((Ack! okay.. Dx I'm sorry.. I've been distracted doing something.. Please go ahead.. Don't mind Abel..))

((It's okay! I was planning for her to skip class anyway. emotion_awesome She was going to sneak out of school as soon as Abel left. >=3 I'll just assume he ran after Ayu, then. And she is free to sneak like a little ninja faerie))

"Yes, frostbite," Gray said, looking down at her. She seemed a little...vacant. He wondered if she was more than a bit daft. "And no, there is not an eye under the eye patch. The eye was taken by a rather greedy Undine, as payment for a few paltry secrets." And by paltry, he meant rather significant secrets having to do with eternal life, youth and raising the dead--that sort of thing. "And I'm pleased you like it, but if that's a tacit request for me to give it to you, I fear I must decline as I have far greater need of it than you."

He carried Xochiquetazl. "Now, let me ask a question, young miss. What was your name again? As you are a new student, I fear we hadn't much chance to be introduced. I am Peregrine Elliott Gray Wellington IV, lovingly referred to as Professor Gray by my students."

He stepped into the infirmary, not immediately seeing anyone. "Hallo!" he called, carrying her over to one of the beds. "Anyone here?"

((I'm assuming, from your posts, that she is not immune to the cold, and her feet actually are suffering a bit. XD Since she kept trying to warm them up and such))

Xochiquetzal frowned as they entered what she presumed to be the infirmary. There was no doctor there, however, so she didn't comment – yet. For now, she focused on the 'Undine' he spoke of. She was certain her mother had mentioned it quite a few times back at home – but, then, her mother had mentioned quite a few things every minute of the day that sounded similar enough to 'Undine'. Still, it struck her as something she had heard before and she wasn't one to deny such strikings. But, she would deal with that later. For now, she wanted an eye patch. “I need only to lose my eyes – then I would require it?” Would it be that much trouble to lose an eye? He seemed to be doing just fine with only one and he wasn't the divine being she was! Surely, she could do well with no eyes and be more in need of an eye patch than he. ..No, two eye patches.

She smiled slightly at the idea before answering his next question. “Xochiquetzal Celeste Judith Rosalyn Isobel Min-Ya Nuo-Mu Teddy Newt von der Bach-Xiqui. The spell casting professor calls me 'Celeste'. I don't think he knows how to say my name.” She glanced down at the beds he carried her over, disliking the idea of being put down so quickly. She had only just begun to enjoy herself! “Peregrine.. The falcon? Are you related?” She had seen quite a few of those birds back home – her father often required their beaks.

((Of course! =D I would'a mentioned it if it were otherwise~ ))

Well, she was definitely another odd one. "Well, I wouldn't recommend losing an eye really," Gray said. "Especially not to an Undine. It's a rather nasty business for rather small pay off." He blinked at the rather grand name she presented to him. "I can see why he chose only part. And Celeste is rather pretty. But is there a section of the name you prefer? It is a bit unwieldy--most people would likely forget what they needed to tell you by the time they reached the end."

"And no, generally speaking, I'm not related to birds. Just named after them."

"Can I help you?"

Gray spun around as the doctor materialized, seemingly out of no where, and spoke to him. He still hadn't forgotten about the hand licking incident from earlier, and stepped back, narrowing his eyes. "Looks like one of my students was running about in the snow without shoes. I'd like you to have a look at her feet."

Javor raised an eyebrow, approaching the girl on the bed. Without shoes in the snow? She didn't look to be some kind of ifrit or elemental. Silly girl. Humans truly were such foolish creatures. He crouched in front of her to inspect her feet. "Are they causing you any pain, little one?" he asked, picking up one of her cold feet, to examine it. They were definitely quite red. But he didn't see signs of serious frostbite yet. Though, of course, he couldn't rule out the possibility of nerve damage. "How long were you in the snow with no shoes? And where are they?"

Oh, that was right.. Xochiquetzal forgot her name was rather long – she was just used to saying the entire name, as was often requested by her parents. It was likely due to them forgetting it themselves, but she had no reason to believe that so she didn't. As for which part she would prefer – she hadn't thought of that before. Celeste, Judith, and Min-Ya were commoners.. Nuo-Mu was an annoyance, while Newt.. well, she never did like their family cat very much. “..Teddy. I prefer Teddy.” Her mother's bear was the only one worthy of her, she supposed. “That is disappointing.” She added in reference to the birds. She would have liked to have someone more in tune with the animals should she require any parts. ..Especially for Ayu; she wasn't sure what was wrong with the girl, but she was afraid she may need more than what she had brought with her.

Oh, well, she would make do on her own – for now, there was an unusual being approaching them. She stilled as she observed the.. thing. It was rather unlike anything she had ever seen before. She continued to watch it in awe, answering slowly as most of her attention was on the assessment rather than anything spoken. “...At first, however, they are rather numb now.. I have never worn shoes since arriving.” She stole her eyes from the creature towards her professor, finding it much easier to speak when she wasn't staring straight at the oddity, “How long have we been outside? I presume that would be the most consistent length that would be needed. There were other periods, briefer..” She quieted again as she looked back at the doctor, nurse, whatever it was.

((So slow~ D': Sorry, midnight visitors keep distracting me. 9w9))

"Very well, Teddy. It's a pleasure to finally be formally introduced," Gray said, smiling down at her. Well, she was sort of cute, even if she was a little weird. Though...what was with everyone and being disappointed about his lack of connection to birds lately? Strange people...Speaking of strange people, Gray noticed that Javor was looking at him curiously. "Ah, yes. Well, we were out in the snow for at least twenty minutes before I noticed she had no shoes."

"You are fortunate," Javor said, as he carefully began to rub Xochiquetal's feet. "You have frostnip, but it has not yet progressed to frostbite. There is no permanent tissue damage, but we must warm the skin and create circulation. Where are here shoes?"

Gray shrugged. "She says they're unnatural and apparently hasn't been wearing any."

Well, Javor could sympathize. He actually detested shoes as well. However, he could survive well enough without them--she clearly could not. "Is it natural, then, to lose both of your feet to frostbite. Frostbite kills the cells in your skin, yes? The damage to your nerves can be extensive and lack of blood flow can cause serious enough tissue damage to result in amputation of your limbs. If you do not wish to remain in a wheelchair for the rest of your life with no feet attached to your legs, you will wear shoes."

Xochiquetzal tried to ignore the thing touching her feet as it was, but she had trouble not feeling uncomfortable. So, she focused on the creature's hair – the oddest of things! Silver! Close to white! Yet he looked so young.. She wished she had her mother to consult on this – the woman always knew the correct term for a creature such as that. But, that would have to be later, when she wasn't being spoken down to. She frowned at the doctor – that didn't seem natural in the least. She hadn't thought it was such a serious ailment – or that it was an ailment at all. A little bit of cold hardly hurt anyone from her experience, but.. her island had never gotten this cold.

It isn't. However, this 'frostbite' is a result of the snow.. which I don't believe to be very natural at all.” She had seen bits and pieces of snow before – small patches deep in the woods, but she had been under the impression some rouge pixie was playing pranks at the time and not that it could possibly be something 'natural'. “Is the snow a frequent occurrence? And have there been any efforts in solving it?” She may really require shoes in the end.. Ah, she disliked that idea very much. She hadn't had to wear shoes since she first said no to them at two! To have to switch back now after so many years seemed to be too much of a bother, but.. if the school refused to fix their snow problem, then she would like to keep her legs.

"Yes, snow is quit troublesome," Javor agreed. "But is unlikely to stop until the winter finishes." He ignored her other question because it was just silly. "Have you shoes in your dorm room? I will send for someone to fetch them." If not, the only thing he had that might fit her were some old galoshes in the supply room. She could use those until she purchased something more permanent.

He had some spare socks among the clothes he kept in there, so he could give her a few pairs of those. It seemed as if her feet were returning to normal, color wise. She didn't seem to be showing any discomfort, which would have been normal during the warming process. But then, perhaps she was simply good at hiding it.

"Has the feelings returned to your feet?"

Its lack of response indicated it was indeed an issue left unresolved. How bothersome. Xochiquetzal withheld a sigh and shook her head at its next inquiry, “There are none.” Really, how often did she have to say they weren't necessary for anyone to understand? It would be moronic of her to keep something she didn't need! But, she kept any annoyance to herself – she was apparently being saved from losing her limbs by this creature. She didn't want to upset it through something like impatience. She took her feet back at its last question and wiggled her toes, having not been paying them any mind before it mentioned it. “...Yes, they appear fine now. Thank you.” She paused for a moment after that, happy to know she was safe from any curses the snow may have caused. "...Are you dead?" She finally decided to question him - it was hard not to ask! She hadn't met one of the undead before!

"No. I am Javor," he said as he stood. "And I am Fae." Mostly. Perhaps slightly demonic as well, but there was no need to air that in front of a man and girl he barely knew. He went into the supply room to retrieve a pair of dry socks, as a well as the smallest of the galoshes.

A few moments later, he returned to Xochiquetzal. He handed her the socks. "You will wear these, at the least, while indoors. Your feet are still recovering and you must keep them warm." Setting the galoshes near the bed, he continued by saying, "When you must go outside, you will wear these to protect your feet from the cold. I will not permit exceptions. I am not of the mood or mindset to perform amputations."

Well, that wasn't strictly true, really. Amputations were very interesting on the right subjects. But not this girl. She was odd, but not enough to particularly hold his interest. After she left, he suspected her face would blur with the countless other female students he'd met. Something she had said did give him a momentary pause though. "Do I appear to be dead?"

Xochiquetzal mulled that over for a moment more as he denied it, deciding, once he returned, that he couldn't be a Fae or whatever else he would like to claim. He was of the undead! She was never wrong when it came to things such as these! She nodded as he set the galoshes down, eying them with slight contempt before resigning herself to wearing them. She took the socks and, thankfully, had managed to remember they went on her feet rather than being an odd set of mittens. She slid them on with some trouble, having not done so for.. well, ever. Her mother hadn't even bothered with them as the island was often too warm for any extra clothing. “Very much so.” She replied as she got her second sock pulled on, frowning at the discomfort of the cloth – a frown that deepened when she sunk her feet into the galoshes.

...” Her first instinct was to take them off, but.. that would require her to tug and pull at them, wouldn't it? It would be best to just let it be. She would grow accustomed to it and.. it appeared almost like leather. Those were natural enough, weren't they? “It is.. appreciated that you may help me, spirit.” She looked over to her professor, “And you, though it would have been far more appreciative if you would have given me your eye patch..” She paused and stared at him, as if half expecting his regret to overcome him and force him to hand the article over. Her non-existent telepathy hardly worked as instantaneous as she would have liked, so she gave in and gave a careful step forward. ...It wasn't so difficult. “May the Goddess bless you.” She stated before leaving the room entirely, off to practice her new footwear around the school until she forgot of their existence.

Abel lead Angela her way back to the infirmary. "Maybe we should let Javor check if you're already fine not to stay here anymore." He looked at her plainly while holding her hand tightly.

Since she looks okay now, Abel figured out that Javor might let her go and rest inside he dormitory.

Javor had been cleaning up from treating the influx of patients in the morning, when Abel brought Angela into the infirmary. He immediately stopped what he was doing when they walked in.

"Snezjana!" Javor said, going to Angela with an eagerness that seemed out of place. He barely acknowledge Abel. "I was expecting you to come by much sooner." He had been studying the samples he had from her--both the blood from her destroyed shirt, and the hair that Abel had left. Javor had suspected she was simply a normal human-faerie hybrid. But there were some anomalies in her blood that were very difficult to explain. Though she was clearly part Human, there were aspects of her blood and magic, that seemed pure Fae.

He had noticed, while treating her, that she had a scar that indicated some sort of surgery on her heart. He suspected the anomalies centered from whatever had been done during that surgery. If he could have, Javor would have loved to dissect her and find out. He couldn't help but reach out and rest two fingers gently above her heart, just itching to take it from her chest.

"You must take care of yourself, Snezjana," he told her in a deceptively gentle voice, that seemed almost...loving. "It would be a shame if something were to happen to one of our precious students." He caught a long lock of her snowy hair between his fingers, caressing it gently for a moment. "I will go to retrieve your medication."

Angela hadn't been really paying attention to where they were going, and managed to find herself back at the infirmary with Abel, despite that being the absolute last place she wanted to be. She didn't even get the chance to point out that Ayu seemed to want 'his nose in her business' so it might be good for him to snow at least some interest, before Javor spotted them and swooped down.

She froze the moment he approached her. Angela wasn't sure at what point during her stay in the infirmary it was that he started to scare her. Initially, she had just found him creepy. But something about his demeanor had changed and become more sinister recently. The moment he approached her, it felt like her blood had run cold and when he touched her, she could only stand there, her heart pounding--unable to even slap him away.

He always spoke to her so gently, but something about the way his pale eyes studied her was horrifying. It felt as if her skin had been peeled back, and her insides photographed. When he caught some of her hair between his fingers, she shuddered but couldn't pull away.

Javor was so much like Paul in that regard. The level of fear he evoked prevented her from fighting back or even running. It wasn't until he turned away to get her medication that she sagged a little, and debated just leaving right then and there.

Abel saw how uncomfortable Angela is around Javor. He let go of her hand and made himself way towards the doctor. "Javor, It would be best if you could allow Angela to return in her dormitory. She looks fine. And I was with her the whole time and I can see the improvement." While his eyes nailed on the girl.

"She could take your medications and rest on her bed. Not in the infirmary itself." Abel tried to sort things out with Javor politely. Seeing her horrified like that somehow troubles him.
