Riyo couldn't help but cringe a little as she felt Mort's hand practically squeeze the life out of hers. "Woah, don't squeeze so hard." She complained...
Right before she disappeared into the fish.
It had happened so fast that the feline hadn't even had time to scream, her red eyes now giving off a faint glow inside the belly of the beast.

"I'm starting to hate irony." The ghoul hissed, realizing how stupid it was that a cat had just been devoured by a fish. She may never look at canned tuna the same way again.
And then she noticed Mort's hand was still attached to her arm.

"T-thanks Mei!" he said to the broken doll ghoul. He would have to do something nice when they got back to the school---if they did get back that was. But really, of all the people, Mei was probably the last person he'd expect help from.

Another wave surged over the little pup, and he was sent spinning under the water to bump quite roughly against something, making the ghost see stars. He wasn't left with any time to recover. The currents might have been merely tiring for some of the larger students, but Jove was at their mercy, and found himself fighting towards the surface immediately next to the giant fish.
Once again he was sent into full on panic mode, being certainly within eating range. He would be hardly a morsel to such a large fish, who could eat students whole, just a little fluffy tuft of fur to pluck out of giant fishy teeth...
One of his paws connected with the thing, teeny little hind claws scratching against the creature's scaly hide as he thrashed around in the water. He could hardly hope to take on such a huge monster.

Special indeed! But before they could ride off into the sunset, Mort had to . . . get his bearings. With no saddle, no reigns, and the fact that this was a student he was riding. A female student.
Ho boy.
Normally the zombie would have reservations about such an act, but clearly this field trip had demolished most of that as quickly as that last dive had wiped out several students.
Which reminded him - no more pills. Gulp . . .
"How Mort steer?" he asked the ghoul, for right now just lightly clutching at the skin between her shoulder blades. He didn't want to accidentally hurt his new mount friend.

Mitsu was...a little surprised to say the least when Shun climbed onto her back. She was able to hold his weight just fine but she was no horse. Over all she supposed she didn't mind, she was able to keep the reaper close and it was easier to transport him this way other than dragging him along beside her. Still though it was...awkward.
Once their attacks had been made Mitsu made a quick retreat to get out of the way hoping to find another opportunity to strike. Luckily the other students were attacking as well. Hopefully the fish would be down soon and their friends would be returned.

... Oh. Right. This was supposed to be awkward from a social standpoint, huh? Funny thing, Toby had failed entirely to pay that any heed; in her head, after all, it was just the most convenient and simple solution to a student's immediate panic issues. As for Mort's question about steering, though... well, that was valid enough! How rude of her not to specify.
"... Oh, just tell me where you need to go," she explained simply, swiftly, stealing a brief 'look' at her passengers over her shoulder despite having no visible eyes to see. The shape of them was enough. Tossing her head a little, she snorted at that point, perhaps to get some mint out of her nose. "And please don't worry about hurting me. Grab what you need to stay on."
She had plenty of mane to pull on, anyway, and it was far less painful to get a little follicle strain than a beating from these... Jack, where WERE these aggressive monstrosities coming from, anyway?

Calder was tired and wanted nothing more than to remain laying down and stay there. She felt too tired to get up and watched as others worked in killing creature after endless creature. Here she thought this house was supposed to be kind to them, but despite having creatures that would have worked nicely in Amityville, the house seemed against them. So much for an education field trip. More and more she felt these field trips were just target practice and with as many arrows she had stabbed in his butt, she was rather certain of it.
Resting, she looked up as a wave of minty water rushed in. Water. FINALLY! She was parched, and even though it tasted revolting, Calder drank. Now wet, she tried to rear back when the fish swam by only managed to splash back down to lay down again. Usually she liked fish, but this one was gulping up all her friends. She frowned as tried to get up but managed to just sit instead. It was as he watched that he turned her head and noticed - Wow. Barth had....a really fine a**.
Hypnotized by some very firm cheeks, Calder turned in time to watch a splash head her way - and then be stopped by a wall of thorns. Her eyes shot back to Barth. Shifting, Calder stumbled over and hugged the boil from behind. "Thank you." He whispered, a exhausted cheer before he decided to at least TRY and held. Breathing deep, Calder tried to lash out as the fish moved by and only wound up falling back to his knees, into the minty water. So much for attacking.

It was only when she turned to look at him that Mort noticed she . . . didn't really have eyes. Whoa. Sure, he had seen her at the movie club, but it was dark then. And of course, being as slow as he was, he didn't catch on to the reason why they were describing what was going on to her.
o v o This begged the question: "How can see?"
Followed by: "Name is Mortimer. Happy t-to work with you!"
At least they got the grabbing part finished. He was going to have an issue holding on with only one hand, though . . .

He was so not going to enjoy drying off after this... he already had a huge hate for water and this was NOT helping. He was a kitsune, a fire demon basically, fire and water did not mix. His blue fur in this form was pretty long as well, so the parts that were out of the water, mainly his head, the fur was sticking up at odd angles as it dried. When they were fully out of the water and he dried, he would pretty much look like a walking blue cotton ball with 6 smaller ones attached to his butt.
Speaking of cotton ball dogs.... Remi looked over only to see a smaller form of, what he guessed was one of the students, really dangerously close to the fish which just passed by. He did not know him, but it really seemed like the little guy was struggling.
Not wanting for the little guy to get eaten too... Remi swam up towards him. "Let me help." He mumbled for a moment, before reaching a paw out to try and help the much smaller dog swim away faster.

LW attempted to use the drop into the water when Ren released her to her advantage and land a good thwack on the overgrown fish. She was starting to really dislike fish now. And water. It was making battling difficult. Wolves were not supposed to be water creatures! Stupid fish had the advantage. And the she-wolf was very tempted to shift back and just try to latch on with her jaws and sink teeth into it. Though that meant she'd have to taste fish.
Ewwww.
Surfacing again, LW searched around (not frantically at all, nope) for Jove again, finally spotting him. And someone else. Someone that vaguely looked like another canine, but it was hard to tell in the water. She swam towards the two, needing to make sure the pup was alright so her heart would stop racing. Okay, okay. It was that sisterly like feeling she had where Jove was involved. She had to make sure he was alright.
"You alright, pup?" She asked once close enough to the boils. "And, thanks. For snagging him." LW added to the kitsune boil.

"Hmm? Oh." Yes, that was right, she didn't quite have usual eyes (... in the right place. at least) and that technically wasn't normal. Toby often forgot such things in day to day life. "I see heat. Temperature," was the best way she could phrase it, and she only hoped it made sense enough-- because there wasn't really time now for a longwinded shpeel.
"And it's very nice to meet you, Mortimer." Okay, so they weren't exactly meeting for the first time, either, but they were in the formal sense of it, and Toby took a certain comfort in formality. Even just this brief, silly, ineffectual banter proved a strange comfort amidst the chaos of too much going on, though she didn't dare smile outwardly. "I'm Toby."
Now, though, there wasn't much more to that. They still had a fish to... slay? Slay. This creature needed to be dispatched for the sake of those poor students who'd been devoured, and she warily contemplated whether or not to go charging off into the thick of it again.
It was only a shame she couldn't tote more than one person-sized student on her back, really. Maybe she could've saddled another creature or two the size of Iris, but even he was a little pressed for space by her rump, and she made doubly sure to keep her steps as even as possible in the sloshing minty filth. Ugh.

The area around Savior had basically turned into mud thanks in part to the Marrowstripe's natural ability, and the monster stood in her mud-section without too much trouble. The currents had nothing on the suction keeping her feet in place, and Savior looked around to see others climbing onto various animals or just being generally protected. It was cute, but how would that stop the fish?
What was really cute was watching a larger animal save a small little puppy, and Savior all but coo'd as she observed the incident. She would have moved over there to lift them up and snuggle them but her mud-sand kept her in place. Also she felt like sandpaper, probably not cuddly.

The little pup was still failing even as the larger canine swam over to help him, and he did the only thing a panicked little foxfire could do in the situation. He latched onto that big blue paw with his sharp, needle-like teeth and held on for dear life.
At least until he heard LW's voice over the shouting and coursing of water. Then he let go and paddled over to her trailing whines all the way. The little ghost wasn't even aware he had been rescued. Everything was such a huge, jumbled up mess in his head, he could hardly keep track of who was where and what was going to try and destroy him next.

Calder rose up, and looked back, hair dripping as he turned to look at the boil. "Sorry. I'll try not to splash around as much." He missed the point of what was distracting, and instead stuck close by Barth's side. It was a god thing the water was high.
