Not only are the nids tied to the C'tan. The Adeptus Astartes Mech Priests are as well. If the other C'tan were to be awakened then the "Necron" forces would be literally invincible.

The 'Nids are extra-galactic if I remember my fluff right, and had nothing to do the the war between the Old Ones and the Necrontyr. The assault bugs have nothing to do with the Necrontyr, beyond avoid Tomb Worlds/The Outsider's Prison because there is no viable biomatter to consume there.
(No Life on world = No Enslavers. Perfect for being undisturbed for aeons for the C'Tan)
And it's the Adeptus Mechanicus (think Techpriest Engiseers and the Techmarines of the Chapters) that's more likely to be in with a C'tan then the Astartes. After all, the Immortal God-Emperor probably kicked the Void Dragon across Mars pre-heresy before letting him (the Dragon) have his own cult. The Astartes are built out of the Gene-Seeds of the Primarchs, Pariah, not from the machines of the Omnissiah.

Pariah are those who are psychic blanks. However, the Pariah gene has been created by the Necrons to counter psychic races such as the Eldar and the Warp itself.

And the Space Marines are a little lacking in "blanks", right? The Guard has a bigger percentage of them then the Marines. And that's like, what, 1% of all troops at most for the Guard?

You've got to be joking if you think that 1% of all Guard are blanks...

At most, I said. I'd bet it would be somewhere closer to 0.some-ridiculous-number-of-zeros0001
Hence why Pariahs are 0-1 on the army lists. >>

mind you, most blanks discovered by Imperium are sent to become Culexus temple assassins, so not many remain in the Guard or Marines also, there are many levels of blankness AFAIK, from "slightly unlucky and disturbing to comrades" to "truly blank and outright scary" I had fun once setting Culexus (in an Land Raider, no less!) on Eldrad with retinue of warlocks... Needless to say Eldar demigod was chased away from the table after failing Ld test...

Blanks are also actively recruited by the Inquisition. Just look at Eisenhorn, who started with Lizzy and through her created the Distaff (I think it was called that) which was a special department within his retinue where he trained blanks to deal with psychic threats. Wystan Frauka and Neelah Koy were also part of the Distaff before coming under the auspices of Ravenor.

If I read this correctly, the Exorcists have sacred rites that give their battle brothers a certain defence against psychic attacks. My source is Headhunted by the way, the Exorcist Darrion Rauth survives a direct blast from a super-powered psychic warboss, but his training keeps him alive.

Exorcists are possessed by a daemon first, then have it exorcised and banished. But this is about Necrons, not Astartes.

Saw the new Necron codex today in action. Looks pretty spiffy, some interesting rules makes people think that they'll switch assault phase with the shooting phase for 6th edition?
I dunno about that, but seeing termor staff wielding Necrons essentially set up the entire field as dangerous terrain was pretty nifty.
Also 3+ rounds of night fighting because of the one HQ where units have to make armour saves at the start of their turn because of something. (I forget what)
An' then on top of that scarabs that reduced a land speeder's armour so that it could be penned by bolters was funny too.

The Necrons seem to be much more greatly viable in the 40K universe, so I'm thinking of building an army of them. Does anyone have any recommendations?
