When his question got turned back on him surprise flitted across his face for a second, stumped as he wasn't entirely sure himself what the answer was. Had he heard about it before anything had happened between them, what would he have done then? With the knowledge that, with that obstacle out of the way, she could be happy with someone that he had come to accept would care for her, he probably wouldn't have ever given into his own feelings. Keep his heart in a cage like it was supposed to be. Despite all of the confusing, conflicting and frustrating emotions that had come along with her, though, he didn't regret his decision to be with her. The amount of happiness she'd brought him far overpowered those feelings. But it was that same happiness she gave him that now had his heart stinging. "I... don't know." He answered truthfully with a frustrated sigh. "But the fact that you didn't want me to know... says a lot."
Her last words made him laugh bitterly again. "Is it, though? All in the past...? You're still in love with him?" It had been a mix between a question and a statement, as he feared he knew the answer already, but he needed to hear her actually say it. He didn't trust his own assumptions anymore.

"Got it..." Kiah hesitantly took a seat on the stool and let out a shaky breath, ready for her impromptu haircut to be over with as soon as possible. She faced Liv and looked to the ground to make it easier on the older woman, watching the strands of long blond hair slowly float their way down and litter the floor. After a few moments of that, she started to feel worse about the whole situation and tilted her head slowly in search of Luci. She didn't want to accidentally make Liv screw up on her hair any more than it already was, but she could use a distraction. "Hey... Luci... Why don't you tell us what your favorite thing to do here is?" she suggested, carefully removing a lock of hair from her arm regretfully.

Luci went over to stand in front of Kiah and tapped her chin, thinking what her favorite thing was. Her eyes lit up when her mind stopped on it, "Ice cream!" she nodded and smiled broadly, "I love the ice cream here! It takes so much better at the beach, I don't know why!"
Liv continued to slowly work at the matted hair and gum, gradually getting it all out. It took a while since she was being so careful, but eventually she got it all out, and managed to save a decent amount of length. She figured Kiah would at least still be able to get it into a bit of a stubby ponytail if she wanted to.
"Alright...I've got the gum out, and I tried to salvage as much of the length as I could. Let's wash your hair so I can give it a bit of style, alright?" she smiled and brushed the remnants of hair from Kiah's shoulders before moving to turn on the sink, "If you come to the sink I can wash it for you."
