"What do you mea-" he started but his eyes soon followed Sayael's gaze to the threatening clouds gathering not all that far from where they were. ".. Oh." He frowned, thinking since night was on its way, the clouds would only make it all the darker. "The tent thing you brought is waterproof... isn't it?" His tone was definitely hopeful. Being in a snow storm was one thing, one thing he didn't mind in the least. But rain.. he wasn't so fond of.

He nodded. "Of course - I've been traveling before. But I'm more worried about the wind, so we need shelter," he said, eyes still fixed on the on comming clouds. He looked away, finally, and spotted a small wood. He pointed. "There, it'll have to do." He started Isfahel towards it and they reached it very quickly. He dismounted and led his horse through the tall trees until they were out of sight of the road. They could get out again easily, as it wasn't a large wood, and it would be best to stay in the center where the cover would be thickest. He walked to his sattle bags and set about taking out what he needed for the tent and began to set it up. He was used to setting it up by himself and had the knack of it, so he didn't bother to ask for the other's help.

It was finished after a few minutes. He took the saddle off of Isfahel and layed a blanket of him before setting a tarp over him. "Here," he said to Dax, handing him a tarp. "It should keep her dry, but I think she'd prefure it if you put it on. There was a thick string at part of it and he explained that would have to go around the neck. It would be lose, but if the wind rose they didn't want to lose the tarps.

With all that done, he climbed into the tent and began to set up the inside. He could tell that it would start raining soon - the clouds were nearly over head - but he was confedent in the stability and water proofing of his tent. The inside was just large enough for two people, but deffinately much more comfortable than a normal tent would be.

Once having the tarp in hand, Dax unwrapped it to its full length and stared at it oddly. He knew Jacqueline wouldn't like it very much, but of course it would be better than being soaked. He moved back over to where he had earler tied his mount, whispered something in her ear(most likely what he was going to do), and placed the string around her neck. The horse stomped the ground once but gave no further protest as the tarp was stretched over her large body with a little difficulty.

The disguised blonde looked up to the sky, hearing the low sound of rolling thunder, indicating the storm was upon them. It was further proven when a single raindrop hit him in the eye. He brushed it away with a scowl, but when that single drop multiplied into several more, he knew he had to get inside. Before he could get too wet, he scrambled into the tent, accidently knocking heads with Sayael in his rush. "Ow!" He sat back rubbing his forehead. ".. Sorry."

Sayael had just been in the process of getting up to check on the other when a hard something collided with his head, forcing his back down. "Ow..." he said, eyes tearing slightly. "Watch it next time, 'kay? This tent isn't exactly big. I usually have it to myself and when I packed it was... well, for myself," he said, shrugging slightly. He sat all the way back down, rubbing at his head where it hurt. "And now we wait," he muttured over the sound of steady rain.

Before moving onto any of the blankets, Dax slid his shoes off and sat them aside into the corner of the tent. "Looks to me like we've got our camping spot for the night," he said, sitting back. It definitely wasn't as comfortable as his own bed, but what more could he expect when inside a tent? He brought his knees up to his chest, wrapping his arms around them. "So.. How about some dinner while we're immobile?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 06, 2006 12:07 pm

Sayael had already taken his shoes off - luckily they were dry - and they sat near the entrance of the tent, which had been closed after Dax's entrance. "Right..." He turned away from the other and rummaged through his saddle bag until he found some fresh as well as some dried fruit as well as some dried meat. "No cooking while it's raining," he explained. "I don't want to risk a fire inside a tent." He handed some of what he had found to Dax before beginning on his own. It was good enough - deffinately better than what a regular travelor would have - but probably not what the other prince was used to.

He nodded, understanding the logic of no fires inside. Even he wouldn't take the risk of it, but of course it meant cold meat for tonight. He tightened his lips so he wouldn't frown at the selection and instead reached for a ripe-looking peach. "Do you think they've noticed by now?" he asked, nipping at the sweet fruit. "That is, do you think everyone back at the palace has noticed we're both missing?"
PostPosted: Sun Aug 06, 2006 6:36 pm

"They'll have noticed you, for sure, but I was never planning to stay past today." he smiled slightly at the involuntary rhyme. "I managed to convey the idea that I had to begin my travels again this morning, so perhaps they will only be looking for you and not for me. That would make it easier." He took a handful of dried fruit and popped dried strawberry into his mouth. "It means they would only send enough people to find and possibly detain one person," he continued, explaining his logic. "Therefor it would be easier for us to escape if they ever found us."

Dax's features twisted into that of looking uncomfortable. As a little juice from the peach dribbled down his chin, he wiped it away with the back of his hand seeing as how there was no napkin around for him to use. "Oh, I'll be detained.. How exciting," he said dully. There had been several times before where he had been brought back to the palace without his consent, but if he was caught this time, it wouldn't be good at all. "Well, if that's the case, I bet the town and all surrounding roads with be swarming with guards and people on the look-out tomorrow." A little grin then passed over his lips. "Our acting skills will truly be put to the test."

He looked slightly shocked, his mouth hanging just barely open. He muttered something about over protective parents to himself as he popped another strawberry into his mouth. His parents had never sent anyone after him - after all, his mother would have been incapable of such a thing and the king was too distant to particularly care. Sayael was easily replacable, having twelve siblings - and he wasn't even directly supposed to inherit the crown, due to his not having a direct blood conection to the king, but his birth and magic had made it quite obvious he should be king (at least at first). "Well, I'm pretty confident. I'm used to lying. But you... you don't seem like a practiced liar to me," he said thoughtfully. "Are you sure you can manage to keep your voice in a beleivable octave?"

"Well, I haven't had much reason to lie until I met some trouble-making prince!" Dax argued, obviously accusing Sayael. "And of course I can manage my own voice.. If something goes wrong, I'll just claim I have a cold or I've used it too much yelling at my head-strong husband." He gave the other a bright, yet at the same time cocky smile before taking the last bite from the fruit and setting the seed aside. "Just don't worry about it. I'll have it under control. Either way, though, it'd be best if we avoid any of the search parties anyway. Some may have detection magic at the ready."

Sayael returned the other's smile, thinking somewhat absently that he seemed to be rubbing off on the other prince. Deffinately not the cold prude he had first met at the party. "I can deflect detection magic if I need to, but it's hard and if I have to do it too many times I'm not sure what will happen..." he said, frowing. He would probably just pass out - like the majority of times when he over used his powers - but sometimes... other things happened. It had seemed, once, that when he was too tired to use his magic and had been... empty, he had been able to feel into another, different magic. Perhaps it had had something to do with being in a different kingdom, for he had been close to the Wall at that time.

He smiled slightly in spite of himself - the other was obviously trying to cheer him up and the gesture was appriciated. "Hmm... well, it's not exactly dislike," he said thoughtfully, comming over to join the other on the bench, gentlypulling hi hair over one shoulder before he has down - it was braided and reached past his waiste and it was exceeding painful if he ever forgot and sat on it. He ran several fingers through silky strands before continuing, "I's more like... I always felt useless. I was nothing more than a disapointment to him... But I suppose that shouldn't matter any more. He died... years ago."

"As a matter of fact, I don't beleive it. But not attaining a goal doesn't mean you're not happy... Haven't you ever heard the story of the old man and his cherry blossom tree? He took care of a tree with tender love for ten years, but it never once flowered. One day, it finally flowered and it was the most beautiful thing he ever saw. But he died the next day. Apparently it's because his heart's desire was fulfilled and he had nothing left to live for..." he murmured, smile in place on his lips as he moved his finger around in a circle to illistrate the end. "Besides... it's a little scary.. or, at least, I think it is... To be able to acheive th one thing you desire... It could change your life for ever, or... end it. I... have a wish, but... it isn't something I can do."

He blinked slightly and smiled appologetically. "I'm sorry... I must be boring you..." He flushed slightly, eyes downcast as he couldn't meet the other's gaze, hands moving to cover his mouth in appolegetic embarrasment. "I've never really talked about this before... and here I am, troubling someone I barely know."
Muertian watched Rosaline as the other spoke. A wish? Intriguing. He wondered what it could be. Butterflies passed by and landed on the duo intermittently.

He shook his head confidently, "Not at all. You're perfectly fine." He seemed content listening. "What's this wish? Tell me, please," he asked curiously.

A slight reminder poked in his head to comment on the other's relationship with their father. "Oh-- You're not useless by any means, Miss Rosaline. Not at all. I've seen those dresses. They're stunning." He grinned. "I believe I ordered one for my brother, even not to long ago. It was pink lace... I appreciated your wonderful skills quite thoroughly, though I am terribly sorry to say, I have yet to see him wear it... Anyway... about this wish--?"

He looked thoughtful for a moment. "I beleive I do remember that dress..." he murmured. Well, that explained something. He'd thought the measurements were... rather like his own. No bust, no hips and not much of a waist - although Rosaline had a bit more than the average male. He smiled faintly, wondering why on earth Muertian would order a dress for hi brother. he decided not to ask, however, and smiled a little as the other spoke. It was nice to be appriciated. But what good were dresses when it really came down to it?

He looked up as the other mentioned the wish... again, and flushed slightly, looking away. "It's... well, it's sort of... umm..." He felt a little silly - perhaps like a child, if he had ever had known what it was like to be one, for he had never had a childhood. "I... I want to be free," he murmured at last, looking a little embarrassed.
