yeah, it's just that i've run into many a person who have refused to let their character be defeated and so the battle usually ends with someone getting bored and just leaving the fight. It just bugs me.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 24, 2006 2:33 pm

I think its all fine as long as there is no god-modding..... including the ability for a single individual to wipe out an entire legion by just charging straight into them, or the ability for someone to teleport in a castle and rescue someone..... usually castles have some form of anti magic in fantasies.......

Anywho aside from that everything seems to be going good.

~Setting~

A penninsula name Valineer is the home to both good and evil races. The land has been dominated for centuries by the goodly folk, but the evil races have had just about enough and are showing their true colors.

~Plot~

The evil and good races are now warring for power and land. The allies are a blurr and negotiations are always like walking on thin ice. Great power has risen from the Spine of the World and now threatens peace in Valineer, but a scary realization has come into clarity...
The Drow are numerous and are not welcome amongst the goodly folk and they are seeking to exterminate their surface dwelling cousins once and for all.
The one thing that none of them know is that they are being watched...

~Fighting~
If there is any fighting between characters, please do as follows:
1) There will be no killing unless that person does not want to participate any longer or you gain their permission.
2) Use paragraph fighting or 1 step action fighting.
PARAGRAPH EXAMPLE: Master Kinshou drew out his magical warhammer, Helios, and ran straight for the undead creature. He swung at the creatures head but it moved much too fast to even make contact! Kinshou took a quick back swing and slammed the mighty warhammer into the creatures side, knocking it to the ground. He stood over it and held the warhammer high, ready to finish the creature off. (Leave the end of it hanging for the other person to keep the fight going. You each draw your own conclusion. 3nodding )

1 STEP EXAMPLE: Master Kinshou took a swing at the undead creatures head. (You only write one action at a time so that the fighting can be drawn out fairly. 3nodding And make sure to put alot of detail into it so we can draw a mental image.)

3) Keep it PG-13.
4) Keep it fair. (No "You missed me and I cut off your arm!!!" bull. stare Let each person decide what their action is by themselfs, don't put actions for them so you can get an unfair advantage.
4) Have fun! xd

Rules:
exclaim Keep it PG-13.
exclaim Be literate and fix your posts before you post them (Proof read).
exclaim No God-modding.
exclaim Stick with the story.
exclaim No spamming.
exclaim This goes along with "No God-modding," but be realistic also.
exclaim Stay active or ask to be taken out if you can no longer participate.
exclaim You MAY fight with other RP members, but you cannot kill another character unless you have consulted the person you are going to kill and they agreed to allow you to kill them.
exclaim If you are inactive, you will be removed.

~Race Description~

Dark elf (Drow) - Dark Elves are usually the evil or sinister counterparts of the Light Elves (or High Elves). They are beautiful but dangerous. They are generally 4-6 feet tall with pointy ears, but being above 5’5” is very rare for dark or normal elves. They are tall, slender, human-like creatures of otherworldly beauty with normally white hair, black skin, and red eyes. They are known for their mining and metal-working as well as their evil hearts and deadly skills at killing. They normally ally with other evil/semi-evil beings such as the evil dwarves (Duergar), hill giants, frost giants, and occasionally manipulate the other lowly races such as orcs, goblins, and trolls.

Dwarf/Duergar - A dwarf is a short humanoid creature generally living underground or in mountainous areas. They are about 3-5 feet tall. Here they have heaped up countless treasures of gold, silver, and precious stones, and pass their time in fabricating costly armor. They are famed miners and smiths although, like humans, they specialize in any number of trades. Generally shorter than humans, they are on average stockier and hairier, usually sporting full beards. They are powerful fighters, great commanders, and in strange cases profess in magic and clerical skills.
They have a very down-to-earth attitude and short tempers.

Moon/wood/high elf - Elves were conceived as a race of beings similar in appearance to humans but fairer and wiser, with greater spiritual powers, keener senses, and a closer empathy with nature. They are great smiths and fierce warriors on the side of good. They are not vulnerable to disease or the effects of old age. Although they can be killed in battle like humans and may alternately wither away from grief. They are 4-6 feet tall, have pointy ears, and have light beige or nearly white skin.

Hill Giant - Hill giants are semi-intelligent beings that are a blown up figure of a human being with immense strength. They stand at 15-20 feet tall and tend to be a bit more grotesque. They are low in numbers compared to most other races, but they make up for it with their crafting skills and military strength.

Frost Giant - They are close relatives to the hill giant and equally as scarce. They are equally skilled at warfare and weapon/armor crafting, but they are far more intelligent. Their intelligence meets and nearly exceeds that of a human. They are highly immune to the cold and manipulate the elements far more than Hill giants. They are more involved with politics and trade agreements. They are just as ferocious as hill giants, but they have a better sense of rationality in them. They are easier to look at than their grotesque looking cousins, but they have blue skin being their main difference. They are very majestic peoples that indulge into sculpting. Their skills in architecture equal that of a dwarf.

Bog Troll - A very ugly humanoid that stands approx. 6-9 feet tall and slender, have grey/green colored skin, and some actually have thin grey hair on their heads. They have razor sharp claws and are very powerful. They are very stupid and blood thirsty, but they can speak some broken languages and understand basic commands. The only way to truly kill a troll is to burn their severed appendages or else they will regenerate and likely create new trolls. When attacked with fire they nearly ignite into running, screaming balls of fire. They live in swamp areas and marshes.

Cave Troll - Their name explains where they live; caves. They are about 8-12 feet tall, have beige/brown skin, and do not have any hair. They are ugly like their cousins, the bog trolls, but far stronger and far larger. They are void of most logic other than their bloodlust and only follow orders when they are slaves and are shown how to do it or are possessed. They are just as weak to fire as the bog troll and also regenerate if its severed appendages are not burnt.

Humans - Do I honestly have to explain?

Orcs - Of all the races and their long histories, their tales of heroes that fought great beasts and brought peace to the land, there is no greater mystery then that of the orcish race. From ancient texts it is shown that the orcs were not a naturally made race, this makes scholars wonder, did these creatures come from some other dimension, were they once an elder race, tortured and mutilated into what they are now? or were the texts simply wrong? Whatever the origin of the orc is, it has lead the race to become a race of mostly warlike creatures. The average orc is far stronger then a human, and almost completely immune to pain. Orcs come in many different appearances; some appear to look like massive humans with green skin, while others are hunched over with extremely pig like faces. Orcs are mostly scattered throughout the land, united only with those of their own tribe.

Goblins - If you ask any of the civilized races about the most clever and inventive races, the will tell you one of two things, your either talking to a member of that race, or you're going to want to go talk to a dwarf. However they won t admit that on the same level as the dwarves is the goblin race, a race that thrives on tinkering and greed. Goblins are about the same height as dwarves; however they are much thinner, this allows a large amount of them to climb easily, and on occasion be somewhat stealthy. The goblins usually have either an extremely dark almost black skin, or a muddy green colored skin. Due to the goblins love for money, they are much more social then the dwarves, and much more willing to share their inventions. For these reasons and more, the dwarves and the goblins have been rivals since the two races first made contact.

Gnomes – They are abundant in the underdark (Below the surface world in caves and underground.). They are magnificent stone and metal workers and they value beauty. They collect rare gems and they practice many forms of magic, alchemy, religious affairs. They are a goodly race even though they are surrounded by the dark elves, duergar, and what ever other random evils lurk in the underdark. They are normally 3-4 feet tall, are traditionally bald besides the occasional beard, and have long pointy noses.

Halflings – Simply shorter humans that are about 3-4 feet tall and have large hairy feet.

Well Bubbalai I think it's quite good, quite good. I'm sure that you already have the storyline well underway as well. Remember, we're here to help if need be.

Oh yeah, can I reserve a space as an orcish warlord?

Yes. 3nodding I myself will be assuming a spot as a frost giant leader and a dark elf weapons master. 3nodding
I may make a third character, but I have to validate the RP first. 3nodding

I'd like to reserve a spot as the moon/wood/high elf leader. And yes, i am here to help you.

Alright, we have 3 leaders and my second character being a weapons master of the dark elf home. I will pull quite a few names from some of my favorite books. I hope you don't mind. wink
Dark elf main capitol = Menzoberranzan ((All dark elves live in the underdark with the gnomes, duergar, and other underdark creatures))

I changed waterford to mithril hall, because i think waterford is a stinky name ((Plus that is a town not too far from me in real life, so it makes it sound even worse for an ancient name)).
Edit: I indicated all of the places on the main map that needed to be known. 3nodding

Dang.

I got kicked off the comp yesterday and was unable to clean out the Guild. O_O

Oh well, I'll be doing that today then. domokun

Jesus. Some people are idiots.

It says that all RP posts are to be at least 7 sentences, yet some people send an Invite with less than seven. IDIOTS.

What are you talking about?

It doesn't say that the request to get into the guild can't be less than seven sentences. It says that for a post for role playing, not the actual request to get INTO the guild.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 28, 2006 4:29 pm

However the person that sent me it had a two sentence one. (Both simple sentences). All they had in their request was a bunch of stuff saying they're literate and then that small two sentence RP sample (Which was horrendous).

Furthermore it's stated that if you can't do seven sentences than you aren't literate. Any intelligent person reading the rules would want to send in an application with at least seven sentences, to prove that they could do it. It only seems logical, no? But I was just ticked at the guy who sent me that application, and posted that afterwards. domokun

~Opener~

“That is it, lads! Push them, burn them, and show them their place!” A dwarf called above the crowd of allied forces.

The battle for humanity had been going on for days now. Humans, dwarves, and elves alike were fighting for their very existence. They had assembled to the distress calls from the nomadic groups and the dwarves of Mithril hall. It seemed as if all of the evil races from the Spine of the World were raining down upon the goodly folk of Valineer, the continent that was home to all of the races of the lands.

The goodly folk were being pushed back across Haven and into the Fel mountains. Goblins, Orks, and Bog Trolls/Bog Blokes had all come out of their holes as a bloodthirsty hoard seeking more power and land for their kin.

“Today is the final day, let’s be sure of it!” A human commander called to his men that were on a small slope leading up the Fel mountains. They sat, waiting for the main force to fall back. They were mounted and ready for the final assault. This would be the one motion that would determine the fate eastern Valineer.

The allied forces faught valiantly, but their numbers were dwindling as the hoards overwhelmed them. “Release!” The front lines knew the command and all ducked in unison. The evil races lunged at their ducking enemies, but were cut short by thousands of arrows blasting them in the face. As the arrows were released, the dwarves and humans ran back bent low to avoid getting hit, but that was unlikely. “Durned fairies always get here at the last minute!” A dwarven commander cursed as he ran past his elven allies, his men in tow.

The elves themselves backpedaled as they rained hell upon their enemies, ripping them apart. The goodly folk were in full flight and desperately trying to reach the slope of the mountain.

The current commander on the slope continued to prepare his soldiers, but then he saw the forces run around the edge of the slope. Everything was going according to plan.
Then boulders began crushing the allies.
He looked to the back of the pack as the pig faced demons rounded the corner with some new friends…

A half a dozen hill giants had joined the fray and were ripping stones from the rocky slope as they chased the humans and hurled them with awesome strength, taking dozens of lives at time.
The commander waiting for his cue was devastated and torn apart inside as he heard the cries from below and the watched the stones crush friends that would never go back to their families. “Wait!” His men grew anxious and furious as the fleeing men were dieing and they couldn’t help.

The bulk of enemies rounded the slope and their allies were now near the opposite side. “Charge!!” The man called with his sword raised high.
The Ork and Goblin force, in their own bloodlust, never noticed the loud rumbling growing near…
With the force of a freight train, the horsemen barreled into the hoard and torn them apart from the very center. The fleeing goodly folk spun around and hit the pig heads full force, but not before unleashing another hundred arrows into their faces.
The hill giants were conveniently near the front and were easy targets. They were soon coated in a fancy red garment of fairy arrows. They all fell, quite dead. With the threat out of the way, the two enraged armies fought throughout the rest of the day and through the night.

In the morning the entire field north of Mithril hall was littered with bodies. Humans, dwarves, and elves alike were picking up their wounded and dead. They burned their enemies’ bodies and over time the blood would diminish from the fields. This war had been going on for over a year and came to a devastating end with the goodly folk victorious.

Every day since then has been a struggle to gain peace and replace the lost from that year.

30 years later…

Tensions grow great between the goodly folk and their enemies once again, but another threat has been found. The cousins of the woodland fairies, the Drow, have been found, but not before they could carry out their yearly raiding missions from the Underdark, killing hundreds of innocent people.
Another race has found its way into the realm of the good and will only make it harder for goodly folk to keep their homes from the evil that is slowly encompassing the land…

I already did a semi-outline for my character and tribe, they will have the more brutish Warhammer Fantasy look.
