"I think he means that you won't be able to control, or summon, it as easily," Anrhea offers to Blair, trying to be helpful.
"You are welcome," she says to Claudette, "though I regret not being able to do more. I'm not a wizard."
Then she passes out warm, dry blankets to Ibara and Svana, if they wish to take it. "These are from my master's room; he doesn't like a lot of clutter."
She doesn't say anything, uncharitable or otherwise, to Kira.

"He does not have a point!" Kira wailed. "He's an idiot!"
Still boo-hooing over... Something, Kira's face soaked in snot, tears, and drool. Puffy eyes met Svana's gaze, and she let out a low whimper.
"Thank you," Blair said kindly to Anrhea. "Are you all right? Does your master push you too hard?"
"Your help was beneficial to us," Claudette said. "Can we get you a warm meal or a drink?"

Svana accepted the blanket from Anhrea, retreating to a chair and tucking her long limbs onto it, drawing her legs up to her chest and pulling the blanket all the way around herself, making sure to clamp it down on the outside with her toes.
Well aware Svana wouldn't thank the slave girl, Baldur did it for her. "Thanks for the blanket."
"You really need to stop crying," Svana said to Kira. "You aren't very intimdiating you know."

"My master is...reasonable as far as my duties are concerned," Anrhea says to Blair. "It would be fair to say that we understand each other. But, you are welcome." She smiles at Claudette. "A warm meal would be wonderful, but do not expend too much on me."
"You're welcome," she says to Baldur with a dry smile, even though they both know that she had done nothing for him directly.

"I want you to be free, Anrhea," Blair said. "That would be easier than setting Claudette free." He said this as Claudette was away from him. "It's bad to say. But there's a war, and I can't fight in it. I'm so useless."
"Here," Claudette said kindly, giving the meal to Anrhea.
Kira was sniffling, but the tears were drying up.
"Svana, I'm a good villain," she said. "I am!"

"I have been free twice," Anrhea explains to Blair patiently. "The first time I was still quite young and it was not by choice." She smiles faintly. "The second time it was my choice; I did it to save the life of a friend." She pats his arm gently. "I appreciate the sentiment, however."
She accepts the meal from Claudette with a nod of her head. "Thank you." She's quiet for a while as she starts to eat. While she doesn't 'wolf down' her food, she doesn't eat in a dainty fashion either. Rather, she paces herself efficiently while maintaining enough politeness to not disgust anyone. Actually, compared to Urt and his appetite, she probably does look dainty.
She raises her eyebrows slightly at Kira's insistence that she is a good villain.

Blair perches in a chair, looking nervously at Kira. He wasn't sure if this was a start of another tantrum. Svana should be careful, he thought. It wouldn't take much for Kira to enslave her if the mood hit her. And Kira would enjoy that.
"She's getting stronger," he said quietly, not taking his eyes away from her. "Anrhea. Can you defend yourself?"
Blair pulled Claudette towards him, her legs sprawled over his, and her head on his chest. He pulled his arms around her; she was exhausted, and Blair was happy to let her sleep against him.

"I have not been trained in defense, no," Anrhea says. "For the most part, slaves are not trained in combat at the Compounds. If people want fighters, they usually do the training themselves." She sighs. "But if someone were to attack me, I doubt my master would look kindly on any destructive action against that which is his," she points out. She looks down and away slightly at the contact between Blair and Claudette, but she seems awkward about it more than offended.

"Oh please," Svana scoffed. "Look at you. A soggy mess." She gestured blithely with her hand, peeking it out briefly from the blanket she had cocooned herself in. "Besides, I thought you were a hero among your own people. Weren't you going to free them from the plague of mortals? Make a decision already."
The other two merely watched. Baldur thought her words were reflective of her own perspective. Svana did see herself a hero of her people, delivering them to new lands and new wealth. Her ego was unbelievable...although it wasn't strictly untrue.

"I would be careful," Blair said to Anrhea. "Kira's power is rising. She might be having a meltdown right now, but she is getting stronger. I don't know if I can protect you. I don't even know if Claudette can protect us or herself. We just need to make sure Kira's tantrums are under control."
Kira rose from the ground more gracefully than when she had gone down. Her skin had a strange, white glow to it, and her sadness had dried up. She didn't retort to Svana's jab, but she stepped over to Svana, pressing her cold hands to Svana's wrists after fishing them out from the blanket, her magic flowing beautifully in purple twists around the wrists. She wanted to finish before Svana or Urt or Baldur tried to stop her.
"You'll be an interesting addition," Kira said.
"That's enslavement magic," Blair said quietly to Anrhea. "Normally, I would try to stop her, but... I'm not entirely too enthralled by Svana."
Kira's gaze did not leave Svana's face as she was searching her expression for the smallest, subtle signs of complete and utter terror.

Anrhea looks down at her slave bands, wondering how strong the anti-magic in them is. So far her slavery had been of a particular nature that had to do with the rules of man, not the rules of magic. On her world, magic was something that only a few could practice, and even fewer could master. She wondered what a world was like with so much magic flowing through it.
Her face blanches as Blair explains what is going on. "My understanding of magic is limited, so I have little way of knowing who is more powerful. My Master uses his abilities sparingly unless engaged in a particular conflict. But he is...colder in temperament...than she is," she says to him, indicating Kira.
"As for being careful, I am always cautious. But if she is stronger than my Master, then it will not matter what I do, I am not strong enough to oppose either of them. If my Master is the stronger of the two, then it is his will that will triumph." She tilts her head to the side. "In the event of them being evenly matched, I am not sure what the outcome will be."

"I couldn't tell you who is more powerful either, to be honest," Blair said. "I haven't seen your master's magic, so I don't know, but Kira performed a ritual out of one of the books to make her more powerful. Knowing her, she doesn't intend to use it for good deeds. I'm a little more than worried."
He glanced down at Claudette and continued, "I know the other Immortals are afraid of Kira's new power, and with Harbinger, which is the Immortal ally of SHADOW, there's been talk of making Claudette an Immortal to help the cause. Personally, I'd stop that from happening at any and all cost."
Blair sighed and said briskly, "This is nothing for you to worry about. These are my issues, not yours. It's not fair for me to burden you with that. There's nothing either of us can do. Presently, our issue is Kira. That's what we should be worrying about."

"I am not worried for myself, one way or another," Anrhea says softly. "My life has taught me to accept things as they come. When you are in a position to serve others, your ability to accept is what keeps you alive and sane." She shrugs her shoulders easily. "That does not mean I wish you anything but the best; I simply find that being easily agitated fails to do me any good." She frowns briefly. "As for good deeds, my Master is a man of vengeance. He felt badly used in his youth and most of his power has been used in punishing those who treated him so. Otherwise, he generally leaves people to their own affairs."

"And if Kira should attempt to hurt you without your master around for?" Blair asked, deeply concerned. "She might kill you. She might rip your heart out and eat it. And there is no way you could ever be okay with that. You have to be concerned for your own well-being. Especially since if you're hurting, it will affect how you serve your master. I just want you to be okay, and I don't mean that to be rude or condescending. But it seems like you love your master, and I don't want you to be separated from him. You don't seem to dislike your life, so please run if Kira turns on you."
Blair's face was reddening as Claudette sleepily shifted on him.
"I know I wouldn't ever want for my new situation with Claudette to ever change. I love my life with her, and we'll be together forever. My mortality will only ever bother me if she becomes an Immortal."
