Artemis faked a sniff and quickly glanced at the newly christened Devon. Artemis cought the direction of which Devon was looking at, and found Charade in the line of sight. Artemis grinned and went over to Lily.
Artemis whispered, "Lily, I think Devon has a little something for Charade. I want to see how this turns out. Now. Let's make those burgers."

"I only meant we needed to cook the actual patties. Yes, everyone can put on their own toppings." She also looked at Charade and Devon. "Shouldn't we Travelers keep our heads out of the relationships? Look what happened already, to Themba." A tear silently leaked out of her eye, so she quickly grabbed an onion from the bag and started peeling it.

At the mention of Themba's name Ilandere stiffened and paled. She had been trying to block it all, all the emotions, all the memories. Hearing his name made everything want to come flooding back. She closed her eyes to stop the tears, but she knew they would come.

Ilandere stood warily and slowly made her way towards the door. She opened it and stepped outside, lingering just out of sight with no intention of leaving. She leaned on the wall to the right of the door and slid down into a sitting position.

A twinge of pain shot through her shoulder and she pulled back her sleeve to expose the bandages. They were bright crimson red from her blood. She pulled at them and undid the bandages, exposing her shoulder to the healing air. It began to sting at first but it slowly went away.

Ilandere looked to the darkening sky seeing the clouds that were ready to burst. And then they did. The rain came down heavily, quickly soaking the streets. There it was again. The rain she had longed to see but had only seen one time before. She was glad it was here now. Maybe it would drown out the sounds of her sobs so the others wouldn't hear.

Devon tried to ignore Charade as much as possible but when he looked at her on his peripheral vision, he noticed the added glide to the step. He shook his head silently. Well well well. How 'bout that? She wants me to stare at her. Hm. I'll just... Devon pulls out a pair of shades and slips them on.
He leaned back and closed his eyes. He took several deep breaths and thought in a third person, "Now, thine brain hath decieved thee, so thou shalt purge the image. Brain purge initiate.
Devon's head tilted awkwardly and his body started to twitch.

((Hey guys! I'm sorry to say I'm going to be gone untill Sunday or Monday as of tomorrow evening, but it's not like many people have been posting lately anyways so don't just decide to go posting crazy as soon as I'm gone xp . I'm going to the desert with my family and we're going duneing on our quads. I'm also going to finish my book! Two more chapters (Ch. 27 & 28 ) and I'll be done! I'm so excited. Untill then! Hobey ho!))
