To say Mitsu was dumbfounded was an understatement. As Shun led her away from the small group her eyes focused on the reaper. The blush on her cheeks only deepened as he bowed before stepping closer. Feeling her hand slipping into his, his arm around her waist, it was comforting...calming.
Being lead around Mitsu didn't even register what was happening, her mind clearly in the clouds. It seemed subconsciously she had learned something at least because she managed not to step on Shun's feet. It wasn't until they made a circle that she realized what was going on. Her eyes looked around their stance, took in the movement of their feet. "W...we're dancing?....We're dancing." It was almost a statement of disbelief, her eyes growing wide for a moment.
When the realization had finally settled in a smile started across her face. It started as her usual semi-smile but quickly surpassed it into something much larger that lit up her face.

"Movie?" The images that accompanied the word did explain the concept somewhat, at least. "No, we did not have such things in the Casa," it said, catching at her neck as she brought it down again. "But I would be delighted to have you educate me. In this, as in all things."

Then it's settled. First we will watch a movie. She nodded firmly, and began to sway Malodore across the dance floor once more. Then we get married.
It was hard to tell when Riley was being serious, or joking, with such a perfect deadpan voice.

Cady smiled, not with her teeth for once. She glanced around - hadn't she seen him with another ghoul? She couldn't be sure. "Oh, how are you enjoying uh, pron? Prom? I uh. You did a lovely job with the dance floor! It looks great! And the screejay booth too, thank you." For some reason she was having trouble keeping the conversation going. Maybe it was that he looked so different in a suit. Maybe it was the lights. Everything was just weird today.
Searching for a topic, she settled upon something obvious. "Have you uh. Did...do you dance?" She took in his outfit. It was certainly From All Wear. "I didn't see in the contest and-"
She couldn't hold it in any longer. "AND I AM PRETTY SURE I SAW YOU TALKING." She took in a deep breath. Gosh, that felt better.

She at least looked happy when she smiled at him, which meant he hadn't stepped on her toes yet but it would come he was sure of it. Despite the song just starting he was already impatiently waiting for it to end, the nervousness, the fear, the bats in his stomach, and the complete worry of screwing up and ruining her night, not to mention that her being in his comfort zone was very awkward was driving him to the point of him just him melting away. He couldn't say he wasn't somewhat enjoying it, yes he had a lovely date, and so far things had went well but this was far out of his norm and making him even more tired than he normally was where was a nap time to sleep the rest of it away when he needed one.
Joachim continued, for the most part, lead her rather gracefully around the floor, with the rhythm still drumming in his head.

Between the blush in her cheeks and the words she had said, Shun was a touch amused to say in the very least. It also seemed, if one were to look hard enough, that his normally intense gaze had actually softened. Rather than say anything, he just nodded to her while guiding her around the floor. He didn't plan on doing anything fancy, seeing how he rather not ruin this by flinging her across the room or something like that. What was also... actually very nice to see.. was that smile of hers. The reaper had been right about her hopes since she looked genuinely happy right now. In fact, he wasn't sure if he had seen her happier before this moment. There was something about that smile.. he couldn't really figure it out but it was kind of warming to see in a way. In a sense, it kinda made this fairly enjoyable he had to admit. It was really weird actually. But rather than dwelling on that, he just continued to dance with her.

Night tried avoid the other students as he focused on Vee, keeping her rhythm in tune with his. It was odd how he had picked up dancing habits, but it almost seemed natural for a cat, especially as how graceful he already is to know to do a simple dance like the waltz. He liked that Vee was starting to relax and kept an easy flow, not pressing her closer or moving apart.
"Well I would hope not Vee." He chuckled, "I kinda of enjoy my little moments of being able to do something right, it gives me a hint that I might be well... a little lucky." He grinned, much like a cat would when he had got a mouse. Something about the satisfaction of being able to entice the prey or something. Either way, he gave that grin to Vieve, "Don't worry, your doing just as well Vee. You've only stepped on me at least twice." He teased.
Though he saw inspiration had struck her, as her eyes blazed almost with her own...Cat's grin. Uh oh, was all Night could think. This one's a devious one and she's got something cooking in that little head of hers. He cocked his head.
"Owe? Owe you what? Another dance since your learning so quickly?" He joked but he was sure she meant something different. "What are you after Vee?" He smiled, clearly entertained by the girl.

Malodore tilted its head to one side. "I did propose, technically, but I think a wedding under Calder's tradition would be slightly improper," it teased. "You would, I think, not look good in plaid."

Christof winced, flushing at the way she seemed to at least TRYING to hold back and be polite. And the compliments. There really was no getting around it. Timidly, his scarred lips parted, "It... um... Wath Mathter Barth'th thuggethtion. Um. To wear a tongue for the ewening. It um. I can't for wery long though... I um. I g-get in trouble." He managed to explain. "You er... th-thank you... I hawen't um. Thlept in dayth but I think it wath worth it."
As for dancing. "I er... I'm n-not t-terribly good at it. My legth are a bit um. Uneven." It was honest at least. "The er... muthic hath been um... interethting?" There he complimented her back. "You and your f-friend have been um. Doing a good job."

Taryn was still ignorant to Joachim's nervousness, although if she had known she could offer him the fact that she had no toes to step on. Unfortunately for him (or perhaps fortunately), this was all bringing out the hidden ghoul in Taryn, the one who wanted adventure and storybook romance and an old-fashioned boil to sweep her off her feet... or hooves, as it were.
Without really thinking, she leaned into her date's chest and gave a content little sigh. She still followed him to the beat, finding it easier and easier to move with him as the song continued. The chimera closed her eyes, just smiling softly and feeling her heart leap.
This was a good prom.

Nukpana gave the girl a questioning look as she replied with nothing but sheer boredom, looking at least a little put at ease by the response. At least it wasn't something wrong, hells bells as if he needed anything more in that department. Breathing easy now, his molten amber eyes flicked to where she touched his shoulder, flickering back to hers with a lightly bewildered look. No one had really asked him how he was doing. In fact, he wasn't sure how many people knew... probably a great deal though, when he thought about it. With the number of dirty looks he'd been getting, he figured it was a safe assumption, anyway. But through it all, she was the first to really ask what was wrong. Riley had acted indignant and angry when he had told her, and he hadn't even told her why. But Ash seemed... concerned? Perhaps that was too strong a word, he hardly knew the ghoul. But she seemed at least interested enough to ask.
Instead of telling her, though, the skinwalker mere shrugged nonchalantly, forcing the corners of his lips to curl in a careless smirk. He wasn't about to bog her down with his stupid problems. "Just bein' irresponsible, you know," he replied, making sure his voice sounded reasonably cocky, "Thought I'd sneak away for a bit and be lazy. Ya caught me though."

Cady positively beamed this time, teeth and all. He DID talk! And despite the lisp - which she assumed was some kind of accent, like Johan - his voice was not unpleasant. "Thank you! Although really Ash does all the work, I just fiddle with the buttons, you know, it's kind of fun."
She nodded a bit at his explanation about the dancing.
"Do you have two left feet? I hear it is a common problem," she asked matter-of-factly, perhaps even with a hint of concern. "I, ah, I don't know much about dancing myself, it wasn't something we did at home," she admitted. "I haven't gotten to really try yet though." She blinked at him, frowning. It was possibly a little pathetic.

If he had been prone to nosebleeds he was pretty sure that at this moment he would have bleed all down his face and on her head but he wasn't which was a good thing. Joachim could feel the heat of her cheek on his chest and was sure that his own cheeks were probably even warmer than hers. He hoped that she couldn't hear his heart beat widely in a panic, he was pretty sure that it had no idea what was going other than fear gripping the reaper. He was in so much shock he couldn't pull her away not that he would have if he could, that was just far too rude for his own taste. No he was going to suck it up and hope for the song to end even sooner, or at least before he passed out from the lack of breathing.
The only good side, if there was ever a good side to Joachim, Taryn seemed rather happy and content.

When Shun came to take Mitsu away for a dance, Lizzy started smiling; when Charlie called them 'special friends', she couldn't stop herself from giggling, taking the younger demon's hands and whizzing him away for an odd dance after nodding at Shun and then Mitsu, giving the latter a wink.
She loves you Charlie; she's doing this for you:

"I... er... no, I make thure they're the proper feet. Although onthe or twithe they er... acthidentally er... got thwitched." He was still flushing, now staring at his boots as he twisted his tie between his fingers, "I um. I hawen't done much danthing either. My um. My date er... My date left. I think I upthet her."
He was glued to the spot, even still. If any dancing was going to occur, it was clear he would have to be dragged. Or commanded. But dancing didn't strike him as a very Igorly thing to do, really. They just weren't built for it.
