With one full cup in hand, West reached for a second. He had barely touched the plastic when he felt something akin to litter bugs ghosting up his spine. What in the... The boil turned slowly, his brows dipping when he saw Levi's face. What? He mouthed the word instead of simply thinking it. What? Was something wrong? She was only talking to Lizzy... what could be... He stood up straighter, abandoning the second cup of punch. Was Needle's poison finally kicking in? Had he been too distracted by her poky bits and interesting conversation to see her nefarious murdering skills? Speaking of murder, what in the hell was that scream all about? West slid a foot forward, his punch-holding hand steady. He widened his eyes at Levi, inclining his head forward slightly.Should I come over there? Are you afflicted with crazy ghost poison?

Mot's heart jumped a bit at the compliment, smiling shyly and letting her drag him to the refreshment table. "You always did have faith I could." He murmured, taking up a cup while he was there. "I've just not had much of a reason to.. until then." Just the thought of Titus acting as he did made Mot's blood boil. She cringed, biting back his anger. He breathed in deeply and huffed, pouring himself some punch. Oh yes, he was still in a tissy over it.

Don't settle, Mot said. Don't settle? If Riyo was 'settling' as the boil suggested, she would be alone right now, settling for the cold company of a stagnant room.
The feline flinched as she watched Mot slap the boil, surprised that the usually soft-tempered cowboil had done such a thing. Good for him, though. She hoped he'd keep up that trend.

Did it make her happy that she'd ruined Titus's fun? the vindictive side of her was pleased to no end. The rest of her was just upset. Happy now? He'd asked. Really?

"No." The feline answered honestly, using her free hand to straighten out the cravat that Hel had grabbed. After that it rested gently on his shoulder. "I figured that'd be the way you wanted it anyways."

Slow dances. This was something she knew how to do, embarrassingly enough. It wasn't like the exciting jive Mot had taught her. It was.. Intimate. "I don't understand why you'd ask me to come here with you and then leave me standing around like an idiot. Unless this was your idea of a cruel game. In which case I guess I can only say touche."

She waited, and waited, and waited, and waited for a response from Levi. However, when there was nothing but silence - and a few odd faces being made by the ghoul - Lizzy begun to grow worried, her brow furrowing as she reached out to tap her friend on her shoulder, "Levi...? Is everything alright?"
She then started to turn around to try to see what the ghoul might be looking at.

"WHAT IS WITH THIS SAPPY MUSIC."

Brutus threw things in his frustration. Riyo, Lifen, and Roch would each find themselves getting hit with a small mask.

No- she's asking. Asking. What should she say, what should she do?'He's right- he's... West was that tiny bit closer and Lizzy was turning now to see what she'd been gawking at. Oh Jack! He's around. Her ears flickered with agitation at not being able to get the words out. How was this so hard? Lizzy was a ghoul with a boilfriend. Surely she could express her interest in hi- Oh Jack. Don't be watching me. She's looking for you. No, don't walk over here! She fanned her hands out over Lizzy's turned head, trying to -not- grab West's attention. Good job, tatzel.

"Yes. Were. I had common sense to stop at a reasonable height." She continued, the snort giving a rise to a soft chortle as she glanced up to him wryly. "You decided to be difficult, as per. But that is okay, I could not have it any other way - it is like a comfort, having such a tall friend." She offered up to him. It was like having a large watchdog, there to intimidate with size and stature. She wouldn't tell him this, but it was always how she felt, after he outgrew her - and most of the clansmen. A constant shadow.
Feeling his hand that was grasping hers move, she looked at it momentarily, lowering her own for a moment as his fingers caught her face. The soft movement startled her only a little, as she turned to look at him again, she felt as if she was blushing again, feeling a little blessed that the mask hid most of the tint behind it's darkness.

As her face lifted up, she lidded her eyelashes a little, and her hands tensed a little where they rested on his chest. "I did not mean it that way." She replied, as quiet as his statement, a light smile gracing her features.

"I know you will be there, you are my knight in shining armour, remember." It was less of a nickname, and more of a sentiment, now.

Suddenly, though a small metallic item flung itself in her direction, ricochetting off one of her pale arms. Looking down, her eyebrows knit as she momentarily broke off contact with Mengyao to lean down and pick up the little charm - as gracefully as she could, before pursing her lips at it before tucking it away in her sash. Looking up at him again, she allowed another chortle to escape. "That was odd."

No? Well, great. Here came the emotional downpour of ghoully problems and why she wasn't happy. Maybe it was that time of the month for her. He waited for a moment while she fidgited with his cravat before he led them in a dance across the floor keeping with the slower tune. "You should be able to guess my nature by now, Princess. It's not like a hide it. " Despite his rude nature Titus kept the dance slow and gentle. Dancing lessons were deeply ingrained. "I asked you to crash Prom with me, " Titus explained casually looking down at the feline. "I didn't know that implied I needed to stand by your side the whole time. " He paused for a moment before he continued. "Besides, you looked like you were....having fun. " And he had decided to leave her with it.

Heidla moved back, her fists clenched (she left her drink somewhere, it seemed). Something in her countenance seemed changed, yet she was playing her usual social self. She smiled to Kiwi and suddenly asked, with a nod to dancing Willow and Fai: "So you dance differently in different situations, don't you? Isn't it nice to be a part of a huge family, as you all in Famine must feel ". She looked at Eisheth: "You must have known each other for ages, haven't you? " It sounded rather stupid, but she needed to say something silly, just to get rid of this feeling of disaster.

Hel placed her empty cup down and picked up another one, chugging it. “…Ha…it is alright, Mot, truly. Get mad. It is very healthy .” Or so Hel thought. She also thought Mot kept things pent up too much. “I think you harm yourself by reining it in more than actually letting it out at times .” She paused, swirling her cup around for a moment before her lips twisted, and she turned to look back at him. “…Thank you .”

Soaking up their time together Mitsu only pulled away from resting forehead to forehead in favor of resting her head against Shun's shoulder. It was almost hard to imagine how far they had come since last Prom time. How much they had grown as individuals and as a couple. Heck, last year for Prom they had only been friends and now Mitsu couldn't imagine a day without her reaper by her side. Her fiance. It still made her giddy to think. She wished everyone could feel as happy as she did. "I feel like the luckiest person in Halloween right now ," Mitsu admitted, continuing to sway with the music.

No, he didn't hide it, and in some sick way Riyo admired that about him. He lied sometimes, but half of the time he didn't have to. If he felt something, he announced it. Didn't matter who was around, who it hurt, or who would BE hurt by it.
Oh. Yeah. The crashing part. And there she had went crashing him crashing prom. Oh irony, you somehow managed to make her feel a little better. "I never said I wanted you by my side the whole time, I just figured..."

 BONK.

Something hit her on the side of the head. The ghoul looked down at the floor with red orbs full of rage, only to find that it was some stupid mask. Well ******** it. More important things to attend to right now. "I figured you might've had some sliver of interest in being around me if you wanted me to go somewhere with you." This was weird. Slow dancing. With Titus. Admitting things. While slow dancing. With Titus.

Her ears perked as he mentioned her having fun. What, he had actually been watching her? Moreover, he didn't want to stop her from having a good time? "I had been." No use in hiding it.

"But uh..." The ghoul's gaze glanced upward, darting around as if she was trying not to pay attention to what she was saying. "Maybe I would've had more fun if I'd been dancing with the boil I thought wanted me to go to prom with him." Just a thought.

"I am never difficult," said Mengyao, but there was no heat to his words, and his voice was surprisingly low, though tinged with a dash of amusement. "I am just..."
What was he, exactly? The answer to that question was something indistinguishable, something he couldn't identify, not now. He frowned a little, his gloved fingers shifting a bit on her face. His thumb brushed over her cheek almost absently, Mengyao lost within his own thoughts, and for a moment he was silent, his eyes finding Lifen's and holding her gaze steadily. Her voice was quiet, and he took an instinctive step forward, eyes flashing.

 "Lifen - "

Except he never got to finish his sentence, since at that moment something was flung out and collided with Lifen's arm, and Mengyao started, something snapping. Lifen broke away from him, leaning down to pick up...well, whatever it was, and with a look of bemusement, slipped the mask into her sash.

 "That was odd."

Mengyao pressed his lips together. Without another word, he leaned down, one arm going around Lifen's waist, the other pulling her up into his arms so that she was leaning slightly over his shoulder, an arm against the back of her knees to steady her.

"I need some fresh air, and you are coming with me," he said, and proceeded to carry her towards the door.

Okay. She was moving. That was good. Not poison then. At least he thought not. Were there poisons that didn't paralyze you? Of course there were; what was he thinking? West sighed as he completed his step toward the ghouls, then froze like he'd been the one paralyzed as Levi started wiggling her hands around like some land-stranded floresce. No? Oh, crap. This was not what she wanted. Not at all. He was supposed to be hiding now, wasn't he. Far too close to back away now, West stepped into Lizzy's line of sight instead, holding out the cup of punch like he had stolen it and was now trying to frame her. "Here ya go. I was standin' over there... gettin' punch fer someone... not here. I thought ya looked thirsty instead. How's it goin'? I wouldn't know."

Mot held a lot inside. Especially anger. It was an unseemly emotion in his books, and always made efforts to keep from letting himself give in to it. As for it bringing harm, he wasn't sure he knew what she meant. As far as he knew he thought holding t back was the healthy thing to do. But then again, Hel always did prefer to the straightforward and bold road. His bashful smile faltered slight as Hel thanked him. He stared softly before smiling warmly. Then proudly. "You're welcome. I thought you could handle it, but.. well. I cannot stand by and watch something like that while doing nothing to help." He took a small sip from the cup, then letting it roll side to side from one hand to another. "Besides. A capable warrior you may be, but you're also a lady."
