Araina sat back down in her seat, waiting for the man to reply. Kibo was his name. she got bored after a while and started moving things with her mind. first, it was the water glass, then it was the water itself, then it was both. and when she noticed that ppl were staring at her, she stopped, not wanting attention.

The water in the glass shudders, and floats out of the glass. Kibo walks back over to her, two fingers touching the opposite arm.
Kibo: Well, I guess I'd better start off from the beginning. I was sold into slavery by my b*****d of a father.
At the mention of his father, the water falls, half into the glass, and half onto the table.
Kibo: But I guess I should give him some thanks. The man he sold me to was quite kind, and taught me many things. He is no longer with us... sort of. He was killed in a raid a few years ago, so I came to Tortuga to pick up the pieces. I... acquired a moderate sum of gold, and bought my first ship, the Godspeed. It was then that I first began to build my reputation as "The Demonic Kibo Botch." I eventually acquired another ship, the Lightning, from my deceased friend Sir Tiny. From there on, I had the title of Commodore Kibo Botch. I gained a few more ships, and crewmen, and eventually took a little side trip to England, and found out the King was not above bribery. I cost me a pretty pence, but I gained the title of Admiral. That's pretty much all I have to say, in a nutshell. Well, not the most important thing, but that's not something I'm ready to tel you yet.

Araina looked at him for a long time before saying anything, and then says, "well, thank you, and now i will tell you mine..." she paused for a moment, as if it was painful to remember. "when i was born, i was born with my red eyes, and my mother hated me for it... my mother treated me like a waste of space for 15 years, cleaning, cooking, and tending to my mother when she was drunk (which explains why i hate alcohol). then, on my 16th birthday, my mother made me become a bar tender, so that she could get free drinks (which makes me hate alcohol even more). then, one day, one glorious day, a man named Captain Haer stepped in my bar (by the way, my bar is that closed down building, where ppl put all the passed out drunk ppl.) and said that i could do passaage on his ship, the Saphire Goblet, (which is the same ship i have now, except, it is named the Crimson Curse) to go to Sigapore, well, by the time we got there, the Captain had made me his FM. i was so happy then..." she paused, trying not to cry from the memory. "and then, almost exactly two years later, the Captain got shot by those d**** british, and made me captain with his last breath.... then, we went here and the whole crew deserted me, leaving me with no crew, so i spent 5 months lookin' for a crew of only women. you would not believe how many women are dressed up as men... anyway, so that is my story..." she said her eyes filled with tears, but she would not cry, not in front of him...

Kibo shifts his eyes, thinking for a moment.
Kibo: Is this "mother" still alive?
He crosses his fingers, hoping she'd say no. It would make things so much more interesting.

"so," araina said, wiping her eyes from the tears, "now that we are more aquainted, i feel that you should tell me more about this "Spirit Fleet" of yours... how many ships are there? can i keep my ship and crew? what are we fighting, if anything, and what is the purpose?" her eyes flicker a little, as she waits for his answer...

Natasha looked over at Kibo and Araina and grinned. Taking a long swig from her bottle of rum.

((Trust me, there's no such thing.))
Kibo: There's... hmm...
He counts off on his fingers
Kibo: The Godspeed, Dagger, Dreadnaught, Bloodshed, Phantasm, Blazing Glory, Demon, Banshee,, and the Puck are my ships. If you join my fleet, not only will you gain access one of my gold stores, support in battle, and more. But the monetary gains pale in compare to... other advantages.

((Puck is the spirit of mischief from Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream"))
Kibo: Well, I'm currently involved in a battle with a Commodore by the name of Michael. The purpose is to save... this.
He waves his hand around.
Kibo: Michael is aiming to destroy Tortuga, and I'm trying to stop him. As for the... other advantages, I need to have a commitment first.

(((oh...)))
Araina was dissapointed that the girl did not get very mad at the spilled rum. she didn't know why this Kibo guy wanted to save this dead rock, but she was starting to like him, so she glanced at the clock. 11:48 pm. "well, i will talk to my crew about it as soon as i get a chance." she told him. "will you be here in an hour or so?" she asked.

not wanting to wait for an answer, she got up, and left the bar. she wasn't going to be late for this meeting of hers... when she got to the place where they said they would meet, she saw that everybody was there, but without any new ppl. "Well, where are they?" she asked impatiently. "Well, captain, we could not find any women, but we did find men..." her FM said. "well, never mind about that, we have been asked to be in a fleet, it is called the spirit fleet. it is trying to save tortuga, from another fleet that is trying to destroy it. well, what do you say? do we want to join?" she looked at everybody as nobody spoke. then, her FM said, "well, who is the commander?" she asked. "the admiral is someone like me... his name is Kibo, and i said that we would think about it..." she explained. "well, i think we should vote... all in favor for joining, raise your hand..." the FM said, more than 1/2 of the crew raised their hand. "well, i guess we will be fightin' in this spirit fleet.... now what is the price i wonder?" she smiled. "more than the usual, i'll tell u that!" araina smiled at her crew. there were only about 10 of them, but they were strong, so she went back to the bar to tell the admiril that she was in...

Kibo smiles as a small, but strangely translucent, bird flitters off his shoulder and passes through the wall of the tavern.
Kibo: So you're in? Excellent.
He grabs Araina's right hand, and presses two fingers against her palm. When he lifts them, a small marking is revealed, which sinks into the flesh, disappearing from view.
Kibo: Welcome to the fleet, love. When you get back to your ship, just touch your palm to some part of the wall in your captain's quarters where you can easily reach it if you get into trouble, alright?
He sits back down, looking up at the ceiling.
Kibo: I guess you want answers now, huh?
