but quickly rubbed it away.
"Am I that selfish? Is my quest a foolish one?" she thought to herself hugging her knees and resting her chin on top of them. "I lost a friend in search of other friends along the way. I brought a demon to life and set it free within the castle walls ... and now when I thought I was needed ... I'm just in the way."
Not wanting to look at the castle anymore she turned away and began humming a tune she remembered from her icy coffin.

Katrea went to stop the hurt maki from running off but he was too slow, was he too cold with the woman that was from his forgotten past. He soon thought over what he said and understood how cold he had been to someone that was once a loved one.
"Oh no, I hope shes not to hurt."
Katrea would have run after her but he had more grave matters to do, with the coming of battle soon to start all over the world. He must get to the training island to get the knight ready.
"I deeply sorry I didn’t get to speak to maki, but I must go."
He said out loud mostly to himself but so the others could understand his situation.
"Now miss, if you want to join me tell me why you wish to do this. Tell the truth and i will think about letting you join."
He looked at Risa and yashea with his deep yellow eye.

risa looked at the man he was cold in some ways but she could see he was honest in his questioning.
"it is not a easy choice but one i must make. i have been taken to your queens aid and she has offered me this choice. i know the one kali that fights for your enemy"
she was weary of what the man might say and do but continued.
"i knew her before, before this madness when she was an innocent. you may not believe me but something turned her this way and maybe in joining in your fight i can reach her and prevent anymore horrors taking place"

Maki looked at the forest from under the willow tree. She couldn't stop herself from crying, she wondered if she was still ill and the darkness was playing tricks with her mind. She reached down and felt the scars of her old wounds ... the wounds that started her quest. She wanted to see all her old friends before she died. But now ... she wasn't sure about the quest anymore.
"Why did I drag Zetsuei and Shinja from our home on the island?" she mumbled to herself as her eyes began to droop and soon she fell asleep. All the memories of her past began flowing as it corrected its own time line. She remembered an odd scene. Surrounded by scientists gawking at her as she laid on a cold surgical table crying for her parents. An infant too weak to do more than cry and scream her complaints ... then there was the humming echoing from deep within her heart that calmed her anger at the scientists as they jabbed and poked her skin with their metal tweezers pinching her skin where they had just implanted a heart they found in some mountain.

Zetsuei had managed to find Maki sleeping near the trunk of a tree and gently placed his coat over her body and quietly jumped on to a thick branch that would support his weight.

Katrea looked at the woman explaining herself to him. Her voice didn't stutter and her resolve was strong. Katrea felt the queen would let them join and nodded with a smile.
"Ok follow me, we must leave at once."
Katrea tuned to the door and began to walk out.

As Maki slept, she began curling tighter into a ball as she watched a strange memory. A rather large dragon altered by science was chasing her, its snarling teeth and unfocused red eyes as it barreled down towards the boat she was laying in and threw her and the boat into the air. As she dangled she saw the dragon chase a man, it was a young master Sai running up the docks. But then the dock and the man disappeared as the dragon charged into them taking everything to the bottom of the waters with it.
Maki sat up waking from her sleep. She noticed the coat over her and looked around. She looked up and saw Zetsuei on a branch.
"How long have you been there?" she asked hugging her knees. "Is Shinja close by too?"
