"Dodge out of the way." Kiani commanded. This battle was taking a long time. Kiani could have countered, but she didn't really want to.
11-1-5+8-7= 6 dmg /2 not very effective = 3 dmg to Meren! Meren is down to 5hp!
Meren was washed with a wave of intense heat. Luckily, it's natural watery nature took off some of the heat. For heat, it sure packed a wallop. The Mudkip once again attempted to ram it's opponent, in hopes of a knock out.

The Surskit landed a small hit this time but looked disappointed when the human decided to recall the pokemon into the ball. What was that all about? Irritated that the battle was interrupted when the trainer tried to kick him, he would attempt to dodge and shoot a Mud-Shot at him instead for revenge! The battle was just getting to the good part and he was now out for blood!

The Numel saw the serious look on the Mudkip's face and it startled him. This time in his haste, he actually tripped trying to escape and stumbled to do a face plant on the rock hard ground!

There was a resounding crunch as the mudkip collided into the collapsed Numel. The Fire-type’s body went limp and the fire in its hump began to die out. Meren looked at her former opponent in horror. “>What have I…?<” Tao return to the scene of the battle. He looked upon the terrain scorched by heat alone. He approached his pokemon and looked upon its expression. The water-type seemed ashamed, or was it sadness? Tao couldn’t tell exactly but it was staring at the body of the Numel. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know that the Numel was dead. Tao chose his word carefully and began to break the silence. “I…Suppose we should bury him…” He realized they weren’t standing on soil, “Or at least make him a respectful grave…” He began to search the area for loose rocks and began piling it on the dead Numel. After he was done, he looked over at his pokemon, completely exhausted. The water-type seemed really morose. Tao put his hand on its head and spoke in a low voice, “Don’t be sad, Meren. There wasn’t anything we could do stop this…” He paused, “I guess we should probably forge on ahead while we still can, it’s starting to get dark.” [7/10] Inj:[1/5]

Potion used on Meren. Meren was healed for 9 hp! Tao was walking along when a thought came back to him. He stopped and looked back at Meren, who was following along sulkily. "Oh, right. I was going to heal you after that battle...right." He pulled out the potion he received when he was briefed of the mission in the classroom. He began to gently spray the water-type's wounds with the item. [8/10]

Tao and Meren walked along in silence. A first-hand experience with death left a bitter aftertaste hanging in the air. Meren knew Tao couldn't understand pokemon and it made the experience all the worse for her. They weren't prepared for an experience like that. That much was certain.

Fire Fang missed
The Poochyena growled, pawing the ground in frustration. He desperately wanted to kill this Litleo, sink his teeth into her throat... But he had to play it safe. He limped back, staring warily in preparation to dodge.
As the pair were walking, they would come across a Sandile sunning itself, snoring away on the left side of the path. They were free to pass by him as he slept as long as they were quiet. Unless they wanted to cause a scene and wake him up and face his wrath~
The pair trudged on passed the Sandile. A fight was clearly not what they wanted at the moment considering how the last one faired. They walked further nearing the top of the volcano. Being near the end, took some of their thoughts off their heavy heads. It would be curious to see the top. Once they reached it.

Unfortunately luck was not with the pair. As they were reaching the top, a Numel stood in their path. There were tear streaks down her face as she looked both furious and grief-stricken. ">Murderers! I will make you regret killing my brother!<" she screamed. By her stance and blocking the path, it was obvious they were in for a fight, whether they wanted to or not.

This battle would have been a whole lot more interesting if Lily had more moves, but she only had the two and Kiani wanted this battle to end. "Use Fire Spin." Kiani commanded. She didn't want to use leer, not when the poochyena was looking this weak already.
Meren's eyes widened in terror ">N-no...I didn't mean to kill him...I didn't want to...<" Tears welled in her face. She looked up at the Numel and Shouted, ">I don't want this! I didn't want to kill him! And I don't want to kill you! No!<" she couldn't hold the tears back and choked, ">I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry....<"
Tao watched the exchange. There were times when he wished he could understand pokemon. This was no doubt one of those moments. From what he saw, his pokemon was having an emotional breakdown. He decided try and remain a fixture in the background of the exchange and tried not to look like a clueless idiot, even though he kind of was at this point. [9/10] inj:[1/5]
